Established in 2004.

Beds by Design was founded in 2004 to change the «planned obsolescence» that has become prevalent in the mattress industry. The Beds By Design Factory in Harbor Springs Michigan was created to handcraft each mattress upon order and control every step of the process. Now, more than a decade later, Beds by Design has two showrooms, one in Harbor Springs and one in Rochester Michigan, and thousands of satisfied customers all over the United States.

Rory Karpathian is a craftsman and entrepreneur who left the mattress industry after twenty-​five years to start his own company. He passionately knew he could create a superior product, use healthier materials and design it to last. Ten years later, Beds By Design now makes the finest quality natural mattress in the industry and has thousands of well rested grateful customers.
