Strong drinks, wings not too bad. There was only 4 people in the place so nice n quiet.

My friends and I used to go to Damon’s on a weekly basis to do trivia night on Wednesdays. To echo most of sentiments below, the service was painfully slow. It would take 20+ minutes to get our drinks and another 20 minutes to get our food order. I was better off going to the bar to get my drink, than waiting for the waitress to take my order. We always got the same waitress, whose name I cannot remember, who’s only memorable for her bad service. For one reason or another, life got in the way and we stopped going to trivia night. I recently wanted to get the old gang back together to relive the glory days and go to trivia night, but I learned that they no longer have trivia because attendance has been lacking. I came here today for the first time in about 4 months and I was surprised to see the state of this bar. We came in at around 4PM and he told us that our group is the second group of customers that’s came in that day. The actual restaurant area was close and we could only sit at the bar area. Half the place was dark, and today being the hottest day of the year so far, I was pretty sure that the AC was not turned on. Half the liquor bottles were empty and they had very limited selection of beer on tap. The saving grace is that all the TVs above the bar were still on. I’m not sure what happened to Damon’s in last 12 to 18 months, but I feel like it’s lost a lot of its charm and good vibe. I may give Damon’s one more try, but I’m starting to understand why this place has become such a ghost town.

Not good. At all. One visible waitress for bar, tables, bussing. Most of the restaurant seating was closed. Waitress unfriendly, table and glasses dirty, food mediocre. Probably won’t be open long. New management and menu very disappointing.

Jennifer is the waitress… She fucking sucks. The restaurant is empty and it took 20min for a beer and 40 min for wings and mozzarella sticks… Worst service ever

Worst sports bar ever. I have never met such a rude, petty and grimy manager of a restaurant. First starts off with us being given a coupon on . so «damons tavern» was on the list of one’s to use. Only reason we are there. Manager tells us «no problem I will apply coupon when you finish» well we finish he disappears. We get the waitress to bring him over and while I’m getting up on my phone this ass hole just walks away! I look up and see I’m talking to my self. So I sit there for 10min! Waiting for him to come back with my app open so this jerk can hit the redeem button. And he walks buy me 3 times! Till I yell«hey can we take care of this so I can leave?» At this point he is so rude and giving me trouble about it I say here is your money, tip the waitress and leave. The worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant this guy should be fired! On top of that the calimari is hot peppers. Taste terrible. Asked them to put the mets game on at my table 4 times! They acted like they never heard of them. Asked me if I could find what channel they were on. 30 min later we finally get it on. Nice place but the manager is a moron who is rude, stupid, petty and should not be working in this industry. They had the Kentucky derby on every channel when i walked in. And when I said hey can you put the mets Game on? He said were watching the derby. I said the derby has been over for 2hrs… how about on TV ny mets? Yea fck in idiot. And treated me like a dead beat. Yea well I tip 20% ass hole and have plenty of money to spend at restaraunts. So we will not be back. Avoid this place.

Have been here sporadically over the last several years. Each time I go the place gets worse and worse. Stopped by this past Friday and it was depressing. For a Friday at 8:00 the place was essentially dead. No one was in the restaurant and bar was half full. The place was filthy. Open tables were not cleaned from prior guests, no one was taking orders. We were there 15 min and were not offered so much as a drink. The staff looked depressed and the ones we saw were too busy on their phones to attend to guests. So we decided to leave and I can honestly say do not plan on ever returning. Pretty sad since the place was decent 4 – 5 years ago but now is closer to a local dive bar.

Update: 2÷20÷15 Apparently there is new management as of a year or so ago. The place is always dead. They don’t have half the beer advertised and the wait staff seem embarrassed every time they have to mention that. Then menu has changed. The staff is mixed between happy and grumpy. The BLT is still missing from the new menus. They don’t serve guacamole with items typically requiring it so perhaps they removed the BLT because it had avocado on it. There’s an avocado conspiracy!!! Rumor has it the current owner is trying to sell the place. Hopefully someone who has a clue how to run a business will take over before it goes under.

I love the atmosphere of this place, tons of TVs and definitely a Hartford hotspot during any sort of major sporting event. The quality of the food has gone way down in the last 8 months or so. I think the place changed ownership, and now everything I’ve had there just seems very generic. This isn’t a terrible thing, the menu is fine albeit boring, with no real standout dishes.

Slowest service imaginable. Takes 10 minutes minutes to get a beer. 40 minutes for food.

I just came in tonight 11/07/2014 and found a bread clip in my burger. Needless to say, disgusting is an understatement. What the manager offer? A discount! Really? Picked 1 star because for whatever reason I was not able to complete the review with none, thus, that star is just for the waitress which was extremely nice before during and after the clip incident.

