Seton Medical Center

I brought my daughter to the ER & was seen very promptly. Everyone was extremely helpful & our daughter received excellent treatment. Only complaint is the rooms could be a bit cleaner — they were not filthy but not as clean as other hospital rooms.

I thought Seton Harker Heights was the best Hospital in this area oh boy! Was I wrong the front desk clerks because thats what they act like shouldnt have jobs the clerk Robert act as if its his hospital, talked to patients like their nothing and have the nerve to give attitude like whats wrong with these people. When you speaking with one person he feels the need to jump in the conversation like where is the professionalism and every patient that was at the desk as soon as they walked off he starts whispering about them. I was waiting for 3 hours and they let 2 different people go in front of me and I was in drastic pain smh I will never ever step foot in that establishment again.

This hospital is going downhill fast– I had been here several other times, and each experience has been worst than the last. I will not go back. On my last visit I came in because I was really swollen. Even after a 4 hour wait sitting down, my legs were still swollen once I got into a room. If I had just had this issue I would have tried to wait from Sat until Monday to go to my Dr, but when I got off work my daughter has a fever and was grabbing her ears; She had a history of ear infections so I was almost positive this was our issue. I went to Seton and dealt with Jerry, Teresa, Lauren & Maria. When I first came in the guy in triage said it was a 2 hour wait. The room was empty and I decided 2 hours wasn’t that bad. It ended up taking SIX hours to see a dr. When we finally got into the room they were horrible to my 4 ½ hr old daughter with special needs and we found out that they had improperly taken her temp. They SHOULD have given her medication six hours prior. They were aggressively trying to get her to take medicine and angry with me when she refused. This shouldn’t be uncommon. Then, as she was in the bed, she found not one but two BUGS! When she found the second she refused to sit in the bed, so I was carrying her and her blanket, cup, stuffed animal, etc. When a dr did see her, Dr Wheatley, he said that he could only give us a script to pick up the next day. When it came to me, he said they couldn’t touch me in case this was a thyroid issue, and they could take my blood so I could get faster results, but that was all. Apparently they have no endocrinologists on call like the other hospitals. When I complained about the bugs they said that it wasn’t their job to clean the rooms and that sometimes the rooms didn’t get clean at all. I placed a complaint first with Michael Hales who never returned calls and later with his superior, Kari Schultz, Director; She said she would follow up in three weeks and never did. When I followed up she was rude and patronizing saying the complaint was addressed and they did not feel they were wrong on several complaints. BEWARE

Absolutely horrible and useless place. I’ve been there twice the first time my son had a fever of 104.7 I was left in the waiting room with him for over 2 hours. Today I went in and had slipped and fell and was in extreme pain. I was waiting for over 2 hours yet again. I ended up leaving and going to Metroplex where I received excellent care and was in and out within an hour and half.

First time here, not sure if it’s because we have military insurance (again, not saying it is, but this is me guessing) but it took awhile for them to get us seen. There were 6 people ahead of us, I’ve seen ERs with way more people get seen faster than this. None of us looked like we were dying, so I guess it’s why they took their time. It is now 1:36am, this place feels and looks empty, but they kept saying they’re waiting for rooms to open up. We are now in a room, I’m hoping we don’t wait another hour for someone to speak a word with us. Everyone passes by our room and look the other way, wtf or maybe I’m just freaking tired and I’m pretty sure they’re tired too. I know this review is all over the place. I’ll wait til after seeing a doctor then update my review, in the meantime, going to take a nap

This is a very nice hospital in appearance. Front desk staff is helpful. The wait isn’t as long as some other area emergency rooms. We had to come twice. First time was good overall. Helpful doctor and great nurses. Second time we came back the nurses and front desk staff are still great but the doctor was not as good as the first one. I think he was overworked to be honest but he did try to help and provide care and that’s great. The only reason this review is a 3 and not a 5 is the billing department IS terrible like the other reviewer stated. It took 6 weeks to receive a call back because that entire 6 weeks we simply got the answering service. Over and over and over again. Then they never sent the paperwork we requested after finally reaching them. Called for another 6 weeks and got another person on the phone – promised paperwork was in the mail again. 6 weeks later again and no paperwork. Great nurses, good doctors, helpful front staff but the billing department ruins the entire experience and has caused me to never come back here again. It is THAT bad. Incompetence at its finest in the billing dept. And we all know how expensive health care is so I am shocked how unresponsive they are in that area.

We have been here multiple times for procedures and surgeries for my husband and every time has been a pleasant experience. Very easy to get a copy of medical records too — they are super nice and helpful!

Billing department is lazy and inept. After my daughter had surgery they tried to send us home even though she couldn’t breath right. Ended up in ER later that night.
