Quest Diagnostics

Well, it was nice while it lasted. Just went over to Quest to have regular follow-​up blood work done, and the office is empty. They have moved to Foster City (15 miles away). The sign on the door said it was «…so that they could better serve the needs of the growing patient population». Now I may be dense, but I fail to see how moving 15 miles away is going to serve us locals better. The office was open, I believe, less than a year. I guess there just wasn’t enough blood being drawn on the Coastside. What a pain!

Ok, I am not one to usually complain but after visiting this lab and leaving before anything was done I just have to «yelp». I went into the lab at 10:30 and was the only person in there besides the receptionist and who I presume was the one to draw my blood. She said to sign my name and take a seat. 45 minutes later after several people came in I asked her why the wait. She was sitting there the entire time thumbing through papers about as slow as anyone could. She typed a few characters into her computer and said my name was in there but not my recurring lab draw. What! I have been coming to Quest for years. I asked if she could call my doctor’s office and she said no that I had to call and have them fax over the lab request and that after that was done I would be helped after all the other people who entered after me. At that point I wanted nothing to do with a business that would make me wait that long and not say a word about ANYTHING so I left. I live in Half Moon Bay and thought this was going to be a real find and would save me driving over the hill for the testing. I would not recommend this lab and will not return.

Had to do some bloodwork recently, and was VERY happy to see that Quest had opened up in HMB… so didn’t have to go over the hill… worth two stars right there… yeaaaaaaaa!!!
Went online and made an appt — filled in all my info, got my appt email, life was good.
Showed up at the appt time, and they knew NOTHING about me. First minor ding… why make an appt if no one knows?
Second ding — ALL my information had to be manually entered. Again, strange… why have me fill out forms online if it doesn’t actually get utilized?
That aside… the vampire… er…technician did a phenom job of getting a needle in without attempting to find China, or seeing how far I could jump. In fact, probably about the best needle experience I’ve had (and trust me, I’ve seen the dark side of that experience… needles broken, needles bent, prying me off the ceiling, etc). This was good.
Nice touch was after the extraction, the tech had me double-​check her labeling to ensure that my blood had my name on them. Smart!
Overall, locally I gotta give these two women a five. The fact that Quest doesn’t actually seem to connect their systems together draws it down to a four star review.
DEFINITELY beats going over the hill… yeaaaaaaaaa!!!

Absolutely Fantastic! It is wonderful finally having a Quest Lab on the coast. The girls were friendly and fast. The lab is well organized, clean and the staff professional. It is so nice not to have to drive over the hill to have lab work drawn. A fantastic addition to the coast side!

New to the Coast! Super convenient location for those who don’t want to drive across the hill. Jasmin and Lisa are very friendly and know what they’re doing. The lab is in the same building as Coldwell Banker, on the first floor.
