We also have great new events like our Concert Cruise series, which include live blues and cover bands. You can also charter the riverboat for your wedding, party, business meeting, bus group, or any other function. We offer gift certificates for any of our dinner cruises, Pirates on the Pride, or River School cruises. The Pride also offers great advertisement opportunities by way of flags and tabletops onboard the riverboat. With thousands of potential visitors a season, advertising on the Pride is a smart option for those with smaller advertising budgets

History

Established in 1988.

The Pride of the Susquehanna is an authentic stern-​driven paddlewheel riverboat owned and operated by the non-​profit Harrisburg Area Riverboat Society, Inc. as a community service for the people of and visitors to the Harrisburg Area. Built by businessman Mike Trephan, the Pride has graced Harrisburg’s riverfront for over 2 decades.

I booked the Murder Mystery Dinner /​Theater as part of a weekend get-​away with my wife and I’m glad I did.
The boarding process was easy and the staff showed you to your seats. Dinner is catered by a local company and was very good. The riverboat staff are all very friendly and professional.
The murder mystery show was entertaining and the actors do a very good job getting the crowd involved (I won’t tell you who did it). The acts were completed before and after dinner as to not have the wait staff and actors competing for your attention.
The Riverboat also features a cash bar with a limited selection of beer, wine and liquors as well as soda.
The dock is located on City Island (Home to the Harrisburg Senators minor league baseball team. Expect to encounter a parking fee ($ 3) if there’s a home game that evening and it’s a short walk to the loading dock.
The entire show last approx. 2 hours. Getting on /​off the boat and moving about is easy — but could be challenging for someone on crutches, with a walker or in wheelchair. Smoking is permitted at the bow (front), but not in the dining cabin or up top.
The Dinner /​Theater is a fun-​filled evening for the entire family.

I would highly recommend this riverboat cruise. The captain was extremely friendly and let us on even though we lost our tickets. The bartender Sharon was fabulous. It was a lovely relaxing experience all in all. Go do it!

We went on a Princess cruise and it exceeded our expectations. There was so much for the girls to do.
First they started with Pizza.
A local salon Jenny’s Full Service Salon had an amazing staff that painted nails and hair chalked hair on the upper deck.
Then Below in air conditioning the girls made crowns, colored with other princesses, and decorated cookies. The finally was a runway show to strut off your princess costume, hair, nails, and new crown. Lots of photo opportunities with grown up princesses. Oh did I mention I was able to sit back enjoy a lovely cruise with a drink! There’s a bar on the boat! Highly recommended.

Not spectacular. It’s Harrisburg. You go up River a bit, turn around and come back the way you came seeing the same thing. Very noisy. You can’t really hear the pre-​recorded information that just drones on during the whole trip.
On the Plus side, the Corona beer is cold and $ 4, Bud Light $ 3

A nice 45 minute paddleboat cruise upstream for 9 bucks. Some nice views of the capital and skyline, although frankly not that stunningly different from what you could see from the riverbank, but a nice experience. They sell beer, some snacks, and soft drinks and such on board. There are also various evening cruises with live music and meals

Sunday evening we boarded the River Paddle Boat for a Dinner Cruise, followed by Fireworks to celebrate Labor Day.
The meal of beef and chicken kabobs was excellent! The Wait Staff was as good as it gets (Hi John) and the couples we met, along with the fabulous display in the sky made for a memorable evening. The Cheesecake dessert was heavenly!
You must experience it yourself!
We have made a promise to two couples we met on the Cruise to meet again for the Murder-​Mystery Cruise… can’t wait!

We had the chance to ride on the Pride of the Susquehanna this past weekend. Adult admission is 7.00 and children who are age 3 — 12 are only 3.00 dollars each. There is an enclosed inner deck, which is where they serve meals and have entertainment, then there also is the upper deck, part of which has a awning and chairs and the other half is exposed. E.G. hit the review right on. There are events including a murder-​mystery, Jazzin’ on the Pride and the Riverboat School. The trip is about 25 minutes long, you go up underneath the Wade Bridge, turn and come back. It’s nice to be able to see some of those small islands in the river close up, and its great to take pictures against Harrisburgs skyline.

A great addition to Harrisburg, the riverboat is really worth experiencing. In addition to all the details listed by E G., you can now enjoy jazz on the deck of the pride Thursdays for happy hour while it is docked on the Harrisburg shore. The dinner cruise is a little pricier than the average date but its a very nice evening.

This is a great sightseeing visit to take guests of the Harrisburg area when you don’t know what to do with them. Most people like the river view and this is the best way to see it. The Pride of the Susquehanna is a older style riverboat in vain of the gambling boats you always see on the Mississippi. It has the flipping circular wheel to steer the boat and 2 levels to enjoy the ride. The boat travels up and down the susquehanna to the Harrisburg border but not all the way down to TMI or anything, for about a 30 minute ride.
It is usually a smooth ride where you can sit back and relax, let the wind blow in your hair and look at Harrisburg from the outside, asking yourself why it looks so much cooler as a skyline then when actually downtown.
Tuesday through Sundays the boat leaves from City Island at 1:30pm and 3pm. The fare is $ 7 for an adult, $ 6 for a senior and $ 4 for children– a great price to see Harrisburg from a different view. They also have private dinner cruises including mystery murder dinner cruise, italian buffet cruise, classic style dinner cruise, etc. Check the website for more info.
