Stopped by for lunch on my way through Hagerstown on a Wednesday after reading Unilocal reviews. Really cool bar area with nice woodwork and great atmosphere. I had the Ruben and a Guinness. Like some other reviews on Unilocal I can’t say it was the best Ruben I ever had, but it was a very good sandwich. Lots of meat and just the right amount of kraut and dressing. The waitress(I didn’t get her name) was nice, but I had to decline another beer when she asked as I had to get on down the road. Definitely was the kind of place I wouldn’t mind staying for a while and knocking back a few.

The prick that runs this place needs to get his head out of his rectum and recognize that his customers are not his enemies.

With Unilocal help my family and I visited this pub when we were passing through town. The food was great, my mom highly recommends the Reuben, and they had a good selection for bottle and draft beer. My only pointer would be it’s definitely a pub/bar atmosphere rather than a restaurant… which worked perfectly for out family. The staff was all friendly, including the owner who stopped by to say hello. It will definitely be on our list as a place to stop if we ever visit again

I miss the Corner Pub so, so, so much. I love Hawaii, but I can’t wait to be reunited with my all-time favorite bar. Some of my best, most favorite memories were made at this bar. I agree with one of the other commenters… this is like Hagerstown’s «Cheers.» Daryl, the owner, is fantastic. He has hired a great team of workers — from the bouncers to the bartenders. I love everyone who works here. They’re all so friendly and hospitable! This is definitely a local hang out spot. The crowd varies. For me, it’s usually like a high school reunion on the back patio. The scene changes once in a while, though, I guess it depends on where everyone is going at the time. I don’t care who is there or when it is, though… the food here is awesome and you won’t find better service or cheaper(STROOOOOONNNNGGG) drinks anywhere. The reuben is to die for. My heart is in Hagerstown, MD though with that meat and cheese basket. YUM. There is one pool table in the bar, usually a line waiting for it. It gets crowded in here quickly on the weekends, so we would usually go early. If you’re looking for a quiet little bar, this isn’t it. It’s usually very loud in here. Depending on just how many people are in here and if there are any events going on, they may open the bar and seating upstairs. The surrounding area is a little sketchy, especially at 2 am(closing time) — just be aware of your surroundings and don’t be an idiot.

Kudos to our server for handling the bar and serving those who sat outside. So, service was a tad slow-but I totally get it. I really enjoyed the outdoor patio, but would enjoy it more if everyone out there did not smoke! The Corner Pub offers your basic bar food and sandwhiches. Not bad, but not amazing.

Always a good time, noticed the crowd has changed over the past year. Best pub in this town!

Second leg of our«return to the great frozen north» took us to Hagerstown, MD. Once again, we consulted our« Unilocal Concierge» who directed us to this fine establishment. As many reviewers indicated that this was a very«local» pub, I was a bit concerned about being«flagged» as an «out-of-towner» by said locals. Although people did look at us when we came in, it was far from the«whothehellareyou» look we have sometimes gotten in other local pubs. The jukebox music was loud but the bar lady turned it down to help us with our ordering. We had some very nice draft beers and some very large and very good sandwiches. We had the steak fries which were very ordinary and disappointing. All in all, a good find after a very long drive! Verily!

Good Reuben. Seems like a real neighborhood bar. Was not what we were looking for tonight.

I looked this place up on here and was excited to see all of the rave reviews. After my experience I would not believe a single one of them. Their beer selection sucks, the staff was horrible. One bar tender didn’t even know what a scotch ale beer was. The food was horrible and cold. I watched as the cook put my steak up for delivery and it sat there for almost 10 min and there were less than 20 people in the place. Save your money and go somewhere that serves actual pub food and has a staff that wants to earn a tip.

