I’ve had nothing but bad experiences with Comcast since switching. I don’t usually post a lot of bad reviews but if one person can decide against Comcast by reading this then it’s worth it. If you’re signing up BEWARE the rep. I had lied flat out and promised us ESPN’s specifically (I said that’s mainly all I wanted) and many other channels as well. He even sent a link to a channel list of what I would get for said price. I was sure upset when the tech installed my cable box and I had no ESPN’s and many other channels.
GIFT CARD: was promised a visa gift card for signing up too! nope, they said it takes 14 – 16 weeks and when they check mine said I was un-​eligible!!!
Customer Service; Horrible, called them several times and every time get the run around from a rep then they promise a manager. Well neither can do anything for you and like to pass the buck. I talked to them today just to add my wife as an authorized user (after I’d already done it online a few weeks ago) and the rep could even understand that or make it happen. That was the last straw and so here I am.
Don’t Buy Comcast Xfinity! PERIOD

If ‘zero or negative’ ratings were available, Comcast definitely deserves something for their deceitful contracts and customer No-​Service Department!
If you are able to talk to their ill-​informed employees, they will give you inaccurate information.
Ask for a confirming email – they will flat-​out refuse to document their conversations.
My suggestion is to ask for their name and Badge Number (s). Requesting this information may not guarantee the truth, the information can be used in complaints filed with your states’ PUCs.
Augment your complaints with formal complaints – eventually, Comcast may have to pay-​up for their transgressions!

I am not a fan of Comcast because they are known for horrible customer service. Despite my previous bad experiences, I decided to give them a chance only because I was referred to an Account Executive who I was told could help me.
I made an appointment a week in advance and was told everything would be set up before I moved into my new apartment. Needless to say, it was not that easy. After 3 no-​shows, promised phone calls that we’re never received, and waiting around 3 days for several appointments, I decided that the extra $ 5 a month was worth switching to Verizon. Verizon showed up 10 minutes early to their scheduled appointment and had everything ready in a half hour.
I left comcast a message letting them know that I no longer needed their services and to cancel my account and to no surprise, I did not hear back. This is Comcast customer service folks. Their competitive prices allow them to treat customers like crap.

Just love it every time you need service they charge you a dam service fee
Just got new doors put on my place and to change the sensors on my doors for my security system it costs me $ 39.95

Tried to set up our comcast Internet today. After wasting 3 hours of my time with «tech» support they determined the router they sent me was defective. So to reward me for thier bad hardware and wasting my time by wanting to charge me 10 dollars shipping to replace thier defective unit.
So im being punished for poor customer service?

I don’t want to give any stars. I have been a loyal customer since 1999. I pay whatever the ridiculous charges are and say nothing and never complain. I always pay on time and have foolishly added services to my account. Well tonight was the straw that broke my back… I now have to pay for tv shows that are premiered on comcast channels, but because the are past seasons, they want me to pay $ 2.99 per episode (30min)!!! I don’t think so!!! Thank god for blu-​ray players and smart tvs (aka Netflix). Comcast, this is ridiculous!!! I already pay $ 200++++ per month, give me my shows for free. You’re losing business and about to lose a customer, like your already have to Direct/​Dish tv

I just switched to the internet plus service package which offer free cable box and I have my own modem.
The price offered for the package is $ 59.99. I made sure with the technician that the price will be $ 59.99 and she said yup.
She told me to pick up the equipment at:

I got like a good customer on Friday 7÷11÷2014 to get the box at 5:00 pm. The lady she did not say her name but had a high temper and said what I wanted?
I gave her my phone number and she pulled up my account did not look at me and just handed over the cable box. Then she said next for other customer.
I walked out, came home and hooked up my cable box only to find out it was not a HDMI box.
Tech on the phone said since your plan included free cable box just go back and change it to HDMI. Today 7÷12÷2014 i went to get the box changed at 10:00 am. To my luck it was the same lady (she looked mad and with an attitude why did some one walk in). I asked her politely that the box needs to be changed to HDMI box. She looks at me and says you have to pay $ 10.00 extra every month. I told her to see the notes on my account and she goes like I can’t change anything you pay $ 10.00 right now and agree to pay $ 10.00 every month than only will give you the box. I took the old box and walked out and called the customer service.
On phone they looked up the thing and said the box was free i should not have to pay anyhting. Now they are shipping the box to my home.
The thing out of the whole discussion is that why would you hire employees which are rude and after looking at this many complains why would you not change them.
Next time I am not going to Harrisburg customer service center and would advise that they change the employees on the front desk.
I would like to see a response from the Harrisburg center manager. I will be posting this to the main office as well.
At the end if I were a new customer I would not go to pick my equipment’s but would rather ask the person to ship it to the home address.

