Pizza can be very good at times, other times it seems to be too dry, its tastes like a cheese sandwich instead of pizza. Food from the kitchen is very good, but not consistent, chicken parm 2 out 5 times we’ve ordered, the cutlets were over cooked and very dry. Mixed greens can be fresher with no black leaves served. For the prices they charge, they should be dead on 100% perfect. They need to keep up quality & consistency.

I purposely stopped into this Pizzeria to order a fresh pie. Having driven back from Boston with my daughter visiting from Florida(their pizza is awful) we were both starved. We scoured the menu and decided to get ½ plain and ½ chicken parm. We ordered, paid and told them we would be right back. Picked up pie only to find when we got home, it was a pre-cooked pie(no clue how old) with some breaded chicken thrown on it. I live in town and shop locally as I have my own business and like to support others. I will not be supporting this establishment anymore. Customers deserve better.

Slow as possibly can be!!! I could have gone around the back an cooked it faster an better. 25+ mins waiting for a take out order simple plain philly cheese steak with bacon an two slices of pizza. Do not go here for lunch if your pressed for time an need to grab food an get back to work quickly. Not only did I stand here for 25+ minutes, but I had to go back since they messed up my Philly cheese steak an put mushrooms an onions on it when it was suppose to be plain with bacon, an then the counter girl argued with me since she was the one who messed up putting it into the computer, an had to stand for another 20 + mins missed my lunch time to eat. Place is still the same old gencarellis same old Shity service an Shity over priced food same owners the were here closed up shop an came back, I guess they didn’t get the hint the first time around!

Have only had take-out, but from what I’ve already had, this place is outstanding for quality and delicious food. Looking forward to trying their pizza. Don’t pay strict attention to the take out pick up times… they often are slow to get the ticket to the kitchen. Once, they didn’ t get it in til I showed up to pick up my order. otherwise… it’s a gem.

First time my husband and I went in. We were in a hurry and the waitress was super. She got our meal out quickly and the bill too. She was so friendly. The pizza slices are huge! My sandwich was perfect as I requested. I would highly recommend this place. I can’t wait to come back and try other items on the menu.

We love the food at Gencarelli’s. For a small Italian restaurant in Sussex County, it’s a standout on quality. Everything we’ve eaten has been excellent. The only issue we’ve had is the takeout service. They have omitted items at least three times, and twice, I had to drive back to retrieve the missing dishes. I have spoken to Mark the owner-a very nice man-repeatedly, and he’s trying hard to rectify the problem. We will continue to patronize Gencarelli’s because we like the food, but I would advise anyone who’s getting takeout to check your orders before you leave.

Went here when they first opened and the food was good, so I figured we had a go-to place. Placed an order tonight and my daughter went to pick it up, they said it would be ready in 30 – 35 minutes. After waiting over an hour the food still wasn’t ready. I told my daughter to just come home and I called to see what the problem was. I waited on hold for 15 minutes, then hung up. I wonder if they ever even started my order. They won’t be in business for long. *UPDATE* Finally received a call 2 and half hours later asking if I would be picking up my order. Also received a call minutes later from someone pretending to be the owner. Both calls came from a restricted cell phone, not the Gencarelli’s number.

Great service and great Italian food. Good place to come when you need a hearty meal. Bread knots are perfect and the cheese slice is big and delicious. Fun atmosphere and a good place for the whole family.

The food was fabulous. We ordered a small pizza that was cooked perfectly, and then I had Chicken Parmesan in Vodka sauce that was excellent. The server was attentive and very accommodating. We’ll be back!

Food great! Delivery on the slow side, but the delivery team are nice, respectful and polite. Your one of the best in town! So, what in the world would posses you to send out a burnt hero? As a retired restaurantour, please take my advise. You should pay close attention to what goes out your door, especially since delivery is 90% of your business. These are the people you need to impress!

We came from NYC to Mountain Creek for the weekend. After looking through Unilocal reviews for a bunch of other pizzerias, I decided to try this place with my son for a late lunch. I have to say that I was really pleasantly surprised. I hope this doesn’t come off as offensive, but I’m always a bit nervous about getting pizza outside of NYC. My son had 2 slices of pizza… the thin crust was perfect. I ordered the linguini with shrimp in garlic and olive oil(I was taking a chance – not knowing if the shrimp will be fresh at a pizzeria restaurant)…but I had a craving. I was speechless! It was one of the best linguini with shrimp I’ve ever had. It came with shitake mushrooms and broccoli rabe. The shrimp was very fresh… they pop in your mouth when you bite into them. The sauce was perfect – not too dry and not so wet that it would drown the linguini; and the taste is phenomenal. I will definitely come back the next time we’re in town. Oh, I just overheard the lady at the next table telling the waitress that the sun-dried tomatoes are amazing! I must try them next time!

Surprise, a great place opens in Hamburg. The first time we had 26in meat lovers pizza to play it safe. It was the best pizza ever. Normally we have to run to Nyc for this flavor. The second time we had a full dinner and it was just awesome. So after visiting this place several times and getting to know the waitresses we have decided to stay local with our new and best place ever.

After several meals here, my initial impression is just ‘OK’, meaning it’s not good enough to win my business, but it’s not bad enough that I won’t give it a few more tries before making a decision and possibly revising my rating. Their menu does offer some exciting things that are different than you can get at other nearby pizzerias, for example there are a lot more options for entrees, some specialty pizzas, a good selection of salads, and most intriguingly, a few risotto dishes(which I am really hoping are on point but if they aren’t then that will surely be a disappointment). I’ve gotten a sampling of different ‘staples’, including 3 types of pizza, the ‘homemade meatballs’ in sauce, garlic bread, a salad, chicken parm, broccolirabe and sausage, and garlic knots. The pizza was tasty, but very greasy, and while the toppings were yummy, I felt they weren’t good enough to offset the sauce & crust, which were just OK and not delicious. The meatballs in sauce were again. OK. But the sauce was lacking any depth and the meatballs really didn’t impress. I’m not convinced these were homemade, I did detect some notes of parm cheese and onions in them, but they were a little too bread-ey, and I would have liked to taste some herbs or something to give them some ‘oomph’. I am pretty picky about meatballs though, so even if I was generous and said they were acceptable, the sauce really just disappointed me. The garlic bread had lots of nice fresh garlic, and I wanted to love it, but it was so saturated with butter and oil that it was nearly inedible to me. The lasagna was really delicious, and had a nice amount of meat, so I was happy about that. Also yummy were garlic knots, although again they were pretty greasy. One dish that won me over was the sauteed broccoli rabe with sausage. The sausage was really good, and the veggies were not overly oily, with nice fresh garlic, and cooked perfectly — nice and green, not bitter, and not overdone. The chicken cutlets seem homemade, which is nice, but they need to be thicker and fried a little less. The thickness is inconsistent and they are overfried, which leads to them being extremely oily and the chicken tough. The flavor is good though, and reminiscent of old style Italian Nana chicken cutlets. Just thicken them up, fry them a little less and drain them well and I’m sure they will be stellar. Some of the prices are on the expensive side, like for the entrees and I noticed they charge 2.95 extra if you want pasta with your entrée like chicken marsala, etc. which is a little outrageous. The salads look reasonably priced, the specialty pizzas are on par with the other locals, and the sandwiches look OK on pricing too. Overall, I will give them a few more tries as I said. The picture of the seafood salad looks delicious, and I know they are just opening, so maybe they still need to work out the kinks. Please try to cut down a bit on the grease guys and put a little more herbs into your sauce!
