First and likely last time eating here. Service is prompt and the place is clean but menu is extremely limited. I came here for the Phở so that’s neither here not there. I ordered an ice coffee but didn’t get a true Vietnamese I’ve coffee with the phin brewer. It was good for what it was. The Phở though was not really to my liking. The broth is hot and rich but has an unfamiliar flavor to any of the other restaurants I’ve been to and was a bit salty. It didn’t help that they have some stinky condiments sitting on the table… reminds me of catfish bait. The steak I had in my Phở was pretty small and tenderized to the point of having little texture. The meatball was a different story. The flavor wasn’t bad but it was too mild too hard and the texture was kind of gritty. Now I’m no expert in Vietnamese meatballs but how do you get it gritty like that? I definitely didn’t care for that. I’ve been to nearly every phở restaurant I come across and this place is easily the worst one of the area. There’s one in the same parking lot that easily surpasses this one for Phở.

The coveted 5 star review for outstanding Vietnamese food goes to Duc Chuongs! I drive around the country for a living and I always seek out delicious Vietnamese food. The food here is superb, specifically the bun bo hue. Bun bo hue is a traditional beef based noodle soup that isn’t quite popular as Phở, but ask any native, if you love a good bowl of BBH, you can definitely sit with the natives. Duc Chuong has other locations, I ate at his Houston location which was superb. I wanted to see whether this location could hold up to its reputation. Order spring rolls, and bun bo hue large with a «nuoc mat» on the side(it’s a sweet drink) Authentic? It’s authentic enough to feature table top shrimp paste and hot oil spice. Garnish plate was impressive. Usually restaurants have you plucking leaves off of stems this place serves it ready to eat. I like that. Spring rolls were big, probably double the size of normal spring rolls. They were mediocre in flavor. Filling was rather unfulfilling. Skin was chewy rather than crispy. The drink was nothing special. The beautiful waitress simply filled a cup with Jelly and basil seed. I opted to open the sealed lid and dilute the sweet water. I don’t take sweets well. BBH is very good. Dark in color. Sausage was flavorful. The blood cubes are out of this world. Americans if that sounds nasty please don’t knock it until you try it. It’s the staple ingredient in BBH. I have never has blood cubes cooked with such perfection. You too will agree. Broth was near perfect. I had to put the entire plate of garnish in to complete the flavor with a wedge of lime as well. Beef knuckles were again cooked perfectly. Americans, if you don’t know how to go about eating the knuckles this is how I do it. Stab it with a chopstick and bite in. There’s nothing pretty about eating Vietnamese food so blend in and dive in. Overall if you want one of the best BBH, I welcome you to challenge Duc Chuongs.

Not a huge fan of Bun Bo Hue, but I am after having it here! For a small price, you get a large serving of food. I only ordered a small and barely finished the bowl. I really appreciated the fact that a lot of sides were added in the bowl. I came out full and satisfied!

Went here for a second time this weekend. We got to try almost everything on the menu. We didn’t get the spring rolls because they ran out of it. The bun bo hue is the best tasted I’ve had in Dallas. They roasted chicken plate is pretty good. The fried rice from the roasted chicken was very flavored and the chicken was not too dry. The specialized phở broth was very seasoned. Pretty good tasting phở. I would say top 3 in phở restaurants. The egg rolls are very meaty. I wished the egg rolls had a bit more vegetables in it(carrots). I tried the bun thit nuong cha gio(pork vermicelli bowel with egg roll). It wasn’t that great and not my favorite. The pork is too salty to me and the meat in egg rolls was a bit dry. Bubble tea there is pretty good. Vietnamese coffee in my opinion is over priced. $ 4.50 for one coffee. Service there was ok and expected from an Asian restaurant. Be expected to get up and get sauces on your own. Overall, I would come there again for the bun bo hue.

The BBH tastes pretty good, but the service is hit-or-miss sometimes. We’ve been here about 4 – 5 times since they opened and there were at least 2 times where, despite it being slow and we were the only ones waiting at a table, the people working took way too long to come by and acknowledge us or take our order.(They were sitting at another table wiping silverware or doing their own thing.) As another reviewer wrote, they do have a practice of stacking the dirty plates/bowls at the front counter so that when you go up to pay at the register, it’s not very attractive. Other than that, the bowls are pretty big and I’d return from time to time if I were craving BBH.

