Supreme Toyota of Hammond

I recently made a small purchase for a couple accessories which came to a total just under $ 25.00. As a veteran in the Military, I asked if the dealership offered a «Military Discount», but was told it wouldn’t make much of a difference in the price. I informed the salesman that he didn’t answer my question. I asked again and he said because it was a small purchase «no». What difference does it make in the price?! Either you offer it or you don’t. I will not return to this dealership for any service. I also made sure to express the disrespect I felt to everyone I know in the Hammond area.

The employees at the dealership are very nice. However, I had my truck towed to the dealership because the alternator went out and the battery died. They charge a $ 120 diagnosis fee. If you choose to get your car fixed, the diagnosis fee goes toward your final bill. They wanted $ 850 to replace the alternator ($ 250 alternator & $ 600 labor). I had them replace the battery and a battery terminal for $ 200. I bought an alternator from AutoZone for $ 150 and replace it myself (I don’t know anything about cars. Looked it up on YouTube). It took me an hour and a half to replace. My question is: why would they charge so much labor for a part that a non-​mechanic could replace in less than 90 min? Sounds pretty shady to me. Just know that if you go here for repairs, it’s going to be insanely expensive.

Absolutely horrible dealership. Recently purchased a car here and later noticed the hood was misaligned, small dents on the side of the vehicle and mirrors were inoperable. When we told them about it, it was pretty much a «too bad you already bought it» kind of response. They then brought it in for a «detailing» which was nothing more than vacuuming the inside. The car only came with a single non-​remote lock key and they refused to give us a remote unlock key. Would not recommend this place as they’ll also add thousands of dollars to your final price without even discussing it with you. Wish I went elsewhere with better customer service…

I have been a Toyota customer for over 20 years. I live near this dealership and try to do business locally. Sadly I have read the previous reviews and I still went in to Supreme a Toyota. Like I said, I went there. I left and went to Baton Rouge and purchased 2 vehicles there. I won’t same were I went, but I got Darlin of a deal.
Supreme should realize that customers are more informed today, quit selling cars like its 1975.

Before you read this, be prepared to pay and extra 500.00 dealer fee for «Theft Guard» its a dealer fee added to your best deal… Here is what happen to me:
Was working with a salesman, and a sales manager. They wanted to see my trade to value it. Before I went, I sent digital pics, and all the info on the truck. I also begged them to tell me what they would base the trade value on, was it NADA trade in or wholesale auction prices? Asked this question until they would not answer it, and finally made the ride. WHAT A WASTE OF TIME, let me save you all some time, they offer BELOW auction prices. I went in and they offered me 8500 less than NADA trade for a MINT one year old F250. After that, it was clear this was only an attempt to get you to the dealership and keep you there to fish out a deal. The price on the car they wanted to sell me was no better than anywhere else, and I have been shopping for weeks. Bottom line, I told them, if you want to go retail to retail sale prices, ok lets do that, or wholesale to wholesale. But the deal is, they want to got retail MSRP on there car, and thousands less than wholesale on your trade. They have it all over the web how they pay good money for trades, well, boy is that a whopper. Bottom line is, I took time out of my day, and asked many many times to tell me, if that was what they would offer. All it was, was hoping someone not so savy would come in, and they would make a killing on both the trade and the new car. Dishonest and
tricky. They never completely answer an question, and that should have given it away. The staff and management should be completely re trained on how to be fair to customers and not rip people off.
UPDATE: (titled «so they could make there quota») 12 days later on Sept 30, the salesman calls me at 740PM to ask me if I had purchased my new truck,
when I said no they asked if I would come in for a «fantastic deal», two grand behind invoice. I explained how pissed I was about having wasted my time,
and he said he would call me back, minutes later the sales manager calls me and ask me if I will come down for this deal «tonight».
After I had this setup for the next day, as I was not running out at 8PM at night,
they ALL VANISHED AND NEVER RETURNED calls or emails, nor text messages. What a sorry way to run a dealership.

Horrible experience! They use unethical business practices, everything you worry about when buying a car, haggling forever about price to then talk to the finance officer and stuck with extra charges to bring the price of the car well over what they started with. Please don’t waste your time at his dealership there are many other Toyota dealerships in the area to choose from. Ray is the sales person that we had and he will lie straight to your face!

Buyer beware, trickery is a foote, The salesman kept me there for nearly 5 hours from start to finish. Then when the time came to sign the paperwork, he rushed me through it, not explaining anything. It is my fault for letting the waiting game play out but after a few days after that, I decided to look over the paperwork. To my amazement they had added over 4K dollars of extras that we never even discussed. Now, I have made my third trip there today and I am still getting the run around. I like the truck but so far I would suggest buy your Toyota elsewhere.
