Flick’s Tequila Bar & Grill

I will not go in there… I have seen huge fights there all the time… upon entering you are frisked. does that not tell you enough?
Competing across the street is Coachs Corner… both have DJ’s on the weekend that play house music and the crowd constantly flip flips back and forth.
In my opinion a very dangerous place… if you’re a new face you will know within seconds you are at the wrong bar

They frisk ya on your way in… is that a good or bad thing???
Parts of Hammond have been known to attract a rough crowd and some unsavory characters. We came from Coaches Corner across the street just to kinda check the place out, see what’s up. Upon entering we’re asked if we have any weapons on us, Okie Dokes. Then comes the frisk — a good one too, if it were prison we’d have been a couple by the time it was done and over.
Things that were cool —
The bartenders were cool, seemed pretty attentive to the customers.
And for as small of a venue and as old of a building, things were in decent condition.
They’ve got a decent selection of Mexican beers (try the Victoria) and about 7 or 8 types of Tequila.
Things not so cool —
Small venue, iffy patrons… ratchets (just learned that word — thanks Unilocal Talk).
On a Saturday night it’s packed in tight, *Almost* standing room only, there was a single bar stool left.
There’s a house DJ on Saturday and he’s got some good technique with the fades and the cross-​overs, but he was hindered by the so-​so sound system…
The dance floor is also pretty small, not a big deal considering since there wasn’t much dancing going on that night.
Shots are pretty tiny — those little half shot plastic cups — I got a Cabo Wabo = $ 6.00…
I might check it out again some time, but those tiny little shots are a bust for me.
