Weird to me that this place has NO reviews. I hope I’m not writing a phantom review. Like somewhere else there are 87 detailed, amazing reviews because a single word is spelled differently in the business’ name? Well, if I am… Someone tell me, cuz that is embarrassing. If not, onward!
We came here on the recommendation of the lovely and amazing trainers at the Bellyrub Klub, when we expressed concern over our dog’s slow recovery from knee surgery, and reluctance to embrace hydrotherapy. I was skeptical (first we’re going to hydrotherapy, next my dog has a CHIROPRACTOR?!) but I was also desperate, so off we went.
We met with Dr. LoGiudice in December, who is approximately the most wonderful, gentle, caring veterinarian on the planet. She put my terrified dog right at ease, and made the appointment completely painless. She was also SO amazingly thorough. I mean, she took measurements of his leg movements, of muscle circumference, of the angle he stood when at rest, etc. I was completely astounded by her detail. After our appointment, she emailed us a proposed treatment plan — 6 weeks of varied activities, including exercise classes, laser therapy, massage, and underwater treadmill (yep, that’s a thing). She is seemingly very devoted to holistic and therapeutic (as opposed to medicinally driven) methods.
Now, to be fair, this all comes at a price. A very steep price. Our dog’s therapy plan was in the ballpark of damn-​near-​not-​just-​three-​figures, truth be told. BUT — she advised us LONG before she sent us the plan that if it was out of our budget, we could revise it to make it work. My husband and I thought the plan was comprehensive and seemed like it could help our little guy, so we went through with it.
We’re now entering week 4 of 6 and I feel confident enough to write a 5 star review. This place is PHENOMENAL. His aerobic exercises with Anna, who is gentle, soft spoken, and very good at making my dog move, his laser therapy treatments which genuinely do seem to ease his pain, even his underwater treadmill experience went well (and hilariously, for me at least). When we went for our mid-​program consultation, we learned Callum had gained 2.5cm of muscle mass, and had almost full range of motion in the bad back leg! These measurable results would not be possible if they weren’t doing something, or really a LOT of things, right.
I don’t think IPC is for everyone. It’s expensive, it’s time consuming, and it would appear from the other clientele I’ve observed that it is mostly dogs who are disabled/​injured/​older. But if your dog falls into this category and you need help making him better, I don’t think there’d be a better place to trust.