First time here and I love how it feels new-er since they got rid of the old Phở 95. My mom wanted to try BBH since she rarely ever has time to cook it anymore. As a child growing up, I was never a fan of it, but I ordered it anyways to see if I would like it this time around and sadly, I don’t… but my mom did! We both ordered the small and instead of the regular thick noodles, we opted for phở noodles. AND by small, the bowl looks like a large! As for my mom, she said the broth was very rich in flavor and there were lots of tender beef slices. I didn’t eat the rest of my dish so I gave it to my brother and my mom finished the rest ha! Our server was nice as well and he spoke english so that was a plus(no judgement). I would give a thumbs up on portion size, service, cleanliness and you definitely get your moneys worth.

This is a simple restaurant with a limited menu. The menu is has Bun bo hue, phở, chicken and rice, egg rolls, spring rolls, and drinks. We had bbh, egg rolls, and spring rolls. Everything was really good. The egg rolls are made with spring roll paper. The BBH isnt spicy and the sauces are provided on the side for you to add according to your taste. It comes with slices of beef, pork blood cubes, and other assorted meats. The spring rolls have more veggies than i like.

So delicious! It was my first time here so I wasn’t sure what kind of meat they put in the bowl. Next time I would add the sliced beef(tai) in it. I got a small and their small size is what California would consider it a large.

We decided on a whim to try out this place we never seen before as we were leaving the grocery store in the same plaza. Server said they have bún bo hue, phở & fried rice. Strange for only 3 items on the menu but that’s ok, they must be new. Since the restaurant has BBH in its name, we said we wanted the BBH. I was kind of excited since I never been to a restaurant that had shrimp paste ready on the table. My fiancé loves shrimp paste lol. They have 2 sizes — small(which is a large in most places) and large(which is like the xx-large or xe lua from phở Pasteur). We both ordered the small. Broth was rich, dark and opaque — super flavorful and savory. The BEST bún Bo hue I ever had I think. I added some condiments including the shrimp paste, cuz I like my soups to be spicy w/some acid. The shrimp paste just amped up the umami. The cha pieces were flavorful, lots of tender beef slices, there was also pork hock. A couple bites and I gave it to fiancé to finish. Too fatty for me. Two days later, fiancé was suggesting we eat there again, and he never does that. Will definitely go back with my family members who love bbh.

I feel like having Bun Bo Hue today, so I made plans going in after I pickup my kid after school. Knowing that they only serve Bun Bo Hue, so I fed my kids some snacks before we go in so they will be good while waiting for me to eat. When we arrived, I discovered that they now serve Phở. And will be serving rice dish starting next week. So I ordered my BBH and also order a small bowl of Phở with meat balls for my kids to share. Since they have eaten already, I spooned out a small amount of Phở into a small plastics bowl for them. They weren’t that hungry but finished all of the Phở in their bowl. I was like, hmmm it must be good… But I was too full from my BBH to try it. So I took the uneaten Phở home. I just ate it right now, OMG… It’s so good. I will definitely order some Phở next time I go there.

As authentic as it gets in the dfw area! And the drinks are the perfect pairing! The area is not as kept up but sometimes«hole in the wall», «mom and pop» shops are the best places. Plus, this restaurant is another location from Houston so they must be doing something right. Overall, bun Bo hue here is good in my book!

Pretty good for a 1 item restaurant. If you love bun Bo hue, this place is for you. The broth was just right, no need to add to many condements. Nice side of veggies to throw in your bbh just to give it that taste of freshness. My 1 complaint would be I’m not too big of a fan of the thick vermicelli noodles. They should have different noodle options for this tasty soup. I know it’s not traditional but I just hate the way that noodle slurps lol. If you never had you should at least try out this tasty bowl once.

The Special Friend’s sister and her hubby have been raving about their BBH for a while and have been frequent fliers. We finally had time to check it out and were satisfied. When you walk up to the restaurant, you can smell the shrimp paste and fish sauce all up in your nostrils, wafting in the air from the kitchen. To me, it’s unpleasant. To him, it’s appetizing. To each his own. When you enter the restaurant, there’s no odor of the broth so that’s nice. The small bowl is a more like a large bowl. The large bowl is what we call«tô xe la» — train bowl bc it’s so huge. I’m not a fan of BBH because I don’t like lemongrass, shrimp paste, big slippery noodles, coagulated pig blood, pig feet, spiciness… everything that makes BBH what it is, but most people do and the Special Friend loves everything about it. This BBH is good. The broth is not spicy at all, which I appreciate, but the Special Friend added spices. I gave him all the blood cubes, which prompts him to say I’m perfect for him and that we’re such a good match. The veggies are good — banana blossoms, bean sprouts, mint, red cabbage, lime. The pig feet were still a bit tough, could be more tender. It’s good if you like BBH. I, personally, just don’t care for BBH. I can eat it, but it’s not anything I crave. Since it’s the only thing on the menu… I’m uncertain I will return. However, their Viet iced coffee is good! However, we ordered boba and got jelly, which was still good. I can’t compare it to other places bc I don’t ever order it… I only eat it when people cook it at home and it’s all I have to eat. Yikes. Sorry.