I have tried multiple times to close this account.
On Friday February 7^th I called and spoke with someone asking what to do, they said I could take the equipment back to Pittsburgh and boxes would be sent to return the hardware. She said to call when I had the Death Cert and it could be faxed in. I did not have the Death Cert at that time so I could not do anything. It was also the day we were leaving Harrisburg to return to Pittsburgh. I was told by this person I could not drop off the equipment in Pittsburgh.
Last Monday the 10^th I called and spoke to Michael, ID 6NO. He gave me this fax number and I faxed the Death Cert. 717−450−3377.
Having not received the return boxes or heard anything I called again on Friday. I spoke to Amanda ID 8WA. She said the boxes would be mailed out and a supervisor was to call me no later than Monday.
I did not receive the boxes and no manager called. So today the 19^th, I called again and spoke to Jessica ID LH7. She said the fax was never received. She also said I should use a different fax number, 717−450−3291. During our conversation she said I would have to pay a fee to return the equipment to Harrisburg which was the first time this was mentioned. She said that I could in fact return the equipment in Pittsburgh and close the account here. That was good news at the time. I went to the local office to do just that. After they took the equipment and a copy of the Death Cert they said they would mail back the equipment but could not close the account. I was told I still had to contact Harrisburg to close the account.
So AGAIN I am faxing this letter, the Death Cert and the receipt they gave me at the local office for the equipment in hopes that someone will help me close this account.
I don’t know how many more times I have called I lost track. Last week they said they would call me this week when the equipment arrived in Harrisburg. I called to check earlier in the week and nothing yet. I was also told by a person that I could have ordered the boxes online for the equipment return, after about the 9^th call.
Today they wanted the account owner to give me authorization on the account. I asked them what they don’t understand about the account holder being deceased. They said the supervisor said that was their policy. What idiots.

Comcast’s Internet service is HORRIBLE!!!
I telework and have missed several days of work thanks to Comcast’s crappy Internet. When I call customer service, I just get looped around in circles and, eventually, the call just gets disconnected. Avoid if at all possible!

Worst experience ever. Had them yrs ago and were awful, was hoping they had changed in recent yrs. They Have NOT! Misery w/​the technicians trying to get an install & when there is a problem, every rep tells you something Totally different. Finally closed out my account, just to get a bill in mail months later saying I was in collections for over $ 230.00. Turns out they had all my billing info & name matched up to someone else’s account! FINALLY got it clarified (after losing my mind)

I recently switched from FIOS to Comcast xFinity due to a cheap promotional offer. I had issues with Comcast in 2005 but decided enough time has gone by to give them another shot. They had a bundle for $ 95.00 + Tax and no yearly contracts.
To start this crappy service, the technician was 2 hour late (there is a $ 20 credit from Comcast for this fortunately). The installation was poor — The technician installed the router in the wrong place (I had to move it to my closet). The technician did not connect our PC /​Laptops to the wireless network as agreed (they were both still using the existing FIOS wireless network). The technician picked up the laptop and saw it had an Internet connection and assumed it was already connected. He did not even enter the new network information… Plus he wrote the wrong password on the receipt (I had to call customer service to get this fixed)
Comcast Customer Service is very frustrating and disappointing. The billing department immediately wants to transfer your call to another department the second they hear the word «Internet» or «online». They could not solve my account problem and it took 5 calls over a period of 1 week to get my issues resolved.
Comcast, your service is mediocre and your call center employees are rude, lazy and robotic. Verizon will own you.

Yeah after reading Reiner’s review i thought I should write one also. I currently have DishNetwork costs 42 dollars a month. It crashed and they came and fixed everything and that only cost 30.00 but it made me realize:
The best thing I can say about Comcast: when something breaks they always fix it free of charge, and they always have people at their location 24 hours a day. Digital Voice is really expanding. Friends who work there keep saying how much FIOS is going to cut into it. Comcast usually always has a promotion available to use, if you call and threaten to cancel your service they often give you a discount!

Overpriced, rude, and I’m pretty sure they’re ugly too. Cable sucks because it has to steal from TV quality to keep internet speeds up. That’s why cable HD isn’t true HD — and one day it’ll be even worse than it is now.
But after all that — it’s still the best solution until FIOS TV is available and they do have BBC America on demand.
