Zip Isle Zip Line

Loved zip lining here for the first time! The guys were friendly and fun! They kept us informed of what to do and made sure we always followed directions but at the same time were funny and relaxed.
They start off on smaller lines to ease you into it and that worked out well for my family and I. The cost was very reasonable compared to the other ones on the island plus they have the maze and segways if you want to add more adventure.
They took lots of great photos during our time there so that was really great to purchase at the end. They email you a file with all the pictures and there you have it!
Tip: We came at a perfect time for all the mosquitos. My mom wore leggings and didn’t get eaten alive like the rest of us that had worn some deet. So if I were to go again, light covered clothes is a must and an extra layer of deet, off and anything else to keep those awful Mosquito’s away!

LOVED! My husband, 4 year old son and I had an absolute zip lining with Kolani and Dylan. We were worried our son (being just over the allowed 35 lbs and their youngest zipper yet) wouldn’t have fun or be scared, but the guides were so cool and made him feel so confident he literally went down first on each line! My husband and I have gone previously in st. Lucia and puerto viarta and this was definitely one of our best experiences! The guides break for you so you don’t have to worry as you go across and the lines were really fun (between two trees so you sort of dangerous, etc.) Also the guides pointed out lots of fruits and plants and let us try things the entire time. The oldest person in our group was probably 60 and she looked like she had just as much fun as my 4 yr old so I highly recommend this tour for all ages. Oh I almost forgot, this place was affordable as well!!! Cheapest deal I found on the island and worth every penny!

The family had a great time at the gardens. Some went on the ziplining while others road the segways.
The guides (Kai, Kelani, Keanu) were fantastic and very comical. They also gave some great insight to the local life and activities. We will definitely come back again on our next visit to the Big Island.

Had such an amazing experience! Ipo and Kai were the best guides we could ask for, they were patient, kind and had a great sense of humor. Def got the best bang for our buck! Talk about buck, they take photos of you throughout the whole experience and can send you photos via email for a very small fee. I am coming back, maybe next time for their Full Moon Party Zips! So much fun! Found this company through Groupon and I’m so glad we did! It was the perfect course for the three of us who had never zipped before. The guides were AMAZING! They answered all of our questons and made us feel so at ease. They knew all sorts of interesting history about the Island and the park. They told us all about the safety measures and just totally rocked their jobs! If you are a newbie, I highly recommend this course. There were other courses available on the Island, but I believe this was the PERFECT course for newbies. We’ll be back to try the night time zips!

We were on a family vacation in Hawaii and the kids got excited about zip lining after seeing pictures in a magazine. Most places didn’t allow kids under 16 but Zip Isle has the equipment and staff to handle our younger ones. From the initial phone call to the local bananas they gave us on the way out, the entire staff was welcoming, helpful and fun while always putting safety first.
Kai, Keanu and Arvin took us through the course which winds through the botanical gardens. Friendly and informative they seemed to be having just as much fun as we were. Easily the most fun outing on our week long stay.

My first zip line experience was GREAT! The guys were so helpful and knowledgeable about the terrain. Walking through the beautiful forest, seeing the huge mango trees, and trying these exotic fruits from the trees! Wow. I was fearful at first, and they were good in dissipating the fear to a very positive experience!

Located on the Hamakua coast, the Segway and zip line activity is highly recommended. Our Segway guides were Keanunui and Ipo. With a group of 6 and this being our first time to use a Segway, they made it very comfortable and easy to use.
A few hours later, we did the zip line. That was an awesome experience! My boyfriend doesn’t like heights but he completed 7 lines and had fun! Thank you to our guides Kai, Chad and Ipo. They made the activity so much fun. From the time I booked the reservations with Tiff and purchasing our pictures at the end, this staff is fantastic! They love their jobs and it shows. Thank you Zip Isle Zip line!

Double posting this review since it’s pretty much the same place!
For my first time ziplining, I had many different expectations. I was scared, but excited at the same time. Our first line — my brother in law went first cuz the fear got too strong. It was just a baby line to teach us the basics (turning and whatnot). As we progressed, I became more comfortable and freely spun myself. I’m super glad we didnt’ have to break ourselves, the guides were nice enough to do it for us. I really think the guides made a world of difference. They were really fun and helpful! I kind of wish the lines were longer though overall.
Try it! You’ll have a great time if you are a beginner :)

Had a great time, the equipment was clean, the staff was awesome, and the 7 ziplines were fun.
They start out small, and get longer, and faster as it goes on.
Rain or Shine, the show goes on, and remember — you are in a rainforest, so come prepared for RAIN, but wear layers, it can turn sunny in a split second, then pour down rain the next minute.
We went as a group of 7, ages 13 – 53, everyone was all smiles and talked about it the entire trip home.
FYI — we did the Segways also — a MUST DO, the entire age group had a blast!

Wow! The ziplining was so much fun! We got awesome guides, Arlen and Dovie. We felt safe and secured the whole time. They really know what they are doing. The suspension bridge was great, along with the different lines. Overall, we will def come back again for more!

