We are a locally owned and operated The UPS Store location, and we care about our customers. We have the knowledge and expertise to handle all of your mailbox, packing, shipping, and professional printing needs and we are passionate about what we do!

You’ll meet one of our friendly customer service associates when you stop by. All of our associates are certified packing experts.

Whether you are another small business like us that needs help, or simply someone that needs professional printing, customized packaging and shipping solutions, full service mailboxes for us to handle your mail and package receiving, or even shipping large freight items like cars or antiques, our staff can help. We also provide services in graphic design, small business marketing, small business support, wide format printing (including blueprints, posters, and banners) and more.

History

Established in 2001.

When we went into business in 2001, we were Mail Boxes, Etc. UPS approached us in 2003 and made an offer for us to become the premier UPS packing and shipping location in our area. We then transitioned into business as The UPS Store.

Meet the Business Owner

Carlos G.

Business Owner

Carlos and his wife, Anna, have been in the The UPS Store business for quite some time. They began working together in Oakland when the stores were still known as Mail Boxes, Etc. Carlos went in to business here in Half Moon Bay with a business partner and spent years building up the customer base and sales. Carlos and Anna bought out the business partner and took ownership of the location in 2007. Their son Gabriel has grown up in the store and even is the «poster boy» for some of the products the store offers. Carlos and Anna worked each day by themselves until business grew to the point where they could no longer handle it all. It is still commonplace to see Carlos working with customers and providing the service that Half Moon Bay has come to expect when coming in.

At 12:10 p.m. on Friday May 20 I paid $ 109.17 and left a parcel at this store (receipt available if needed) to ship a parcel via USPS to England. Since the USPS tracking number still draws a blank on their Web page 3 days later, I phoned the UPS store.
The call was answered promptly and courteously and the person on the other end provided the information I was seeking. This much is what merits the single star.
However the «action» taken by UPS to date (Monday noon) is despicable to say the least. You see, the UPS store has not yet handed the parcel off to USPS which is less than a mile distant! The prospective recipient of the parcel sounds disappointed, so I am as well.
Compounding the farce is the fact that on Friday afternoon I might have taken the parcel directly to the post office and that this a.m. errands took me past the Half Moon Bay Post Office again.
My fault, I suppose, but I will not visit the UPS store again in the foreseeable future.

Had a less-​than stellar customer service experience at this UPS Store last week, but today CHRISTOPHER’S EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE completely wiped that from my memory. He was absolutely terrific. My office is in Pacifica, but I was in Half Moon Bay to see a client and urgently needed something printed. As in, within the NEXT TEN MINUTES. No problem… I called Christopher and he said he’d handle it personally. I emailed the documents from a nearby coffee shop, and they were ready and waiting upon my arrival for a grand total of 77 cents. So very convenient… I will definitely be a repeat customer at this location.

Sometimes you are just mailing something back you didn’t like. Sometimes you ran out of printer ink and need some copies. But sometimes you have something very precious to do. Carlos and Anna (the husband and wife team that own this store) have a passion for what they do. They get when it isn’t just a package or it isn’t just any old copy job. They listen and they care. They make sure it’s right. Thank you both! The 52 8×10’s were the hit of the wedding!

About a year ago I was in a nightmare situation. I work for a corporation that had bought out the Ritz Carlton for an annual 4-​day event. As part of one of the activities, the planning team (which I was apart of) had purchased over $ 15,000 worth of different sporting equipment off Amazon to assemble and donate to charity.
Unfortunately, just a couple days before the event, the whole thing got cancelled. They tried to recoup as much of the lost costs as possible which resulted in me having to return over 50 shipments of amazon items back to their sellers as everything had already been delivered to the hotel.
I spent almost three full days days shuttling shipments between the Ritz and this UPS store and the staff was the only reason I didn’t lose my mind. I wish I could still remember the name of the man who helped me, but after I had explained my story, he always greeted me with a smile, helped me box and package truck-​full shipments.
I was even surprised when he advised me to go to USPS for cheaper shipping costs for a few shipments based on their return location.
Overall great service, the staff was friendly, and worked quickly, and made the whole process relatively easy given the tediousness of the tasks I was given.

Our non profit uses this wonderful UPS store for all its printing needs. Carlos and his staff are amazing and always client centered. They work hard and have done amazing work for our program. They also make every effort to get the jobs done quickly! This is the best place for printing on the peninsula! Thanks UPS!