Last time I has food here it was great. This time, not so much. Had a Reuben with French fries and cole slaw. The freshest thing on my plate was the ketchup. Additional salad was ok. The server was friendly, personalable, and nice. I just hope that football Sunday doesn’t make them think they can slack on quality food

I have to agree with others and say that Damon’s has gone down hill over the years. I used to love their buffalo chicken pizza(odd choice for me at a bar-food type place) but now with the new menu, the buff chick pizza doesn’t even come with blue cheese on it. The rest of the food is just ok, nothing special. I had the chicken Caesar wrap recently and the dressing was not good at all, but the fries were yummy. It is however, a large bar with TVs and trivia on Wednesdays. It’s best for drinking and to go with a group of friends and maybe share some appetizers during a game. Go for the fun, not the food.

My friends and I come here once every week. The waitress always messes up our check. It has become a joke after awhile. I just feel like they should be able to give us the right amount of check. They always overcharge us for something, like extra food or beers. I understand that it’s busy on trivia nights, but every night? Come on man. It takes us about 30 — 40 minutes to settle our check because of the mistakes. They also have a new menu and new owner now and there are no burger deals. Wahhhhh I love their deals!

New management is horrendous: there was a hair INSIDE my mother’s chicken wing and the new manager refused to take the order off the bill after he blamed us for the stray stand. However, the waitstaff is the same as before the management change and they are amazing. LUANA is the sweetest: she stuck up for her table and was super apologetic for the incident.

Looking for great service, wear your Unilocal name tag from an event you attended earlier in the evening. We me some friends for a late dinner. When I sat down the server noticed my name tag and must have thought I was important. Nothing special on the tap list other than its length. Seems like a list for the typical beer drinking crowd; only one CT beer on tap. We ordered wings and calamari to start. We had them done Damon style, they were big and meaty wings. The sauce though weren’t great we tried the General Tso and the garlic. General Tso was too sweet and no spice and the garlic really lacked the garlic it tasted more like a Parmesan cheese sauce. Didn’t have any of the calamari but seemed like a decent portion. They did really make a point of showing that they had both legs and bodies. Pulled pork sandwich and the Texas burger. Another name tag bonus, they brought out sandwiches cut and fires portioned and 2 pickles. My friend said that she comes regularly and shares a sandwich with her date and they never cut them. There was a company Christmas party on the other side of the bar. They loved standing in front of the bathroom which made it fun to wade through drunk people to use the bathroom. Seems like a place to go if your rolling deep and need space for a large group.

A must go if your looking for a wing parlor! If I recall they have approximately 10 flavor of sauces. At first I was little hesitant on the ‘Damon’ style breaded wings, but OMG, they ROCK! Especially with General Tso sauce. The menu is vast, and great options of appys, sandwiches, and entrees. Great option for college game day with the guys, or NFL sundays. HIGHLYRECOMMENDED!

AWESOME place to watch a soccer game. I came with the American Outlaws(US men’s soccer team support group) and had a great time. There were 70+ of us and with tv’s everywhere it was a great place to watch a game and have some beers.

Came here with sister’s family so the guys could have their hot wings. I’m not a huge fan of wings, but the General Tso’s were delicious. They had just the right amount of kick. The sandwiches are a very good size for a decent price. Must also say that their kids meals are a good price for a bargain

Damon’s — This is a fun, well run establishment. Damon’s is next to Wendy’s on Prospect Street in Hartford, the other side of the road is West Hartford. so it’s right on the line. Recently they cleared the trees from around the rear parking lot. BIG improvement, it was a bit dark back there in the past and I worried that my car might get broken into. No longer an issue. Table Service — Our waitress, our interaction with the staff in general, very good. It’s tough to adequately staff for a busy Saturday. They did it. The manager was ONTHEFLOOR. constantly in motion overseeing the details. Nice. We met people there for dinner, there were ten or so of our group. After dinner a local band, Lonesome Eddie and the Bird Dogs was playing. This is group of local«40 something» guys managed to rock out — Stones, CCR, Romantics,(you get the gist). They brought some high school girls in to blast out a song or two with some brass instruments and featured a couple guests on stage with them. They had fun, the crowd enjoyed the performance. I don’t see them headlining at any major venues in the future but from what I could determine, they are in it for the fun of it. People were dancing. Not so much a Tavern — probably agree with Jason M. on the nomenclature. Not so much a Tavern, more like a very nice Sport’s Bar. You cannot fix your gaze anywhere without seeing yet another TV. We had one at our table(not a bad thing) The Bar itself is LONNNG, Beer — didn’t count — but probably 20 taps lined up there. The menu runs the gamut, steak, pasta, salmon and pizza. All ages. seriously. The booths, OK for young children, but not on a Saturday evening, sprawling bar with the many TVs are great for the 21 and up sports minded folks. In the rear there is a dance floor and frequent live music. When we were there there were some in attendance were watching the Uconn game while others listened to music and danced. The combination worked.
