The service is as friendly as you’ll find anywhere, but the food is just average. The biscuits are not fresh and they’re not very good. If you like crisp bacon, they nail that! The drink portions were kid sized.

What a great little greasy spoon! We went while passing through town based on Unilocal reviews. Unilocalers don’t disappoint. Just a charming little place full of sweet grandma’s in scrubs making delicious down home southern comfort food. Go for the food and enjoy the experience.

stopped off here on a road trip. My small family was greeted at the door like we were regulars. The people in here are great. There were some interesting items on the menu like the Hominy and Puddin’ which of course I had to try. The daughter of the owners told me, «she’s glad young guys like me are keeping those kinds of foods from dying out!» I liked the taste of it but I was more excited by the overall feel of the place. Real homestyle cooking with a regional vibe(in a region that I didn’t know had it’s own vibe). There’s that slight Maryland accent that reminds me of a Philly accent. Well, Roanoke is the next stop. Stopping here is perfect for anyone traveling interstate 81. I will be back on my next trip.

Great little place. They have fried bologna and spam if that floats your boat! Also corn fritter pancakes. The hash was excellent as was everything else.

Food was great and wait staff made us feel right at home. Western omelette with a side order of potatoes got my day off to perfect start. Couple cups of coffee really complimented my meal.

Slow service — 0ver 10-minutes to get coffee and water. 30 more minutes for country ham and eggs. Asked for dry wheat toast and was given white toast drowning in margarine. However the reason I will never go back is the constant bickering between the staff and the cashier badmouthing a customer loud enough for the entire restaurant to hear after he walked out the door… Why — because he complained it took 30-minutes to get his half order of pancakes!

Great little local greasy spoon from yesteryear. Parking can be tough and seating is limited, but it’s worth the struggle for a perch at the counter to watch the short order cook make magic happen. Their corned beef hash is outta sight! Love the local & old timey things they have on the menu, including pudding, ponhaus, hominy & grits. If you’re passing through Hagerstown, do yourself a favor and give this gem a try… places like this won’t be around forever, sadly.

Great little diner! The ladies that run the place are fantastic! The menu has good prices and we all really liked their food as well. The menu is a little small, but so is the restaurant, which adds to the charm. We had a variety of items, from pancakes to burgers. We all left satisfied and full!

We were out running errands and wanted a quick breakfast. I checked Unilocal for nearby diners and found J&M Grill with highest ratings. We had omelets, bacon toast and home fries. Great food, great service and super quick. Very small place, has all grandma types cooking and cleaning. A gem in Hagerstown, don’t let the outside or location stop you. Not much in looks but good food and people. And did I mention how darn nice everyone was?

This is a great little diner with the standard«Diner» food you would expect. Often crowded or full. Usually when you walk in, if someone is finishing up, they will call out to you, «you can sit here».

By far the best local breakfast joint in Hagerstown. True home cooking in front of your eyes. Always full of locals talking about what’s going on in town. They have Corn Beef & Hash, Ponhause, and even Puddin it’s great!

GREAT little diner! We stumbled upon this place for breakfast and were pleasently surprised. Amazing customer service, prices were cheap and the food was good. This is a real old-school diner that you sadly don’t find too many of anymore. It’s well worth the stop.

Stopped by for lunch today!!! It had been a few years since I was there!!! If you are looking for fancy — — DON’T stop!!! But if you are looking for an old style Community Grill, then this is your place!!! Good Down Home Food at a great price!!! This is the type«Grill» that could be found throughout communities decades ago!!! It is still a part of history!!!