Worst customer service I have ever experienced, lazy server that spent her time yawning. …if you don’t want the job then give it to those that are willing to help.
Ups store is a drop off location, refused to take package, didn’t know what a shipping label looks like, just plain and simple

This store is a pain in the neck to deal with. I have been there several times and each time the process gets longer and longer just to ship a package via UPS. Today, now it is a new form (to CYA) that has so much small type I could (had to be 15 – 20 sections) not even read it with bifocals. What should be a simple process where you give your phone number and all your data is stored has turned into a cumbersome process of filling out forms and fielding questions about how it’s packed. It is all upsell and attempts to cover their backsides. I asked it this was UPS or their store policy — they told me it was THEIR STORE POLICY AND THIER FORMS.
If you really want to use UPS, go to Staples. In and out in 5 min. Does not need to be this hard and time consuming.

I was in a rush and needed something printed from my phone. I called this UPS Store (AS IT WAS CLOSE TO WHERE I WAS) and they were a life saver. I didn’t catch the name of the lady who helped me, but she was great! She printed everything for me, stapled it, and told me it was 10 cents a page. I was sold! Thanks UPS Store in HMB for making that easy.
Tip: Email documents to the store email and they’ll have them ready for you as you walk in the door.

They saved our $ 100 Christmas gift! We recycle our packing Styrofoam «peanuts» by bringing them to this store for re-​use. Unbeknownst to me, my mother in law had put a very small package at the bottom our box of gifts so it accidentally was left in the box of peanuts. We would never have known that we were missing a $ 100 check from her EXCEPT that the UPS store found it, unwrapped it, and then TRACKED DOWN MY MOTHER IN LAW to find out who it was intended for. They called us and we came to pick it up. In addition to the great customer service they always offer, now they are Christmas elves.

The UPS store in Half Moon Bay is excellent. I believe it was Stephanie and Chris that worked with me on this project, but I have got excellent service from everyone I’ve worked with here. We had a death in the family and had to send out about 750 notifications to various people. Stephanie and Chris helped me print out all the notifications and envelopes. I was very sad and stressed out and they were very understanding and kind. My order was completed very quickly. At one point when we were discussing options, I told them to use their best judgment. The options they chose were better than what I would have come up with. They made a difficult job a lot easier, at a very tough time in my life. I cannot thank them enough. All the other times I’ve been in there they have been fantastic as well.

I love this place! Sent a PDF to them and they emailed me back they had three different proofs to view… went in and they printed and cut for me in a matter of minutes. It’s cheaper having them print in color than to do on my own printer! Yay! Staff is all nice and super helpful!

I just have to say, that the peeps in the Half Moon Bay UPS store are the best! Every year they help me make my Christmas cards, as well as helping me with other projects throughout the year. They are nothing like Kinkos, where they point you in the direction of one of their complicated machines and say, «good luck…» They are A1 in helpfulness, customer service, and all round nice people.

My only complaint about The UPS Store is that everything is so damned expensive! Shipping services, faxing (yeah I’ve actually had to come here to send a fax before… yeah I must’ve time-​warped back to 1998), supplies, etc. But that’s it. Otherwise, I’ve always had a pleasant consumer experience here. The service is always extremely friendly and helpful, the location is easy to get to, and there’s plenty of parking outside.

The UPS store in Half Moon Bay is great. I have used a mailbox there for a number of years. They are all really cool and friendly. They know you and sometimes have your packages out from the back as soon as they see you. And I tend to get a lot of packages.

The Half Moon Bay UPS store is fantastic! I had a last minute project to print and my home printer ran out of ink. Yikes! I sent an email SOS to UPS and they had my order ready in record time! They not only met my expectations, but well exceeded it. And they are so nice and helpful — we are very lucky to have them in Half Moon Bay.

Just a quick update. Service has been a little better at this store. Seems the employees that are there now take more pride in their work than last July. Manager/​Owner has been very friendly and helpful. I still visit this store at least pnce a week. No problems since my first review.

This adventure started when my mom and dad had an emergency while visiting me. It meant they had to extend their stay and that they were unable to take their luggage on the plane when they left as they had to use walkers and wheel chairs to navigate.
I called them and explained my issues and they were very courteous on the phone. They let me know what times I would have to have my stuff to the store to get overnight delivery (4:00 pm) and that they could help me pack it. We were set.
The only staggering thing about the UPS store and their services are the prices. If we had to have our boxes there over night it would average about $ 125 per box… woa! We decided to go for a slower trip… saved us a lot of money.
The service was awesome: they packed and boxed our items, no worries there. They were looking for a five day delivery, for costs sake.
In the end, mom and dad were able to get on the plane with no worries about the luggage: which was our goal…
It all came exactly on time, just as they said it would. It was in great condition and mom was happy. That is what matters, keeping the folks happy! They did what they said and that is awesome. Im a fan

Really great service. The owner is always around, and he and the staff are friendly and helpful.
One caveat is that the address of your mailbox will be pretty long because it will have both a suite # and a box #. But I always get my mail, even if the address is wrong.
