Haven of Rest Day Spa

The ambiance is nice, quiet and quaint. But the high prices do not equate to the quality of service. If you are looking for the overall spa like treatment I’d advise that you checkout your options first.
My visit was a big deal. I’m graduating this weekend. I treated myself so that I would look nice during the ceremony. The gal did a horrible job. She wasn’t friendly and stood staring at me when I was paying her tip. She seemed annoyed and barely said goodbye.

Went for a facial today, wasn’t quite what i had hoped. The setting upstairs was pleasant and the table was great, but when it came to the facial it felt insufficient. I did get the «express» facial but seemed overly express. The extraction portion I was hoping for was less than a minute. When I arrived home I ended up resteaming and extracting them myself. It also seemed as though the facial was a big opportunity to sell items, instead of focusing on the pampering that I had in mind when I decided to treat myself. My skin felt alright when I left but for the price I would have expected my face to feel vibrant, or overly fresh. It wasn’t a bad experience but I think that you could have a much better experience perhaps elsewhere.

I recently had a massage and facial here. I was able to make an appointment by email (I love not having to call!) on Thursday for the following Saturday. Very fair prices and everyone there was extremely friendly and focused on making your experience relaxing and enjoyable. Being in a converted house the layout is a little awkward and your treatments may be spread out over 3 different floors. They do have an extra sitting room away from the front door in case the UPS delivery comes and you’re in your robe but I did feel a bit awkward shuffling back and forth between my facial and massage, especially with my ‘just had a facial’ pink face and bed-​ridden looking hair. The nail stations were also in this sitting room, which wasn’t in use when I was there but I could imagine the smell of nail polish etc wouldn’t have been so relaxing, if it had. The last thing I wanted to do was have to worry about my appearance in between treatments. I would have preferred to stay in one of the darker, relaxing areas than parading around back and forth across the reception area. That being said, I did enjoy my treatments and I do plan on returning next time I want to treat myself.

Danielle, Christi and Cassandra worked on my mom, sister and I for pedicures and they were amazing! Highly professional, funny and a great experience!

I would like to start off by saying maybe I went into this place on an off day. Because from the other reviews on here it looks like no other complaints. And my review does not apply to the salon as a whole just to the women who «took» care of me. Me and a couple of friends made appts to have our nails done for a wedding. I was the maid of honor so it was important to look good. So first the lady doing my nails tells me since I came in with polish on already that she wouldn’t have enough time to give a full manicure… that’s odd because at the place I normally go they tell me not to take my polish off myself because I’ll ruin my nail. Plus, we made an appt so it’s not like we just walked in. But, whatever it was fine that’s not what got me upset. Then I told her to shape my nails rounded as in I did not want her to file my nails in a square shape. But instead of understanding what I said she proceeds to cut half of my nail off. I caught it on the second finger she was doing and got extremely upset she cut so much of my nail off. She cut so much off it was still hurting the next day. I thought this would be cosmology 101, like basic stuff. You cut a little and file the rest? Then she could not for the life of her figure out how to shape my nails correctly. I told her «did you not see how I came in?» Just mirror it to that. Yet she still had issues. I’m still looking at my lopsided thumb nails. My best friend has a shellac light and she does my nails better then this lady. I wasn’t trying to be rude or anything but it was ridiculous that I was going to shell out a lot of money to have this done for a crappy job. Anyways, I’m pretty sure I irritated her about my nails. So as the other girls got their pedicures and all the extra special treatment. I did not. Which was a little unprofessional. My pedicure & botched manicure are the WORST I have ever had. It is now Monday and I had the shellac done on Thursday and it’s already peeling off. Where as normally I can get two weeks out of my polish. Unfortunately I don’t remember the girls name who «took» care of me but she’s a tall dirty blonde, Middle Aged women. And the other girls didn’t seem to have a problem with the service they received so like I said maybe it’s not the saloon as a whole but just this women. Anyways I would never recommend this place to anyone. And I will never go back. $ 55 down the drain… ugh!

I’ve been going to this location for a couple of years now for pedicures, massages and shellac manicure. This place is amazing, friendly and always willing to work hard to accomodate scheduling. Danielle and Christine are by far the best technicians I have ever had, and I always make a point to schedule my appointments with them. Unfortunately, I didn’t have a very good experience with Cassandra, but that was a rare problem at this spa and handled well by the other staff at the spa. I would, and have, recommended this place to everyone!

