Left Bank Books

I love this little gem of a book shop. Bigger used bookstores overwhelm me, so I don’t usually even go into them. But here I know that every book has been chosen carefully. I might be looking for something specific, and whether I find that book or not, I always discover something surprising to take home. The owner goes out of her way to find special requests and provide great information about various editions. The space is welcoming, with lovely light pouring in tall windows and comfy chairs in which to peruse oddities and staples alike. As for the comments about pricing, I suppose I could find some items in bigger shops for less, but I’d rather be here and support this delightful retreat from the grind.

Funky. Intimate. Musty. Hit or miss on selection.

An intimate used book store upstairs off the street. Like John, I also can’t resist a used bookstore. The selection is not that large, but it’s cozy inside and the owner is friendly. The prices are nothing to write home about, but I suppose if you come across a book you’ve been looking for a while, then you would be happy. Otherwise it’s just nice to browse, especially if it’s cold or rainy outside…
