History

Established in 1992.

My husband Michael and I started our first toy store, Jesse’s in Orange Ct. in 1988. With that being a success we opened our second location, Evan’s, in Hamden 4 years later. We hand pick all of our toys to provide what we think are the best match for our customers. We have a great mix of the greatest product on the market. I meet with toy representatives daily, unpack new product daily, and attend as many gift and toy shows available to me to keep product new and fresh. We adore our customers, our employees and our business. It is our life.

I was raised in a retail background. My father owned Hudson Curtain Shop in New Haven, Ct. when I was a child. My mother opened a gift shop for children called Sasson’s Boutique after she raised 5 kids. I was intrigued by the businesses after a brief social work career in Massachusetts. I moved back to Ct. after the birth of our first child to try our hand at retail. Luckily I acquired the retail gene and the stores have been a success from the beginning. My parents taught my husband the bookwork end of business, and I enjoy the buying aspect of the stores so together we make the best team.
