Hanover, MA
One-​stop shopping for basics: beer, butter, and eggs. Great attached deli and the Eating Establishment for breakfast and lunch. They have a surprisingly varied selection of beer and wine. All around, great for lottery tickets, local papers, and/​or emergency shopping, and you don’t pay that much more than a supermarket if you’re in a bind. They close at 11, so if you’re doing some late night cooking, you’ll have to go over to 7 – 11.
And yes, Fin, they still have «penny» candy.
