Pines Christian School

My daughter has been attending Pines for 5yrs. My experience has been nothing short of amazing. The faculty is caring, and knowledgeable. The administrative staff is professional and accommodating. The environment is open and welcoming. The staff has been together for years, which creates a family environment. Most of all its Christ centered. They believe and teach the word I’ll be very sad to leave when my daughter graduates.

I love The Pines school and staff! This school has been a true blessing to me and my daughter. My daughter started out at a high end private school in Redondo Beach and cried everyday. The staff was cold, education was good but there was no discipline policy. I learned how important a discipline policy was once my daughter started to get bullied. I went in search for a school and found The Pines. It’s like family teaching my daughter. We enrolled out of cycle and the staff made sure we were welcomed. Fall 2015 we started Kindergarten and Mrs I told me my daughter would be reading by Christmas and I must admit I didn’t really believe her. Well during Christmas break not only was my daughter reading she was doing math (addition) problems and pretty good at reading the clock too! I’ve since referred two families to The Pines and one is re-​enrolling for Fall 2016 and the other starts this summer.
I understand that every school will have short comings and things I may not like. But The Pines is one of those places where you know they care about your child. I have not had an issue that I couldn’t resolve with one of the staff members.
Not only does the school provide a great curriculum but they offer tutoring, breakfast/​lunch/​snacks, educational field trips, great summer camp program and only closed 9 days a year. And that’s just to name a FEW of the many benefits.
They also have several parent volunteers which is nice to have. I’m a working mom and I’m thankful to have other parents involved on campus. I’ve been on a few field trips and found them very educational.
Any bad reviews for this school is either poor communication or just a misfit. Not every school is right for every family and that’s okay but I’m glad I found the school that fits me and my daughter’s needs.

My daughter has attended Pines Christian since preschool and I for one am a very satisfied parent. My daughter is polite and respectful and a real joy to be around. I could not say this is all my own doing, as she is in school most of the day. The teachers and staff at Pines Christian are fair and understanding. Mr. Troy has only ever convinced me of his being a wonderful principal. I know that my daughter is being fed sound educational and spiritual ethics which promote self control and personal accountability. If you’re looking for a school to build your child up into a leader of the future this is the school for you.

Okay, initially I loved this place and that is for one reason… Mr. John. Mr. John is an amazing teacher, my child knew cursive by the end of 1^st grade. Besides that this place needs an overhaul. The noise level is way too high. My child came home with headaches from the noise from the other teachers and aides screaming at the kids. And they have this rule that if your child misses more than «x «amount of days from class then you must take summer courses or not pass the grade. My child was at the top of her class but they would not let our child move on to 2^nd grade and I pay 300 dollars a month for this school (summer school is the same rate). The extra star was for John and the rest… I’m sorry I tried to like this place but I just can’t. Too many cons outweigh the pros.
Honestly Troy I would agree with you. But in this case my child was chronically ill throughout the year and still kept her grades up and was a model student. That does not give any school the right to hold back a student for any reason. My kids have tried other private schools and not once is there an attendance policy which holds back a good student for any reason. For this reason I gave this review. I would understand if the student was a troublemaker or a bad student. But in this case you should have made an exception. John is an amazing teacher, keep him! And for 300 bucks plus a month my child will not be held back a grade for any reason.
