History

Established in 2000.

Our Academy started as RD Music Studio, Inc. in 1983. In 1996 the current site was purchased and renovated to include instruction in the performing arts, i. e, music, dance, and drama and also included a recording studio. In May of 2000, renovations were completed and the name of our new facility was changed to EduStar Academy of Performing Arts, Inc. In 2013, the name was once again changed to Hampton Academy of Music, Dance, and Drama, Inc.

Meet the Business Owner

Roscoe R.

Business Owner

Roscoe, a native of Hampton, VA is a graduate of Howard University, Washington, D.C. where he received a Bachelors of Music Education degree. He also attended Teachers College, Columbia University, New York where he received his Master of Arts degree. Mr. Redcross started his music teaching career in Washington, D.C. public school system for five years before moving back to Hampton where he continued teaching music for an additional five years in the Newport News school system. Mr. Redcross also serves as staff accompanist for Hampton City Schools and is frequently called upon to accompany numerous vocal performers and choirs. He has also served as adjudicator for competitions. In addition, he has served as Minister of Music and organist at St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church for 33 years.