Exceptional experience with my facial and waxing! Beautiful environment. I saw Cassandra, and she approached my facial needs as a mid-40’s woman and brought so many solutions! I saw immediate improvement from her suggestions and the products purchased. I would highly recommend this establishment and Cassandra in particular. She takes great care in her work, a phenomenal listenener, and great advice! Enjoy!

Just had an amazing experience at Haven of Rest. Had a Shea Butter body wrap with a massage and a signature facial– both were beyond my expectations. Can’t wait to tell all my girlfriends about this great place! I am still in disbelief that I have been driving by for over ten years (and going to a different spa) and had never gone in to have services preformed. Really impressed, thanks again!

I have been here many times for both mani & pedis — Danielle & Christy have always been amazing! Also had an hour long massage and I almost fell asleep it was so relaxing. This is the only day spa I have gone to regularly (although it’s been a while and I’m long overdue for a mani!) and I highly recommend it!

I have been going to Haven of Rest since 2005 — on the eve of my wedding. They do a pedicure like it’s a lost art, and the massage therapists are all wonderful. This is not a hair salon, and you should not expect a crazy, loud atmosphere. Relaxation and calming are the words of the day, and these ladies take their jobs seriously. I highly recommend!

had a great time, did couples massage, will be back, recommend. Long time resident of the area. Always happy to experience the local stores. Inviting and soothing décor, peaceful music, great location and ambience. Loved looking around. massage was great, staff has great customer service, thorough, accommodating and informative. Great local find. Lots of packages and meal plans. Looking forward to trying them. Good value.

I love Haven of Rest and have been going there for years. The staff are friendly and caring and the atmosphere is calm and soothing. I’ve been there for pedicures, facials and massage and have also gone with a group of friends for spa day. We’ve taken our mom for Mother’s day which makes a lovely girl’s day out.

I should start off by saying that I am not someone who generally frequents spas. Normally, I just stroll into a mall shop and get a quick pedicure but now I can appreciate the idea of a spa vs one of these quickie shops.
My mother and I have been getting pedicures and manicures done at Haven of Rest for several years now and are never dissapointed. In addition to nail care, my family members and friends have also received massages and facials here as well. The only complaint I have heard is that sometimes the massages are not very relaxing when the stairs are in use.
The staff is excellent and the atmosphere relaxing. I think the prices are appropriate. I have now been transformed into a «spa girl» and my toes thank me!

I’ve been here quite a few times and every experience is nice. One time I found an expired gift card (like, waay expired) and they honored half of it, which is more than a lot of places would have done. The pedicures are amazing, but sometimes can feel rushed. I also did a full leg and underarm wax and that was great. It was my first time getting it done too.

Stopped in for a massage and a spa pedicure recently. «Cozy» is the best way to describe the place, and everyone was very, very nice. Easy to find location and lots of parking.
Pedicure was just fine; it didn’t knock my socks off (ha ha) but it felt great and the polish job was top notch.
I paid for a deep-​tissue hot lavender massage. it was wonderful, and unlike any massage I have ever had. Kind of a cross between a body wrap and a massage. It was heaven, and the fragrance was natural and not overwhelming. I would definitely get one again. However — it was not a deep-​tissue massage as I understand or have experienced them. I’m an athlete and pretty hard on my joints and muscles. Usually, the masseuse will systematically locate knots and other trouble spots and work on them until they release their clench. This was not that — more like a «hard» Swedish massage. It was still great, but not what I was expecting.
I thought their prices were very reasonable. Would definitely go back — especially for that hot lavender massage… aaaahhhhhhh.

I took my mom and sister here for a Christmas spa pedicure. They were extremely accommodating as we couldn’t be their before closing. They actually kept a few employees there for us late and we were treated to such a nice experience! (Watch for their specials online!!! We ended up getting hot cocoa and Christmas cookies!)
It was clean and cozy. They were very polite and best of all, our toes stayed gorgeous for well over a month! Usually those things chip off and wear out easily (especially when you’re not in sandals) but they stayed gorgeous all through the holidays and I still had mine looking snazzy at Valentines Day (my nails grow slowly)!
We loved it and I totally am going back for a maternity massage.
The building is quaint and beautifully decorated – more of a Victorian style rather than Asian zen.
If you’re not a Christian you might get annoyed at the music (instrumental hymns and praise music) and art (Bible verses, etc…). But we are Christians and found it to be restful and spiritually uplifting.
The price was very reasonable. Less expensive than some of the other local places in the area but just a hair more than the chain spas. I ended up picking this one to support the local economy rather than saving a buck and it going to a corporate office out of state.
