My wife and I stopped in on a weekend morning for a quick breakfast. The prices were very reasonable, and the food choices were pretty simple. FYI — they serve 6 different kinds of coffee. My breakfast, 2 eggs, ham, potatoes, and wheat toast was delicious. My wife was stealing bites from mine. Her English muffin with egg sandwich came out with the muffin too brown for my wife(it was closer to burnt than brown). So my wife asked them to put it on the wheat bread like I had(the wheat bread slices are about 2−3x the thickness of a regular piece of toast, and very good). The coffee was great! I like medium roast, and many places don’t offer that, just dark roast or french roast(aka burnt). Overall Fiddleheads is a great place for a quick, non-fancy breakfast.

The café is conveniently located right across from Hancock Inn and right next to the market. The location is definetely a big plus, plus, it’s a cute little café that fits perfectly into the New England small town mould. The food here was ok. We ordered paninis. Mine didn’t have much flavor to it but there was a lot of cheese in it so I guess it balanced out.

The sandwiches are decent, but the prepared food is better left in the case. The quiche and ham/cheese croissant are terrible. And the one time I had the beef stew, it was super greasy.

Sherry at Fiddleheads met and exceeded all our expectations. As self-proclaimed foodies from DC, we were looking for a caterer who could give us the farm to table, autumnal menu we dreamed of. Let me tell you, this woman knows good food. All our guests are still raving about how delicious the beef tenderloin, cider braised chicken and portobella mushrooms stuffed with risotto. Those are just a few highlights from the main course. The cocktail hour appetizers, along with the main course sides also impressed. Sherry even made gluten free dinner rolls for me, which gets her extra bonus points. Sherry’s staff were efficient, friendly and made everyone feel at home. If you’re looking for a caterer who knows good food, is adaptable and just all around awesome; Sherry is your woman!

Good spot to enjoy a sandwich on a cute porch outside. I tried a veggie sandwich and my boyfriend got some kind of meat panini. Both were decent, and while we enjoyed the fresh air and the friendly service, the lunch was a bit lacking, especially for prices that would suggest fresher or higher quality ingredients. Maybe it was just my choice of rye bread or the sandwich itself, but nothing about Fiddleheads is too great — just, well, average. All in all, this country café is a decent lunch spot choice when passing through.

What an adorable country café! I have been going here for years and just love it, especially in the summer when I can laze about on their porch with my cup of coffee. Sherry makes delicious scones that you should try. I always get the cinnamon ones, and when she makes them, the raspberry and white chocolate ones. Soups here are great and any of the breakfast items. Great place to stop and enjoy life!

Sorry Fiddleheads — you’re cute as a button with a great location & front porch in the beautiful center of Hancock(worth a visit no matter where you eat.) — but this is the second time I’ve eaten here & I’m just not impressed. This time my sandwich came on the wrong bread, which was dry almost to the point of being stale, i didn’t get the onions i had asked for, and I don’t know what you’re doing to brew your iced tea(skimping on the tea bags?) but even the fresh batch I had to wait for was nasty! Yeah, I didn’t say anything cuz I didn’t want to be the Out of Town Big City Jerk at the quaint country café, so maybe it’s my fault. And to be honest, you’re in such a great location that I’ll probably be back again — maybe just for coffee — but you’re catering menu looks so good! Can’t you do something to improve the quality to the daily café offerings… Please?

Wife and I go there once in a while. Bakery items are awesome. Their Anadama Bread is the absolute best. Friendly staff — good food. A little bit pricey but the quality is excellent. We will continue to stop in when we are over that way.

Fiddleheads is the center of Hancock. I was a tour guide for 2 weeks to an Italian group of 8 women who wanted to explore New England. Since I have a home back in Hancock, we came here for a day. Sherry makes everybody welcome with open arms. Her menu has expanded to include a great variety of local foods at reasonable prices. I called her a few days in advance and told her about our group. She created a special menu with organic meats and veggies, and home made fruit pies. It was a highlight of our trip back in Hancock. If you visit Hancock make a point to stop by and enjoy the Café.
