Rita’s Italian Ice

The service is great and the strawberry gelati is a classic. It is so good, I could eat it everyday!

First time at this location and was satisfied with all facets of the business. I love Rita’s and have a walk up close to my home. This store is a sit down which is much more preferable to me.
There was adequate parking in the lot and it was clean of debris. Upon walking up to the front doors the sidewalk was clean too. So this was a great start. I noticed a drive thru too which is a nice bonus to the location.
A few customers were inside enjoying their icy treats. The dining room had around a half dozen tables and the tables not in use were clean as well as the floor. Three employees were behind the counter.
My son and I were immediately greeted and asked our order by a young female staff. The case displayed the different flavors of ice nicely. Everything was very spic and span clean behind the counter. The orders were handled quickly and efficiently and were correct. The result was deliciousness of both the strawberry ice and the chocolate Misto Shake.
Prior to departing I utilized the restroom and found them in perfect working condition with supplies.
For a first visit it was strong. I will definitely plan on returning.

Tasty treats are tasty! I like the high-​tech touch of the digital menus, but they refresh a bit too quickly to be able to take in all of what is offered.

Being a native California, I had never experienced Rita’s until moving to Virginia. And the only thing I’m upset about now is that I missed out for so many years of my life! The gelati is my favorite — mango ice and vanilla custard — pure deliciousness! We have never had any problems with service there and are regular customers.

First time at a Rita’s. Sampled the Italian ices, but didn’t like the texture. Frozen custard wasn’t bad, but probably wouldn’t get it again.
Service was good. The line moved pretty quick. They have indoor seating, but keep the group I was with wanted to be outside. It’s in a strip and outside they only have 2 benches on the sidewalk and a table in the landscaping on the other side of the drive through. They were all taken so we stood around awkwardly on the sidewalk until the table freed up.

I love Rita’s. I’ve been going to Rita’s in Maryland and va for many years. I was so happy to hear that they were opening a Rita’s near my home in hampton. Prior to the opening of this location, I had to travel to Newport News near CNU to get my fix. The service there was always on point.
I’ve actually had to walk out of this new location because they didn’t have enough staff on hand to meet the demand at the drive thru and the indoor foot traffic. There were 2 people working. One on the drive thru and one on foot traffic. Several people walked out and I followed because we waited an uncomfortable amount of time to be served.
I can’t find anything bad to say about the Italian ice and soft serve ice cream. That has been good for years. The service at this location is horrible. I may have caught them on a night when someone didn’t come to work. But that is besides the point, the service was bad.

Read a lot of bad reviews about this place but I did not experience any. I did go through the drive-​thru so maybe that made the difference. Lots of icy treats here. My daughters go here often but this was my first time. it was good, but want be making any special trips.

Terrible. I bought something that looked liked soft serve ice cream (can’t remember what it was called) and cost over 4 bucks. Awful taste. Mcdonalds has better soft serve.

The ice cream here is ok. My buddy he likes the sundae with all the toppings, and the staff she was really take her time to please him. I would come back!

We didn’t have the service issues that others have written about. The place was packed (to include a large, loud group in the corner that had mistaken Rita’s for a Movie Theater) with people.
Our ice’s were excellent, and with the crowd, our service was attentive, and prompt.

Horrible service!!! They were so rude. The food was good but the service was so bad I will never go back.

Horrible customer service!!! Product is excellent, however, customer service is so bad, had to drop rating all the way. Employees are all clueless, even the managers. No one can take a single order or make a single order correctly.
Went on 3 occasions. First time, too many employees most walking in circles around each other, no on knew what was going on. Second time, girl takes order, then makes the orders for the last three customers in front of us… Why didn’t they make their orders before taking ours?! This last time we tried drive-​thru, the girl took the order, we pulled to the window and she asked what we ordered and still gave us the wrong size…