I like how I walk in and they only asked me one question while I had no menu in my hand. The small is enough to fill up someone who doesn’t want to overkill your stomach. If you don’t like their one item, I’d say the drinks are worth the visit. Very unique and not the usual boba you’d see at other places.

I really enjoyed the bun bo hue here! I’ve been to quite a few specialty bun bo hue restaurants in California and Texas. This place exceeds the other places I’ve been to. Keep in mind my favorite will always be my mother’s but I do not expect her quality of cooking at restaurants. They give you a good amount of pork and beef. They give you a good piece of pork feet which is one of my favorites in BBH. The service wasn’t so bad and the nuoc mat drink was really delicious. «Nuoc mat» in Vietnamese means refresh drink and it really did feel quite refreshing! The drink consists of basil seeds, gelatin, and some sugar. It was medium sweet, which I like and not overly sweet! Bun bo hue is one of the top 3 traditional Vietnamese noodle soup dishes and to my taste buds, I did feel they showcased it representatively of how it should taste like. Their spice sauce, tasted homemade as well. I felt like it had a little bit of tamarind, which is very different! However, I liked it because I am a big fan of anything tamarind. They also provided many veggies too. I really have no complaints about this place. By the way, the LARGE bowl is extra extra large. I definitely recommend not getting that unless you have an appetite of an NBA player. The small bowl is what I recommend and it should definitely suffice for any person. I couldn’t even finish the small bowl.

They serve one thing here… bun Bo hue. In my opinion, If you only have one option on your menu, it better be damn good. It’s a converted phở 95 restaurant and they didn’t work to change any interior detailing of it. Food: …surprise surprise, I had the bun bo hue. I was not blown away by it. I feel as if I’ve had better. Their bowls are very deceptive. Even for a small or large, they use GIANT bowls but when you go to eat it, there are barely any noodles or meats… Kinda defeats the purpose for such an overly sized bowl. So would I return? Probably, most like not. I am almost positive that I can find a restaurant that serves the same quality bun Bo hue as well as other dishes in that area…

A spicy Vietnamese soup. Walk in and just tell them what size you want and order your drink.(Has your conventional boba drinks as well.) Veggies are fresh and plentiful. Thicker bun bo noodles. Tastes very, very similar to Dong Ba’s bun bo hue(which is down the street — yes, there is competition if you would like to check it out and compare.) Soup base is a good broth, not too oily. Has pig feet, beef slices, pig blood(huyet heo), and cha. I like the authenticity though. Clean venue, timely service, the soup comes out hot and ready. Theyve added more to the menu. Check out the sign at the entrance.

Bun was ok. Its probably the best in that area. Im from arlington so its abot 30 minute drive for me. Ive had some good bun bo hue in the dallas area so i dont think ill try this place again. I came with my son and he cant eat spicy so i was thinking about getting him something else to eat but i didnt read more into this place because they really only serve bun bo hue, theres no other thing on there menu. They dont have a menu lol. There bun bo hue is good, i give it 3⁄5 only because there isnt any competition. Authentic bun bo hue is totally different. There small bowl is huge and their big bowl is too much. But after eating it there isnt that much food in the small bowl, the size just makes eating it easier if you know what im saying. We also ordered 3 smoothies. Honey dew melon and avacodo smoothies. Its definitely not fresh fruits, more like flavored ice. What really upsets me and i will never go here again is because in our smoothies were metal shavings. We were wondering whats so hard that we were drinking because we didnt get boba. Yes it was sharp metal shavings.

This place replaced the Phở 95. Same set up. There’s literally only 1 thing on the menu besides a variety of drinks. I don’t know what all the hype is about their bun Bo hue, but I didn’t think it was all that great. A few of my friends say that HOP and D Bistro’s bun Bo hue tastes way better. I think it would have been nice to add some appetizers. Since the place is new, they were very unorganized and they placed dirty bowls and utensils on the same counter as the register. So as you’re going up to pay, there were piles of dirty dishes. Who knows, maybe they’ll succeed in the future, but I won’t be going back.

This used to be Phở 95 here. The new restaurant serves the best bun bo hue I’ve tasted in a long time. Or should I say, «the best dog gone bun bo hue yet». Don’t come here looking for Phở cause like the name is the restaurant states, it specializes in Bun Bo Hue only, so if you’re a big fan of it, then do come.
