History

Established in 2004.

Encore Performing Arts is committed to providing high quality dance classes to enhance the overall development of your child. We provide a safe and child centered environment to encourage our students to explore dance with qualified, nurturing teachers. We believe that dance training encourages young people to develop a positive self image as they increase awareness of their physical being. Along with improving coordination skills and developing muscular awareness, dance classes give children the freedom to express themselves through movement. The highest educational standards are expected from all Encore’s faculty members. They are lifelong learners who continue to educate themselves through certification programs, teacher training schools, conferences and other learning opportunities.

Meet the Business Owner

Terri S.

Business Owner

Terri Shaffner, Owner and Director of Encore Performing Arts, Inc. has been in the dance industry over 30 years. She started with a dance studio in Middletown and expanded to Trenton and Springboro. She has choreographed for Middletown Lyric Theater, Hamilton Civic Theater as well as the Miss Ohio Pageants. After being diagnosed with MS, she sold her studios and acquired a paralegal degree. Her health issues subsided and she re-entered the dance industry by forming a national dance competition, Encore Talent Productions, Inc. In 2010 she acquired Encore Dance Center, now known as Encore Performing Arts. Moving to the new location with a larger facility and new teachers, Terri hopes to offer more opportunities to the students. She is currently organizing a non-profit division to expand the musical theater aspects of Encore Performing Arts. The non-profit division will also fund scholarships for students who meet the criteria of talent and financial need.
