root canal– ugggh. I had so much anxiety with this. I was hesitant due to my past experience. Dr. Erika got me in within 24 hours of me calling. I was in so much pain by the time I got to her office I was at the maximum of the vicodin. The office was so clean, organized and FRIENDLY staff. I was begining to feel more at ease and less anxious. While waiting I read the reviews and recent article postings about Dr. Erika. This also reassured me.
I loved that their files are online and that I could do that at my leisure instead of in the waiting room. The assistants were thorough, friendly and treated me like I was family. I was very anxious in the chair and had a slight emotional breakdown due to anxiety and memories of my previous root canal at another facility. The Dr and the staff were awesome! They talked me through the procedure and made sure I was at ease. I could have taken a nap while they were working on my tooth and the procedure took a long time cause my tooth was so bad. (ps. no laughing gas needed, they gave just the right amt of numbing medicine.)
Fast forward to the end of the procedure and the checking out. My tooth was going to need a 2^nd apointment to finalize the root canal process. On Monday the day after the procedure they called to follow up. LOVED THAT– i wasn’t just a number to them. they were very helpful. Fast forward to the 2^nd appointment for the finale. I will just say this. I didn’t want to leave their office. I felt like i had made friends with the staff, was taken care of as if I was a family member (which I am not). I would go here again in a heartbeat– And I only hope the BEST to Dr. Erika Johnson and her staff with many years of success!
(ps. I am sorry if I skipped around. I wanted you to know that I was in a lot of pain, had high anxiety and at the end of the day this was the BEST root canal I have ever had!)

Referred here by my dentist for root canal on a Monday. They called me so many times to ‘check’ on me, that it was actually quite annoying. I’m a busy, mother of 3 with a career and two ill, elderly parents to care for. I don’t have time to answer your calls once or twice a day to reschedule appts and tell you that I’m still having pain — just FIX MY TOOTH, PLEASE!!! Every time they wanted to move my appt, I have to make arrangements for childcare, etc. Major pain! Let’s get it together, people! Full, detailed story of the ordeal below, if you care to read. But in a nutshell they were disorganized, pestered me too much with calls no less than once daily, and when I got annoyed with them, they were very, very rude. My dentist said that she will NOT be sending any more patients there! And I hope this review will help you avoid a similar nightmare!!! Just stay away!
Full details:
While I was at my dentist’s office, they scheduled an appt with this endodontist for Friday of the same week (appt #1). Before I left the dentist office, they had already called to reschedule to the next day (Tuesday… appt #2). When I arrived, she didn’t want to do the work. She wanted to prep the tooth and take ex-​rays (so they could bill my insurance for two separate visits). I was upset, as I have terrible anxiety at dentists, so they said they would try to fix it immediately. However, they weren’t able to numb the tooth. She said that I needed more time on my antibiotic to clear up infection before they could do that (so why couldn’t we have just left the original appt for Friday???)
So I asked if I could just have my Friday appt to do get it done, but they said that appt was no longer available. They scheduled me for the following Friday instead — (soonest they could get me in… appt #3). Then they called me to reschedule the appt to Wednesday instead of Friday (appt #4). They called me Wednesday morning to tell me that they may have to cancel my appt. May??? Really??? If you’re not cancelling, don’t call me at 9 a.m. for a 4 p.m. appt. later, they called to ask if I could come in at 2:00 instead of 4 (appt #5), then they called again to ask if I could come in at 3:30 instead of 2:00 (appt #6). Then they called me to tell me that they couldn’t do it and we’d have to reschedule AGAIN (ARE YOU JOKING?!? This canNOT be real!) So once again I asked. well, can I just have my Friday appt (app#3 if you’re keeping track), but of course, that was gone now as well… so we went with Monday at 4:30 (appt #7!!!).
Well, I was set to be there on time, but when dropping my daughter off at gymnastics, someone was hit on the head in the parking lot and needed medical attention. As a neuro-​trauma ICU nurse, I tended to the injured party while waiting for EMS. They called at about 4:35, and I told them that I was next door at Bounce Gymnastics but that someone had taken a blow to the head and needed medical attention and I wasn’t going to leave until the ambulance arrived. When I got there at 5:00, they curtly informed me that I was an hour late for my 4:30 appt (which they were now saying was actually 4:10 — and I NEVER would have agreed to that time… so I guess that would be appt #8), and that they wouldn’t be able to do it that day! I was livid!!! I asked to speak to the dentist (several times before they would get her) and she was even more curt and rude than her staff! I guess it’s true what they say… the culture comes from the top down!
Shame on them!!! Definitely not a good way to build a practice!!!
I ended up having the tooth fixed at Endodontic Associates who have offices all over the area… very professional (though an hour late!), but all work was done in one visit, very little pain after the procedure, and they gave me laughing gas to help with my dental phobia/​anxiety. I don’t know why this was not offered by Dr. Erika Johnson, as it is well known and scientifically documented that anxiety increases pain! (as a nurse, I know this well!)
