Food was delivered promtly. Server was attentive. Very pleasant experience. Had no room for dessert.

Only place I know that has the REAL lemon coolers. I was up here for work, and I finally was able to walk into a damned Cracker Barrel. It had been a couple years… I knew right where the cookies were, and got two boxes… and left. Lemon coolers!!! I am sure the staff would offer ecoli meatloaf if asked.(just joking). The meatloaf kicks ass at Cracker Barrel.

We are regular customers of the Cracker Barrel here in Hagerstown. Enough so that most people that work there recognize us as regular customers at least once a week. That being said they have been going down hill as of late. I usually don’t send meals back but the last 2 times I ate there the food has been sub-par at best. The waitress even commented that it «didn‘t look right» to which I ask why did you serve it then? I am not going into detail about what we ordered but for breakfast this morning our food was cold & overcooked a unique feat if I must say so myself. Now they eventually made it right but why do we have to keep complaining!!! I am to the point of looking for somewhere else for a regular place to eat. I also would think after two meals in a row complained about to the same, manager who knows us, they would have at least given us a break on our meal not that we were expecting to be comped but the offer would have gone a long way with these soon to be former regular customers.

A typical Cracker Barrel for your dining pleasure. We arrived at a busy time but it didn’t take long to get seated(+) We were waited on quickly by a very friendly waitress.(+) We waited a verrrrrry long time for our meal to arrive. Simple food, cheeseburger, fries and another sandwich.(-) The food was mediocre nothing to write home about or get on the fence and crow about.(-) The waitress was very pleasant and helpful and stopped by to let us know that our food was being cooked and should be out soon. However for a simple meal a half-hour or more wait isn’t really acceptable.

WORSTEXPERIENCE!!! As a previous employee of cracker barrel and a current server, i have never experienced service this terrible. And trust me. I know what it is like to live off what you make that night from tips. I understand that when a server is off their game that the service is under par. But tonight myself my boyfriend and daughter went; and we will not be returning. I know how things work at this establishment. To begin with, we were seated in the corner, by the window and froze… our entire meal. Our drinks. Never refilled. We asked for biscuits, which came to us like hockey pucks. Cold and hard. Asked for Apple Butter 3x. When our food came. Everything was cold. My daughters burger. Over cooked and chared. Her fries. Mushy from the grease. Mac and cheese scrapped from the side of the pan. My boyfriends steak. Cold. He likes it cooked medium. Mashed potatoes solid and cold. I asked for brown gravy. I was given what looked like beef stew… carrots and onion chucks, which was also cold because it was lumpy. my chicken was not fully cooked and greasy. Dirty dishes piled on our table were never removed. Had to flag down other servers to get ketchup for my daughter also asked for napkins that never came. Our server never came back to check on us till we pushed everything away and asked if we wanted desert. At this point. I decided i would not be leaving her a tip. I chose not to speak with a manager because ive been in that position. It takes a manager forever to make it to a table because at this point they are being pulled ten different ways from whiny spoiled customers who expect everything for nothing. And i did not wanna be one of those people tonight. I paid my bill and left peacefully. Knowing i could have raised and uproar. But as ive steamed about this all evening. I felt it was best put in a review. I have never been in a Cracker Barrel and received this kind of service. Nor had the food come to the table so disgusting. So hopefully this will make the emoloyees and managers realize not everyone dining is unaware of how things are run in the restaurant field. Good luck for next time.

Great Cracker Barrel on the way from Oklahoma City to Baltimore. Food was delicious. Service was good. Iced tea wasn’t iced at all. A big cup of luke warm tea. I asked for cup of ice. Added tea to it and was left with a big cup of watery tea. Have a back up CB! You go through enough iced tea during the day… figure it out!

Seems as though Cracker Barrels in this region specialize in ensuring the dining experience of those at a table for one is less than those with two or more. Food was subpar, they ran out of mashed potatoes and the waitress couldn’t remember that a portion of my order came to my table and not the one next to me. I’m not impressed as of late.

