Dr. Dirk S.

Business Owner

I grew up living in Zeeland, Michigan and enjoyed playing sports at Zeeland High School. I did my undergraduate studies at Michigan State University and then received my Doctor of Optometry degree in 1976 from Illinois College of Optometry. Since my wife and I always loved Holland/​Zeeland area, I decided to start a practice here, and we are still here today. In providing eyecare to my patients, I most enjoy the one on one interaction of helping to solve their eye and vision problems. The trust that patients put in their eye doctor gives me enormous satisfaction as well as a significant responsibility. Being «over 45» myself, I certainly have some great perspectives on presbyopia and how to prescribe glasses and contact lenses for «mature vision» challenges. The Lakeshore Eyecare Centers doctors and staff are all truly committed to providing first class eyecare services to our patients.
