Hana is very rural, remote and far from the tourist sides of the island on Maui. Hana offers the charm of old Hawaii and is perfect for the outdoor enthusiasts who loves hiking, exploring, and being out and about in nature.

History

Established in 2000.

While vacationing in Hana my husband and I fell in love with a vacant lot located just steps from one of our favorite beaches, Hamoa Beach. With oceanfront views that took our breath away, we decided to sell everything in the San Francisco area, quit our jobs, and build our dream home and business. Yes, we actually lived the dream most people only think about. We purchased the lot in 1997, started construction in 1999 and opened for business in 2000. After 15 years in the business, we are recognized as one of the top vacation rentals in Hana and love our island style and rural life.

About The Hosts of Hana Oceanfront Cottages

For Dan and Sandi Simoni dreams really can and do come true. We feel we are proof of that as we are living our dream! Dan and I first visited Maui in 1982 and the moment we landed on this tropical paradise we knew that one day this island would be our permanent home. Our first drive to Hana was the typical day trip that thousands of tourists experience, as it is the «Number One Tourist Attraction» on Maui. When we arrived in Hana after driving over three hours from the West side of the island where we were staying, I remember saying to Dan «Wow, this is beautiful but who could ever live here!» Little did we know what the good Lord had in store for us.

Being born and raised in Chicago I made the move to San Francisco in 1979 and not only fell in with love with the Pacific Ocean but also the man of my dreams. Dan is a third generation native of the San Francisco Bay area who grew up surfing on weekends in Santa Cruz, California and both

Lucky, lucky, lucky… it’s what went through my head during our stay at Sandi and Dan’s ocean front cottage.
Hana is a once-​in-​a-​lifetime kind of town (even if you get to go there more than once) and finding the perfect place to stay can be a challenge. After reading the reviews, and conversing with Sandi via email, I knew this would be it.
When we arrived, the ocean view was even better than I imagined. The ocean is literally your across-​the-​street neighbor. And with the lush landscaping surrounding the place, there’s barely a reason to leave the front porch. Well, except for the amazing beach and awesome hikes nearby.
The place is quaint, but it offers everything you could possibly need. Comfortable bed, full kitchen, nice bathroom, and access to a grill out back. Plus, Sandi and Dan keep the place spotless and offer all kinds of suggestions/​info on local favorites in the area.
So if you’re stressing about where to stay (which you probably are if you’re reading this review), stop now and book this cottage. You’ll be so happy you did.

Our stay at Hana Oceanfront Cottages was beyond our expectations. The view, sounds, location, amenities, hospitality were all wonderful!
We began the first part of our vacation at a resort and that was nice. Then we journeyed along the road to Hana to stay the last part of our vacation here at the cottages and that was very VERY nice! Loved our time here.

I almost don’t want to write a review so I don’t have to compete with people for reservations! The Hanna Oceanfront Cottages are for lack of a better word amazing! The view out the front door of the main cottage is breath taking. You can basically view Jurassic Park from your living room couch!
The cottage itself is cute in a vintage Hawaiian fashion, with extremely comfortable yet simple furniture complete with old fashion Hawaiian floral patterns. The Kitchen is fully stocked with everything you could need to cook meals or simply prepare a few snacks before going to the beach.
If you’re headed for vacation or just a quick one night visit do yourself a favor and check this place out, you won’t be disappointed!

This is a marvelous property with an out-​of-​this-​world location. You are right across the street from a gorgeous beach, and can come home to a beautiful, comfortable, and quiet home. We greatly appreciate the immaculate cleanliness, large, well-​equipped kitchen, and lovely owners. This was our second visit and we will absolutely stay here again.

You truly won’t regret coming here. What a beautiful escape from reality! The Suite and the Cottage are nicely furnished and amazingly clean. The location you really can’t beat; a two minute walk to the most perfect beach, a beautiful view from your accommodation (either one), and centrally located to all the activities. If you and your Honey want to find a place to chill and relax then look no further. Just be sure to call and talk to Sandy before you plan your whole vacation. She and her Husband have lived in Hana for years and they frequently travel to other islands so they have some wonderful suggestions. I won’t stay anywhere else on my next visit to Hana.

If anyone is looking for true paradise, this is the place! Gorgeous, clean accomodations, pristine beach at your doorstep, and gracious, friendly hosts all make this the perfect island getaway. Prices are extremely reasonable, and so much more fun than staying at a large, impersonal hotel. Highly recommended!!!