Awesome tour! We did the zipline as well as the segway botanical ride. Me & my family had so much fun and our tour guides Arlen, Miles, Keanu & the tiny fun female guide (kalamai couldn’t remember her name) were awesome… so friendly! Definitely a must go!!!

Amazing! Best thing we’ve done yet since we’ve been in Hawaii! The guides were amazing and everyone was super nice and welcoming! Want to go back already!!! This place is a must go!!!

Aloha! On the big island this is a must do activity. My family and I (total of 7) did the Segway of Hawai’i off-​road rainforest tour and it was AWESOME! Our tour guide Myles was fabulous, knowledgeable, friendly and super fun. This activity can be done with all ages. I’ve never rode a segway and was pleasantly surprised that it was a super easy to learn and feel comfortable. Great fun! Great sites! Great people! This tour was great! I found a groupon and had never ziplined on the Big Island before so I was super excited! The guides were hilarious. And they fed us plenty of fruits from the trees during the tour. After living in Hawaii for awhile, I was impressed with the tour, discussion of plants and trees, and the beautiful land it is on. Would definitely recommend!

Would have given a 5 but 3 is on point due to the Asian woman manager. Who lied about allowing my kids on the Segways! No bueno! But Jen saved the day. ;)
they said after the fine print & the purchase through Groupon that my 9 & 10 yr not allowed. My wife asked & they said if they weigh over 70 & we re good with their motor skills they could probably do it but that would b determined. Well the long of the short they were allowed on in a controlled area & they handled them no prob. They had a blast! Make sure you are cool with the guides & they’ll swing it.

The SCARIEST thing I have ever done in my life but… it is also the MOST EXCITING thing I have ever done in my life!!!

They give great instruction how to put on safety equipment. They make it fun and interesting… even though some people (like me) are scare to death!!! hahaha~
Total 7 zip line… the first few are short and low. I like that because baby steps…
After a few tries, I got to warm up and I wanted MORE & MORE!
The last zip line… the view is unbelievable! The whole experience is nothing you can describe in words till you try it out yourself.
Will I do zip line again? HELL YA~ :D

I wanted to fly in the sky and this was as daring as I was about to get.
This Zip Isle venue was perfect for this ol’ lady.
Seven lines of fun! 1 & a half hours of fun!
We sure lucked out because we were the only ones signed up for the early time slot and we got a private tour with the fantastic team of Jen & Preston.
They’re both so personable and informative!
Not only did they take care of us on the zip lines, they gave info on the tropical plants we encountered along the way. Preston even picked some water apples and tropical apricots right off the trees for us to try.
I kind of had to talk the hubby into doing this. Not because he was a scaredy-​cat, but because he was concerned about some health issues I have. Eh, he worries about me too much. I was determined to do something like this.
(It only took two weeks of wheedling.)
I researched all the ziplines on the Big Island and this one suited me best.
Five years ago, I was walking on crutches and the recovery took a long time.
I didn’t want the experience to be too taxing. Just fun.
He enjoyed it as much as I did.
We agree that this was an excellent adventure!
We also lucked out with the weather. Beautiful sunshine and a cool breeze.
Zipping over the trees and the streams was awesome!
Truly, the best adventure of our vacation.

Part of the package was admission to the World Botanical Gardens and directions to a fantastic waterfall waaaay up on the top of the mountain.
There’s also a suspension bridge to cross!
I’ve never done this either. Loved it!
Thank goodness they tether you to a line and that Preston stayed right behind me the entire crossing. He probably recognized that despite my bravado, I really wanted to make shi-​shi in my pants!

Helmet cams available for rent. We did fine with our camera on a tether though.
I’d share a pic of me zipping thru the air, but all the pics of me had my mouth wide open and my eyes crossed. But it looked like I was having a grand ol’ time!

Edited to add: My husband was talking about saimin and P & J both said «Go to Nori’s!». These two know their food too! We had an excellent last meal in Hilo thanks to their recommendation.

It’s not the biggest course I have been on but was not disappointing. We had a lot of fun zipping around, the guides were professional, and we got a lesson on different plants on the way.
There are mosquitos on this sine of the island, we sprayed our legs/​arms and were fine.
They sell mosquito repellent wipes but not ponchos, so come prepared if it’s raining!
The last zip is a double one so you can race your buddy to the finish!

Zip! Zip! Zip! Definitely something to do when you’re on the Big Island! My husband and I drove all the way from the west side of the island to do some ziplining as part of our honeymoon.
Zip Isle wasn’t too hard to find. With your reservation you also get access to the World Botanical Gardens which we got to check out before our morning ziplining adventure.
*IMPORTANT NOTE* It’s more wet on this side of the island, so wear whatever mosquito repellant you can! Our legs are still recovering from the number those bugs did on us.
Our guides were Kevic and CJ — very friendly, super cool local dudes who were funny and very informative. All 7 of our ziplines got progressively easier, more beautiful and more fun! The trek to each one also gave us a chance to learn about the surrounding wildlife. You can also bring your camera with you to capture all the fun.
After this adventure, the husband and I are HOOKED and would love to zipline again! Zip Isle is highly recommended (and slightly cheaper than other ziplining companies on the Big Island).
