I came back here after a month since my last visit to this shop. I tell you it’s the nicest people that I have met. The cigar lounge is clean with plenty of comfy lazy boys and TVs. I bought a box of my favorite cigar they happened to just have got them. Thx everyone for another pleasurable experience. Bravo

Good selection and friendly staff. Prices are comparable to what you’ll find around town with the exception of Rich’s and Broadway Cigar which always are always higher.

Great cigar selection, but they need to open the store on time! This is the 3^rd time I’ve left after waiting for someone to open up. While I was waiting 3 other customers were lost and the mailman couldn’t deliver. 10AM means 10AM!

I continue to visit this shop when in the Portland area (realizing it is actually in Happy Valley). Recent visits have been positive. The staff knows the product and gives good advice. I will remain a customer as long as the great service continues and great inventory is found in the store!

There is nothing like a good cigar. I’m pretty sure Sigmund Freud had something to do with a similar quote. I am still new to this place and I am trying to find places that will eventually become regular haunts. I think Cascade Cigar will be one of them.
I have been a pipe and cigar smoker since I was 21. More off than on. I easily have gone years without having anything and then when offered one on a new years I will most likely light up. If I have one a month lately, that’s a lot.
On this day, I was with a couple of new friends and they knew of Cascade and off we went. The first thing I saw, which made me happy was the glass jars of pipe tobacco. It brought me memories of the first shop I used to patronize in Woodbridge, NJ. It also made me remember a shop I would occasionally go to in Grapevine, TX. The glass jars at Cascade were just small sample jars so one could smell the types of tobacco but it triggered good memories. I am one who likes dark but sweet flavors in my pipe tobacco and they have a few varieties that will keep me happy. The prices of the tobacco vary from $ 8 – 11 depending on where it is from. Tobacco from England is on the higher end. The prices are for two ounce bags.
As for the cigar room? That was huge. I know that back in the late 90s early 2000s there was a cigar boom and many new brands came into existence. I walked into that room and after wandering around, I knew less than half of the brands by name. That’s not right. I am quite knowledgeable about cigars and their history, the ritual, the paraphernalia and most all that goes with it. This was odd to me. I found several brands that I did know and made an excellent recommendation to one of my friends (he later complimented me on the choice). I was also impressed that they carried a certain rare cigar from a brand that I know very well. They get those cigars in every three months or so. (Arturo Fuente Opus XX) It is well worth the trip just for those. They range from $ 15 – 90 a cigar. The $ 90 one is a limited special cigar I will never have the money to purchase. Most all of the cigars fell in the $ 8 – 12 range which is pretty normal. The men working there were quite helpful and just as knowledgeable. Overall, a great experience and I will be back sooner rather than later.

I went to this shop to pick out a Christmas gift for my boyfriend. Having very little knowledge of this world myself, I really appreciated the help I got from one of the people working there, Kelly. I went in knowing what style of pipe my boyfriend had been looking for, so Kelly pulled out all of the pipes in the shop that fit that style. It was really nice to be able to compare them all and hold each one in my hands, see the size of the bowl, finish, etc.
I am super happy with the purchase I made. Kelly even helped me pick out a good english tobacco and put everything (the pipe, tobacco and some free matchbooks) into a really nice cigar box (also complementary!). Not only was my boyfriend immensely happy with the pipe and tobacco, he also really loves the box and is using it to store his cleaners and tamps, etc.
Thanks so much for the awesome service and great selection! We will definitely be coming here again!

It’s been well over a year since I’ve stepped foot into this shop. What I found here was a diminished supply of cigars in this time. It could make sense, discontinue those that aren’t selling, focus on those that are selling. But in the end, the supply was less than over a year ago.
I came in because I wanted some smaller gauge cigars for a road trip and didn’t want to take my chances with an over-​the-​counter buy at another retailer. At least going into a cigar shop meant I might have a few to pick from.
My only complaint is that one of the two cigars that I picked up were not priced on the box. I ended up making a mistake that I admitted to, exchanged the 200’s (not priced) for 100’s which I just hadn’t noticed the difference, my bad, and was otherwise please with my visit.

I have been going to Cascade Cigars for many years, their customer service has always been excellent, and their cigar selection is wide. I buy cigars 4 to 6 at a time and smoke two a week. However, in the last several stops, I have had some issues. It all started about a year ago. You see, I buy cigar in the $ 5 to $ 7 range and on special occasions, I’ll treat myself with a Partigus that I’ve seen start at around $ 8 and creep up into the teens, but they do get more expensive than that. The last «special occasion» Partigus I bought was a big disappointment because is tasted moldy. I have not bought one since. As for my three main smokes, I have noticed the supply dwindle down to the point where one is not available and I bought the last two the other week on another. When I got out to my car and looked at the receipt, I was charged around 50 cents more per cigar than what the prices were marked on the boxes. I have also had problems with the occasional hard draw on a cigar and quality issues like thick stems and uneven burning. This makes me wonder if I am buying seconds.
The staff is still friendly and helpful.
Between a moldy smoke, a supply problem with my favorites and a price difference from box to register, I am looking at buying online now. I want to support my local smoke shop, but not if they do not have what I want and with the other problems, I just cannot be supportive.

