History
Established in 1983.
When CDU opened its doors to students in 1983, the school had two staff members, four paper-based courses and a handful of part-time faculty. Twenty-five years later, the school has grown into a university with full and part-time students from all 50 states and 40 countries — studying graduate and undergraduate theology and continuing education materials for adult faith formation. Our faculty include world-renowned theologians and scripture experts.

Professor Pete B.
Manager
Professor Peter Brown has been a popular instructor for Catholic Distance University’s seminar on the Gospel of St. John and the Gospel of St. Matthew as well as the term courses Biblical Foundations and Biblical Greek. He received his BA from Yale University and an MA in Theology from Franciscan University in Steubenville. In addition to being an adjunct instructor, Dr. Brown has had deep experience in Scripture and theology while working for Dr. Scott Hahn. Prof. Brown has published book reviews and articles, as well as given lectures on Scripture and Theology.
Having been awarded the Quasten Scholarship, Brown is currently finishing his dissertation in Biblical Studies at The Catholic University of America, having concluded advanced studies in Greek and all Biblical languages.
