Reflections Spa at Grand Cascades Lodge

I have been coming here the last 3 years with my mom to celebrate mother’s day. We soend the weekend at Grand Cascades Lodge and then book massage services to enjoy during our stay. The layout of the spa is amazing with a room at the end with rotating chairs with a foot soaking station and the option of water, tea or champagne. The women’s locker room is clean and beautiful and really has a lot of options to spend time there. Very relaxing!

I would rate this spa no stars if I could. My therapist took the wrong customer. After 10 minutes of waiting a different therapist asked me my name. Her client apparently went with my therapist. By this point, I no longer had enough time for both services that I booked. I originally booked a scalp massage add on. The therapist stated «we pour oil on your head for that. Is that what you really want?» Um. No.
I had a gift card to use (and since I will never come back), I needed to use as much as I could. I had to ask about other options to add on. The options presented were paraffin for hands or feet. I chose feet.
She left me for 10 minutes. When she came back, she rushed through the Chardonnay massage. The oil was so thick and slimy that I was uncomfortable. She put the paraffin on my feet while the massage was still going on to save time (which defeats the purpose of an add on).
This was the worst spa experience I have ever had. Best in NJ. I think not.

My sister received a gift certificate for the spa, so I decided to go with her to try to alleviate some of my neck and back pain. We wanted to book a one –hour deep –tissue massage. We were informed we could only have a 50 –minute massage with a 10 –minute foot soak.
The facility is beautiful, with a relaxing feel; however, both of our massages were awful. Both of our masseuses had very small, weak hands. My masseuse used her elbows to dig into the knots in my back. My sister’s masseuse used her elbow and forearm to lightly rub up and down her back. There was no massaging involved. Both masseuses need more training in the art of massage. We then decided to relax in the sauna to try to relax and were told we only had access to the self-​serve steam room; we were not entitled to any of the other amenities.
At $ 155.00 a pop, you are better served going elsewhere

I recently spent a «girls» weekend at the Grand Cascades Lodge. We received services from the Spa on both days; Saturday was a massage, Sunday was a facial and all was wonderful.
When I got home on Sunday I realized that my face had an allergic reaction to one of the products used in the Chai Soy Facial (I do have very sensitive skin). I called the Spa and spoke to a woman named Michelle; instantly she was understanding! She apologized profusely about any issues that I was having and refunded me the price of the facial!
I really appreciated the care that Michelle took in my issues and I would recommend this spa to anyone who wanted great treatments! I will be back to both the resort and the spa because of their wonderful customer experience.

Dazed & confused. Poor direction/​instructions. Not worth the money. My boyfriend was sent to the locker room & told to the wait In the lounge after he got into robe. We said our goodbyes. I walked into the ladies locker room & shown the door to lounge. Was never shown the steam room. It wasn’t even mentioned. Turns out we would both end up in the same lounge. Oddly dark with red lighting. We had separate massages & both were just ok if not mediocre. Way overpriced for what we experienced. Be careful with the ‘add in’ services. You think you’ll be getting an additional 15 minutes but you’re actually getting the same 50 minute massage but charged $ 25 more. Others mentioned chocolate after the service in the foots soak area. That never happened for us. Upon checking out, the same non instructions were given to a couple checking in for their treatments. Different receptionist, same vague instructions. They said they goodbyes & I told them they would end up together In The lounge. Would not go back.

Came for a massage through the golf and massage package. It was nearly impossible to get someone on the phone, but they’re good about calling you back if you leave a voicemail.
Arrived early and took advantage of their steam room. The massage itself was nice, not the best I’ve ever had, but good enough. I loved that I was then given a glass of champaign and chocolate and I had a chance to relax with a foot bath.
There are only two showers, towels, qtips, and a blow dryer. I would absolutely do the golf and spa package again.

5 stars on my Saturday scheduled visit! Sublime! Ultimate relaxation! And after the wonderful services, the touch of champagne and truffle in the relaxation room — perfect! Will definitely come back!
Dropped to 4 stars because of the uncaring and aloof Sunday desk staff — wanted to add a full spa service to my guest — with those two girls’ attitude — I simply walked away — such a pity!

Absolutely love this place. Professional courteous staff ensure the highest quality of service. Wonderful relaxing atmosphere leaves nothing to be desired. This is my third trip here and everytime it still exceeds expectations. We always get the stay and spa package which allows us to not rush our last day and to thoroughly enjoy the couple massage and check out late. I dont think ill be able to wait a whole year to come back. Seriously thinking of making our yearly tradtion into a monthly one. If staying at Grand Cascades do not cheat your self by skipping all that the Reflections spa has to offer.

Here is my two second review…
The décor was beautiful.
The staff seemed a little annoyed — like they did not want to be bothered by the people receiving their spa treatments.
The massage was pampering — but my attendant was a little light handed.
Overall a little overpriced. I would recommend going to Elements over Reflections.