Food is always great and delicious! Customer service is excellent! I remember about 10 years ago, when I accidentally left my purse at Cracker Barrel in NC, I called them and they mailed it to me. I said to myself, wow! this is a great restaurant to stop by when you are traveling.

Cracker Barrel has a following of its own, and if you love it there it’s somewhere you visit at least monthly. Well, during a business road trip I recently had my first Cracker Barrel experience– and unless there is nothing else around– it will probably be my last. I was excited to try Cracker Barrel during lunchtime since I often drive by a huge billboard boasting the Cracker Barrel lunch specials. When I looked at the menu, I searched for these specials and became super disappointed when I found them. Instead of a variety of specials– they run two for each day of the week, one that changes and the other a soup and salad. The food was ehhh at best. I ended up ordering the soup and salad lunch special, opting for the chicken corn chowder soup. The salad was okay, nothing special. There were a few wilted lettuce pieces I had to pick out. The soup, well I would not suggest it. It came out warm and the chicken really needed to be cut into smaller pieces. In addition to the restaurant, there is a country store filled with nick-nacks, decorations, food, and candies that you probably don’t need– non the less it was more attractive then the food and interesting to walk around looking at. I wanted to like you Cracker Barrel, but it just didn’t work out.

Horrible location. we get there we sat for 10 minutes 8 people(servers) one of which was the manager, no one even bothered to get our drinks order. So we end up leaving without being served, and no one from the staff even cared that we were walking out. We are extremely high tippers so whoever would’ve been our server just lost a very good tip. And we’re never coming back to this location. And the fat bald manger should’ve been more concerned with the 2 customers who have been sitting there getting ignored than yelling at his server about a salt on a table in front of us. The place wasn’t even busy, there were only 2 tables there. So walked out across the street to McDonald’s and got a stellar customer service in compression to the nonexistent customer service Cracker Barrel has.

I was reminded why is been 2 years since I’ve been in here when we visited again this morning for breakfast. Welcome to the place where you pay way too much for small servings of mediocre food. Food arrived at our table cold. It should also be noted that they don’t inform you if there is an extra charge for something. We asked if cheese was included on the breakfast sandwich and our waitress told us «yes it is an option» only to find on the check that it is an option only if you want to pay $ 1.20 for a half slice of processed American cheese. The waitress brought the check to us at the time they typically come to check if you are enjoying the meal or if you need anything else… It was as if she knew we wouldn’t enjoy and thought we would be anxious to leave. She was right and I should have followed her lead, BUT I was still hungry and thought I’d order a «bowl» of grits. What she brought was one of those tiny side dish bowls that normally has 7 grapes in it… probably ¼ of a cup of grits which we were charged $ 2.00 for. We just left to go have breakfast…

Food is consistently good here but I can’t say that for the staff. Hostess(young girl dark hair) was rude. We had a party of 10 which I let the host(male) know that we needed a high chair as well. The female brings us to a table that has 9 chairs and I said«we need another chair» her response was«I don’t know where you want me to put it» my response was«EXCUSEME!» we didn’t want her to ruin our experience and time with family so my family made it happen by pulling the table out and adding a chair to one end.(was that too difficult for her?) staff really needs a lesson on customer service… you don’t speak to someone spending money that way!

One of my favorite breakfast hotspots. I got the country fried steak and the wifey got French toast. Mine was good. Came out hot and love their biscuits and apple butter. My wife still not sure the of French toast made with sourdough bread but overall she liked it. The waitress was nice and attentive. Walked around the shop afterwards and got a candy bar with bacon and potato chips in it and another with red velvet. Both were pretty awesome!

