Specialties

We specialize in custom suiting and shirt making. Using some of the finest fabrics we create the perfect fit for you.

History

Established in 1909.

Stackpole Moore Tryon Tuesdays is one of the last independent clothing retailers in downtown Hartford. We specialize in high end custom suiting and shirt making and stock only top quality designers from around the world. A majority of our sales associates have over thirty years of experience in wardrobing, and therefore bring and extensive amount of knowledge to the table in regards to fitting, fabrics and accessories.

But the best way to enjoy our store is not through a website, but by coming in, touching the fabrics and talking to our staff. We hope to see you soon.

Meet the Business Owner

Ron and Jody M.

Business Owner

Ron — I have been a student of menswear since 1960. I began my career as a stock boy on Hartford’s Asylum Street in 1961. I graduated Bryant College in 1967. Three short years later I started my first specialty store, Tuesday’s for Men. 37 years later, with my wife Jody, I purchased the Hartford institution, Stackpole Moore Tryon. Here we are in the 21st Century and Stackpole is reinventing every day to help men and women interested in quality clothing to find their personal style.

Jody — I have been in the clothing business for over 30 years, 25 of them with my partner and husband Ron. I’m the buyer for the ladies department so I spend a great deal of time curating our assortment for our fabulous customers. When I’m not in the market, don’t be surprised if you find me in our dressing rooms working with our clientele, making sure they leave happy and looking their best. When I’m not working, I volunteer with several local charitable organizations in downtown Hartford.
