Jeans is a dive bar for older Hamtramck locals, and that’s why I love it. Take it at face value and don’t expect a nightclub. This is a simple place to have a few cheap drinks listen to a jukebox, and perhaps sing a little drunken karaōke. The owner is a sweet little old lady in her mid 80s that still slings drinks behind the bar. Definitely chat with her if she has the time.

This was our last stop before going home for the night, they reason I came… my group of friends are called«The Jeans», so totally fitting right? Well as soon as we walked in we got the stink eye from the patrons. Regulars if you will. I felt like a stranger walking into their living room. After a bit, they warmed up, but tough crowd. The place is head to toe faux wood paneling which gave it a cozy feel, the cans of beer were cheap, and the gal sitting next to us, Edie, gave us the low down on the joint. We only stayed for one drink and had to get going, but if you’re ever in the area, check it out.

also known as tight fittin jeans bar. i was told this little tidbit by an older woman named edie, she said that in the 80’s, because of the love of jordache jeans, the bar got the nickname of tight fittin jeans. my girlfriends and i refer to ourselves as the jeans, so once we found out that this bar existed, we had to make our way out. the bar itself is classic hamtramck divey bar. old ladies pounding high life in cans and guys with long zz-top beards. my favorite kind of place. also they still just continue to smoke in the bar, guess the hamtown cops don’t stop by too much. our beers cost 2 dollars and that’s how much a beer should cost in my book. the food-better made potato chips that tasted even better in my inebriated state. i will definitely be hitting up tight fittin jeans during my yearly trips down for fat tuesday and the polish festival on labor day. love, juston