I have been to Reflections before and it’s a great spa. This time I had a therapist that was way too cautious about working on a pregnant woman– I was getting a pre-​natal massage– so while the massage was decent, it wasn’t nearly as good as it has been in the past.
I have had pre-​natal massages before and know that you are allowed to use more pressure than this masseuse was comfortable with. I can’t remember her name, but would definitely inquire about this before booking a pre-​natal massage at reflections.

Overcrowded strangely decorated lounge area. Wait staff was two awkward young girls that seemed nervous were trying to rush you out after. Massage was good, not amazing.

As the President of Service Arts, Inc. a hospitality consulting company that works with hotels, resorts and restaurants of the highest caliber, I had the good fortune of spending several days at the Grand Cascades Lodge. After just returning from 3 weeks of intensive consultations in various parts of California, I was truly in need of some down time and some TLC. An angel came in the form of «Deborah,» one of the therapists at Reflections Spa. Her intuitive sensing of what I needed at that time, her soothing voice and magical hands, provided just what the doctor ordered.

I love to visit spas, and this one was certainly a treat!
From the time you arrive off the elevator from the hotel lobby, you feel as if you have entered a special place. An interesting décor consisting of shades of red and crystals welcome you to relax and leave your stresses behind.
The welcome desk, could be a little nicer, as another reviewer has also noted, but I wouldn’t call them rude. This is the reason I didn’t give it 5 stars.
The locker area was nice, but cozy.
There are two waiting areas, which can be utilized by both men and women. This seemed to surprise some guests. The two rooms are identical, again cozy but offering delightful nibbles of sweets, waters, and teas.
The treatment room which I used was lovely. I had a wonderful massage by a therapist who was very professional.
After treatment, you are guided to a little piece of heaven on earth. A room with comfy chairs where you are given a goblet of champagne and your feet are placed in bed of sea salts. You move your tootsies around and around in the salt rubbing away any rough spots or dryness. Afterward, your chair is swiveled around to a pool of warm water to rinse the salts. Yum.
Overall, I would def suggest this spa.

THIS is how you do a spa! This was the best spa I’ve ever been to.
The Art of Reflection massage was a little overpriced at $ 125 for 50 minutes, but I feel like the experience of everything else that you get and the professionalism of the staff totally makes it worth it. You get a locker with a robe and access to the steam room, which I took advantage of before and after my massage. The waiting area was very serene with little snacks, antioxidant water and herbal teas.
The massage was excellent. My allergies started acting up that morning and I was really stuffy. Diana took the time to put eucalyptus on my chest, as well as on my feet with a warm towel, and it cleared me right up! I loved every minute of the massage.
After the massage, you go to a room with about 8 chairs and a box filled with sea salt in front of your feet, and then a small tub on the other side of the chair. They encourage you to do this salt foot soak after your treatment, and offer you champagne or water as you unwind.
I would love to come back here, even if I’m not staying at the resort. It was such a great experience!

++ Atmosphere was lovely. Very cool lighting made you feel like you were at a nightclub from the 70s.

++ Tea selection was really great; I was crazy for the cranberry lemon!

– Front desk girls were rude and incredibly dumb. You only get to be one, ladies.
– My massage was medeocre at best. I feel like I pretty much paid to have someone put lotion on my body. When I asked for more pressure she used her elbows but obviously didn’t really know how to do it because I left the spa with 2 major bruises. The one looked like a sports injury!
– Would have been nice if they had some fruit out, all they had was pastry. That seemed odd.

Amazing atmosphere, great customer service, and very relaxing. However, my massage was just okay. I was very specific about what areas to focus on and while the massage therapist did just that, she was not as thorough as I would have liked. I would go back and try it out again, just because it was a nice place to go and relax.

I got a massage and a haircut here the other day. I think the massage was called the «active life» massage or whatever their equivalent of a deep-​tissue massage is. I was very pleased with both services — the stylist/​haircut-​chick was great and listened to my preferences and my likes/​dislikes and everything I had to say about what kind of cut I wanted, and was very open to edits and changes along the way. Very responsive!
The massage was probably the best I’d gotten in a while, though I’m not much of a spa-​goer and my reference pool is somewhat limited. The massage therapist/​etc (Diana) was also open to hearing what I had to say about what kind of massage I wanted, and actually listened (!!) when I told her to beat the s*** out of my back — every other time I’ve said that to someone they still ended up treating me like a delicate flower even when I expressed permission to use their elbows and to like, seriously, beat the **** out of my back because holy goodness it HURTS and everything is a knot or trigger point and needs to be smushed. The person here, Diana, actually listened, and I got up from the table feeling like the young, physically-​functional, 23 year old woman that I am and not a hunched-​over arthritic grumpy old lady (which is what I usually feel like).
