It’s one of my favorite spots in Hana… wait, in the world. Just park at the 48 mile marker. If you get there in the afternoon you’ll see a lot of cars parked… plus the side of the road is worn from where everyone has parked(it’s across the street from mailbox 27). I’ve heard it is private property, but the owner is kind enough to let visitors come and go — and with everything in Hawaii, treat it with respect(don’t leave trash, be mindful of the neighbors, etc.). Just hop over the stone fence, walk along the worn path and walk through the metal fence, and continue to follow the trail down to Venus pool. Sometimes a local will leave out fruit for you to purchase(standalone fruit stand). At the pool, you’ll be able to jump in from ~25, 15, 10, 5 feet high, or just slip in by climbing down the rocks(not a hard climb). Also, be careful not to jump into shallow parts. Please use your best judgement when jumping– and I recommend watching others jump in to see where you should jump in(the locals know!!). The water is cool and the location is perfect. I went there almost everyday during my stay in Hana. It’s just beautiful.

Waikoa Pond(also known as Venus Pool) is a natural fresh water pool on the east side of Maui off of the Hana Highway between Hana and the Oheo Gulch(aka Seven Sacred Pools.) Drive to mile marker 48 and park before the bridge. It’s a 15 minute walk to the pool. Though the pool itself is public property on state land, you must cross private property to get here. Most people shouldn’t attempt to go here because of the difficult terrain and lack of safety features. Those who dare should attempt at their own risk.