Yikes. We’ve done quite a few CB’s. While roadtripping, we appreciate the consistency of the chain, the fireplace is fantastic in the winter, and we usually know what we’re going to eat before we walk in, which is good when we pull off the interstate, usually hungry and needing a potty break. This one was not good. They weren’t terribly busy so I’m not sure what the excuse was. Our server looked like she was miserable and refused to make eye contact so we couldn’t flag her down when we needed something. Half of my dinner was cold but I ate it anyway. He tried to get a burger 3 times!!! cooked medium, and the manager came over frantically and apologetically explaining that his cook could only turn them out well-done. He comp’d our meal but I don’t know about you, I don’t go into restaurants hoping for a bad experience in exchange for free food. Anyway, we’ll skip this one in the future and head to the next exit.

Great food and friendly service at this cracker barrel off Route 70 in Hagerstown. The food is so cheap for all that you get, it’s always warm and pretty speedy! There’s nothing like the taste of fine home country cooking, and cracker barrel never disappoints! Our waiter took time to talk to us about all the pies they had on the dessert menu, and we tried a piece of the apple pecan pie that was absolutely delicious. The main meal(chicken and dumplins is what I ordered) was delicious, dessert was fantastic… and the sweet tea was worth the trip alone! See you soon, cracker barrel!

I heart biscuits!!! And cracker barrel !! So the store is just like every cracker barrel store. Awesome. So to the food. They have a new holiday sunrise sampler. So I HAD to try it. The cinnamon biscuit was heaven. It was like a cinnamon roll in biscuit form! So soft. So good. I would go just for them. Hopefully it will be permanent! As for the rest, it was awesome. Good biscuits. Good eggs. Good bacon. Good cheeeeesy! Hashbrowns. I could live on these too. And fried apples! :) Makes me want to go now… So this location is near the hagerstown outlets. On the other side of the highway. Not really too hard to find.

I like this place, I really do. But, I am sick and tired of paying $ 35. For breakfast and getting bacon cooked hours ago. Chewy and cold, or eggs over and cold as well. Seriously if I wanted cold breakfast I would just eat cereal . To me very and always disappointing . Waffle House at least gets the hot food thing down right.

We love this place. We go to Cracker Barrel many times. Today I brought my boyfriend’s family to have lunch(4 adults, 3 kids). We ordered 3 kids meal and 4 entrée but server she messed up with the kids order. We ordered kid’s meal with shrimp with a side of mac n cheese but she brought a meal of mac n cheese. Also we ordered kids grilled chicken with side of baked potato. We got grilled chicken with a side of mac n cheese instead. So we ordered kid’s meal with shrimp again for the boy and the server she realized that she brought wrong side for the boy so she brought a baked potato with kid’s meal with shrimp together after. When we got the bill we got charged for 4 kids meals instead of 3(i didn’t mind about got charged for 4 kids meal cos we took extra meal home and didn’t want to give the server hard time) and also extra charge $ 2.99 for a baked potato. Did baked potato supposed to be included in kids meal? So i told the server and she just took a dollar off from the bill. After i paid everything i just realized i got charged for extra soda. We had 2 strawberry ice tea, 1 strawberry lemonade and 4 sprites(3 for kids, 1 for adult) when the server brought us the drinks. We got everything except my strawberry lemonade. She brought me sprites instead. So i told her i order strawberry lemonade. Then she took my wrong sprites back and gave me my drink. I think 3 sprites included in kids meal. So i supposed to get charged just 1 sprites not 2 sprites. She didn’t take extra soda off. The food was pretty good. Everybody enjoyed the meal. The service was nice but i think she is pretty new and never take care of a big party table. Its kinda frustrated when i realized she messed up with my ordered but i will come back. We love the food and service. Just kinda disappointed today.

If you like country style food out of a box, bag, or freezer then come on down to the Hagerstown Cracker Barrel. While the service was prompt and friendly(really they earned the stars or this review would be a 0⁄5) the food was so pedestrian and awful that I’m certain I’ll never return. I got the fried chicken breast, mashed potatoes and gravy, and the fried apples. All were about as high quality as if my 6-year-old nephew microwaved them. Even nastier — the gravy was a solid, not a liquid. I was able to lift it off the potatoes(from a box) like a flapjack. To top off the nasty, the iced tea and lemonade was artificial and syrupy. Save your money and microwave your chicken at home.

