Meet the Business Owner

John S.

Business Owner

John Swope went to Pennsylvania College of Technology and majored in Building Construction technology. He has two associates degrees, one in carpentry and one in masonry.

John’s interest in construction developed as he worked several summer jobs with various contractors. He learned that he liked doing a variety of different trades. After he graduated from Penn College in 2006 he went to a 3-​month Log and Timber Framing school on Gabriola Island in British Columbia. John really enjoyed timber framing and got a job working at Big Timberworks in Bozeman, Montana. He improved his skills over the next 3 years and eventually moved back to Pennsylvania to do more general contracting work.

John worked side jobs for friends and family and worked at Home Depot part-​time. At home depot he met some contractors who needed help and he started working as a subcontractor for a real estate agent. He learned more about plumbing and electrical work at HACC and through experience. He started his own bu
