Veggie omelet was on point! Nice staff. Fresh food. Great prices. They offer breakfast all day which is nice!

Very disappointing… first time i ever was in this café… we waited 26 minutes for eggs… when i got up to get waitress. All were huttled in a group… no concern for customers. When asked for check… she said food was up… paid and l left… will not recommend this place to anyone…

This place is nothing short of amazing! Down home good cooking! We asked the waitress what she liked and she named off at least 5 meals she liked and hen ended with everything we have is awesome… And she was right! My husband got the chicken fried steak and it was huge and delicious! The biscuits are fresh the hash browns are perfect and the coffee is delicious! You might think at first glance that this place could be cluttered but with a little closer look is it one of the coolest diners I have ever been! They do a good job to make sure it is a clean enjoyable place to eat with good music, good service and great food!

This place is great for breakfast or lunch. Service was great and food was fulfilling as well. Right when I walked in, I was greeted and sat at a fairly roomy table. My server was welcoming and knew that I was a first timer, so she gave me extra time to look over the menu. Once the time came, I ordered a chicken fried steak with green beans and corn as my two sides of vegetables. My chicken fried steak was huge! A bigger portion than you would see anywhere else. The green beans and corn were a great pairing with the main entrée. With the portions they serve, I think most people ask for a to-go box for their meal — which I did. To pay, you take the ticket that your server placed on your table after the food was delivered and bring it to the front. If you pay with card, the cashier will ask you if you’d like to tip on the card. They will print out a ticket for you to sign like any other restaurant and then you’ll be on your way. I would come back again!

I have been on a hash browns kick lately and they were good but not as crispy as I like. Eggs were perfect over easy and the kitschy antique diner décor is so cute. I highly recommend to anyone in the area. Only open for breakfast and lunch.

Heard just great things about this place and finally made it by today. The place is adorable and the staff friendly. I had the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes — the steak was ok not great, had a slightly odd taste and the batter not very crispy, potatoes were a little watery. Would Try Again But Order SOMETHING different.

Always as good as I remember! Been coming here since I was itty bitty! Best burgers, taters, biscuits, gravy, grilled cheese, and even down to their mustard! Delicious!

I’ve been going to bluebonnet for the past four years and it’s an old favorite. Down home cooking served up fast and in huge portions plus it’s cheap! The antique décor is fascinating, I love the kitschy room to the right of the entrance most. I’ve had a few rude servers who were slow to boot but every time I’ve had Beverly everything goes perfectly. She’s so sweet, fast and if she ever forgets anything she makes it a top priority to get it to you asap! On your way out there are FREECOOKIES — if you can find room for them. I always take a napkin to wrap ours in. Also, DON’T ORDERTHETUNA.

Chicken fried steak and eggs… oooohhhh yeahhhh. They do a fantastic job on breakfast type items. The biscuit alone is bigger than your head. The CFS was so big, a good portion of it came home in a to-go box. Mrs Possum, however, does not recommend the Friday special of turkey and dressing, even though she ate every bit of it. The turkey was thick deli slices laid on top of box-y dressing. Tasty enough, but fudging a bit on the claims of «homemade.» Overall, this is a decent joint to get a good bite to eat. You can tell it’s popular with the locals because the waitresses were greeting people by name. Two of us ate plus one fountain drink and including tip for less than $ 20 bucks. A good deal. This was not our first visit, and I’m sure it won’t be our last.

Coming back home to Ft. Worth from California to visit family, I needed my fix of Texas food. Unilocal helped me discover The Blue Bonnet Café. Pure Texas all the way. With good country cooking, delightful kitschy décor at a low price this place is worth the visit. The food portions are large and good tasting. I had the Bluebonnet breakfast special: 3 eggs cooked however you want, sausage or bacon, a huge biscuit and gravy and your choice of hash browns or grits. The price? $ 5.75…are you kidding me? Unbelievable. By the time I waddled out I felt like part of the family. Anita was a friendly and attentive waitress. I saw the chicken — fried steak… it lapped over the plate… huge. Gotta go back to give that a try for lunch tomorrow. Fun place.

Food wise this place rocks! But the owner and her daughter are snobby rude women! The other waitresses are very sweet. Don’t know why these two are so snotty!

This is the best breakfast place I have ever eaten at. I just had a simple egg and hash browns type plate but the portions were so big the food was almost overflowing off my plate. Our waitress was very friendly and FAST. Definitely recommend!

I’ve been here twice now, and each time, I’m granted fast and friendly service. I don’t have much time to spare in the mornings before work, so any time a restaurant serves my meal quick and delicious, I give extra points. I love their coffee because it’s strong and flavorful. I had their pecan waffle, bacon, and hashbrowns, and let me tell you— it was ALL good! The hashbrowns were not burnt like at other places, and the portions of food are more than decent for the price. WE’LLBEBACK!

Food is good. To bad you have a terrible servernamed rachel and her rude daughter who’s a hostess. Management didn’t seem to care. And the server rolled her eyes at me when she walked away. Won’t be back! Thank goodness for Anita! If it wasn’t for her. I wouldn’t have gotten my food.

The Bluebonnet Café stands head and shoulders over every other option in Fort Worth. I am a regular here, averaging one visit per month over the past 4 years. The Bluebonnet Breakfast is the best item on the menu. It is their sampler platter, and the three eggs it comes with are always cooked perfectly. Menu price $ 5.75. I have also had the pecan waffles, which I think are unique to Texas. They are excellent. Menu price $ 4.75. Today I selected the Denver Omlette, which is my favorite type– ham, cheese, onions, and green peppers. Also an excellent meal, and only $ 6.75. This place has excellent GRITS, which reminds me of my time in North Carolina. They are famous for their biscuits, which are excellent, and as big as a softball. Although they are amazing, they are too big for me to handle. Skip lunch here. The lunch offerings are sadly average. Head to Earl’s or Mama Mia nearby. The service here is always friendly and prompt. The restaurant is almost always filled. The objects covering the walls are fun, and a great way to entertain my children before the food arrives. Please check this place out next time you are in the eastern half of our great city! (Rated 5* because the overall rating is far too low)

OK, if you’re an I Love Lucy fan, this place is for you. I have NEVER seen so much of a collection on one show before. Its a must see for the fans of that show. The place is a greasy spoon. Lots of grease, lots of flavor, and very friendly servers. They also serve breakfast all day. You get a free cookie when cashing out, but I’m not one to grab cookies from an open jar that everyone’s hands have been in. I’m no germaphobe, but a lot of people do not wash their hands after using the restroom, and thats all I think of when I see a jar of cookies or candy like that.(thanks mom!) All in all, its nothing spectacular, but if a hole in the wall home cooking place is what you want, here it is. with Lucy!