I think its interesting that they have a gift shop as lobby so you can check out things while you shop but if you don’t want to buy there stuff there is nowhere to sit. I went into the bathroom hoping to waste some time and it smelled horrible. The feminine hygiene containers were reeking and practically overflowing, plus they had a line because only 2 bathrooms were working at the time. About 15 minutes after waiting we were taken to our table a few feet from the open fire place. The waitress brought us our drinks i believe it was raspberry lemonade and it was delicious but not worth the 10 minute wait. The place didn’t seem too busy only filled to half occupancy so it left me wondering why the long time. I looked over the menu and it had alot of different options for both breakfast lunch and dinner. I ordered the breakfast meal with the fried apples, biscuits and gravy, pancakes and eggs. The sausage gravy was the worst i’ve ever had. Taste just like flour water with a hint of pepper but no real sausage flavor. Yuck! the so called fried apples were not what i was expecting. I thought it would have a crispy outside like how most if not all fried foods are but nope it was simply warmed apples tossed in cinnamon with that jelly like sauce. It arrived cold and once again bland to the taste, how does an apple not taste like an apple? Finally once i was ready to leave the waitress hadn’t showed up to the table for 20 minutes even though i saw her cruising other tables constantly. I had to call for her just to get her attention. She received a tip based on the price of our beverages since they were the only things that taste good. I found one back home but i guarantee the food will taste the same even if the service is better. Reminds me of a low class eat n park with a southern feel… I won’t be eating here again!

Awww buddy, I love me some Cracker Barrel, and because I live in thee good ol Baltimore I don’t go as often as they are few and far between. Location: Near the Hagerstown Outlets, LARGE sign can’t miss it. Service: Alright, I think our server was a bit frazzled, it seemed like she had several tables, but she handled herself well, answered questions about new menu items, gave suggestions, etc. Food: Well the big CB reminds me of the down home place where your grandma cooks in that big ol black iron skillet. Okay, just me? Anywho, I wanted to try something new(to me) so I got the chicken and rice, the new cucumber tomato salad and broccoli. The chicken and rice came with I believe a brown seasoned rice, and mushroom gravy. I mean it was good, I felt that the rice was a little underdone, but the chicken and gravy was on point! The cucumber tomato salad just was… blah. I thought it would have some sort of dressing on it. Who woulda thunk? Anywho, perhaps I shouldn’t have tried something new and just gotten what I always get. Curse these hips and my desire to shrink! I will always return to the Cracker Barrel, it is my home, the fatty’s paradise. YES!

Cracker Barrel is really what inspired my day trip to Hagerstown and it was WELL worth it. It’s a great location right down the street from outlets. I was craving for some down home country food. Who knew I only needed to drive 1 hour north of Silver Spring to feel like I was way down south! The food — OMG! It was excellent– flavorful and dirt cheap! We ordered the pancakes for appetizer, highly suggest you do the same if you are torn between breakfast and dinner like we were. The biscuits that came with dinner… melted LITERALLY in my mouth! Not to mention with the dinner you get to choose 3 sides! That’s right 3 sides– when’s the last time you seen that? For three people to have a full dinner with a stack of pancakes as an app was $ 42! In DC, $ 42 can get you some drinks and one appetizer. What put this place over the top was our server, Rudy. He was so sweet, very attentive and prompt. Before we even got food he gave extra napkins. Before I could ask for a refill on my lemonade, he came with a pitcher to fill up the whole table. Before my fried chicken came, he brought out the hot sauce I requested. He made sure we didn’t need anything. Rudy was the icing on the cake for these city girls who really wanted some ol’ fashioned, southern cooking!