Walked away pretty happy. I’m a complete cigar newb and wanted to find a shop nearby to touch base with towards educated myself in what to get started with. I walked in and pitched my interests, experience and my initial budget. I walked out w/​a bunch of cigars to try, the supplies to start with and the feeling that I was listened to pretty well. They’ve earned a bunch of return business!

I’ve been coming here for years and its a great place to come buy a couple of cigars or some custom blended pipe tobacco. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, great selection.
I only rated it four stars because I’ve noticed that recently some of the prices are higher and the selection seems smaller.
Not sure what’s going on but I think $ 8.50 for a box of 10 Medico pipe filters is crazy high. I bought the same thing on line for $ 1.08 per box later that day (in a pack of 12 boxes).
I don’t mind paying more for convenience and selection and to support a local business, but there are limits.

Lots of choices yet the staff doesn’t try to up sell you. It’s a great place to treat yourself to a cigar.

The selection in this store is as good as it gets. My go-​to cigars are La Flor and Padron, and they had enough of a selection of these to warrant repeat business. Beyond that, they had so many other brands to choose from that I actually had a chance to try a few new ones. I didn’t recognize every brand, so I asked for recommendations.
On my first visit I was recommended a few cigars from a very rude clerk. I like strong and/​or spicy and/​or sophisticated cigars and I told him as much. I’m pretty thick skinned, so all I cared about was whether or not his recommendation was worth it. It was! On my second and third visit the clerks were different and very friendly. I again asked for recommendations and they turned out to be pretty good too!
These guys know cigars, and if you’ve tried enough to give them a sense of what you like, they should be pretty skilled at helping you find new ones. The cigars are also moderately priced. That is to say, they have the full scale range of cheap to expensive, but when it comes to a single brand, they tend to price those on the moderate side.
I always make it a point to stop by when I’m heading to the Clackamas Mall. I’ve visited dozens of cigars shops around the USA and this is one of the better ones.

Cascade Cigar Shop has a large # of cigars to choose from, with helpful and friendly poeple! I would say that they went out of there way to help me find what I wanted!!!

After getting lost, we surprising found a cigar house and decided to pay a visit.
Another surprise, one of the guys that works there just moved to OR from San Jose, CA! We talked about several cigar places in San Jose and what not, but the entire staff there is pretty cool and laid back.
They have a huge inventory which is of course sealed off with a humidor running. They’ve got the smoking room as well (entrance only with purchase/​receipt) where they’ve got darts, big screen tv, board games tables, and leather sofas. yes, leather sofas. This is a MAN CAVE. queue Tim Allan’s manly grunt HAR HAR HAR. haha.

Having been to literally every cigar shop in Portland and having mediocre experiences over and over, I’m so thankful I found this place.
82^nd ave used to be my go to spot, and they’re good guys and know their shit, but it’s not my vibe. Too small, cramped, no real lounge outside a couple chairs and a tv, etc. It’s good for what it is, but they also really lack the selection that Cascade has.
Cascade’s inventory is deep. Really, really deep. Humidors, to pipe tobacco, to their deepest product the cigar.
I used to run a video store and I know how hard and important it is to get to know your customers and try and guide them to the right product. It’s an art and you really have to care about what you’re doing to do it well. These guys do just that. Sure, now and again something comes my way that I don’t enjoy, but, that’s part of the puzzle. By telling the guys, hey the Ambos Mundo #2 worked for me because of this, and the Pepin didn’t work for me because of this, they will keep finding you good stuff.
One of my favorite parts about being a cigar smoker are trying new things, old favorites that slipped through the cracks, or maybe some new fangled hyped up crap that I know will suck but I want to be able to criticize that rolled up piece of dog shit with honesty. If that’s your style, then this is your place. This place is owned and run by cigar smokers that really enjoy cigars. And it shows.
Plus their prices are great on most everything I smoke. I can’t vouch for everything including the humidors. All three of my go to cigars are the cheapest in town at Cascade.

This was a random find for me. We were on our way and this cigar shop caught our eye. My friends and i went in and wow, it’s a pretty big selection of cigars. Compared to cali prices it’s cheap!!!
What i think that makes this place special is on the other side is a smoking lounge. With your purchase it gives you 7 days to use their lounge. Lots of couches, tv to watch. a dartboard and board games. That was the first time i played Jenga, and let me tell you this, playing that game buzzed is impossible!