I love a good pub and these folks are just about as good as it gets! For me; they have the perfect combination of comfortable atmosphere, craft beer, great food and friendly service. This place is beautifully maintained inside and out. When you walk in, everything is beautiful wood and brass. It’s nicely lit but not too bright as a good pub should be. They have a TouchTunes juke box which is a plus for me. I love to play music using my smart phone app. If you are a craft beer guy or gal they have about twenty well-selected taps. They don’t publish a beer list which is slightly annoying as I like to see the ABV of my choices. Other Unilocalers had mentioned the amazing RUBEN($ 7.75) and posted pictures so I had to try it. It was absolutely the best Ruben I have ever tasted. The quality of the ingredients is there and they are in perfect proportion. It’s billed as the best in town but it’s better than that. It’s probably the best in the state or better! I’ll dream about for a month. When I was there it was probably a shift change so I experienced a couple of folks behind the bar. I was a stranger from out of town but I was treated like a valued regular. For me the customer service was wonderful. I walked out with a smile on my face because of my great experience and an ache in my heart because they are not located near me where I could visit every week!

I came here last night and the place is a bit on the small side and has an outdoor patio area. Their is one pool table inside, different types of seating and tables throughout the place. All the bartenders were all taking time to ask if we needed anything which is a definite perk from most bars I’ve gone to although. they seemed to be short on beer(no corona extra, only the light version when I came, and limited types of Flying Dog and that was before 12). The music was mostly hip hop, some oldies, and some rock. It’s a pretty mixed crowd that comes here, generally people in there mid 20’s-30’s but also some older individuals. I think if they got rid of the pool table and added a small dance floor area than it’d definitely get me hanging out there more.

Ridiculous bar for Hagerstown. Friendly locals, great food, super local owner. A must if EVER in Hagerstown. Chicken salad is homemade daily. Must stop!

I was pleasantly surprised when entering the Corner Pub which is geographically a bit away from central nightlife bars and restaurants. The staff and patrons were all very nice and upbeat… They had a fair selection of beers. I would love to see them put a lot more on tap. The trend is definitely moving to better beers with more selection in the industry… It seems Corner Pub is heading that way as well. The food was good and service timely.

I wish my job let me stay longer in certain cities. Sometimes it’s because I want a chance to see the sights, but sometimes it’s just because I want to go back to a place a second time! I stopped into the corner pub for lunch, and I was struck by the massive beer and spirits selection. Sadly, though, I can’t drink on the clock, so I just stuck to a salad and a plate of wings. Getting the hot and BBQ wings on special, I was struck by the big, beautiful pieces of bird that were served up, cooked to a beautiful mahogany-caramel finish, but still warm and moist inside. The sauces were served for dipping, and they both seemed kind of generic, but I really liked the hot sauce. The salad was pretty much just a regular salad, but it made me feel like I was at least trying to eat healthy. :) Service was great and the prices were really reasonable. I just wish I could have hung around for a pint or two.

Stopped in for«a» beer before the dirt track race and was immediately taken by the décor — absolutely beautiful woodwork throughout. Bartender was really nice and come to find out, is the bartender from Always Ron’s mother, which shows where he got his great personality and conversation. Great locals place, everyone was extremely nice(great to meet you Chris and Matt). I’ll definitely go back if I’m ever in the area again. Pros: Great beer selection and staff, clean and well kept establishment. Cons: None to note.

Great local pub. Ate a scrumptious rueben with a kick. A little horseradish perhaps? I love me some drafts and they’ve got plenty of it. Great service and friendly atmosphere. Highly reccommend checking this place out when wandering through Hagerstown, MD.

I went here with a group of friends because one of them lives in Htown. I was expecting a dismal hole in the wall with old toothless men who stare because they’ve never seen an Asian. At first I was delighted to be carded(the others were not ha ha) and then I walked in and a lot of youngish people were there also older patrons but a good mix. It was surprisingly roomy with an upstairs. We sat upstairs on a row of stools near the back bar. It felt like the bars at Frostburg, homey with cheap booze. Living in LA I couldn’t believe beers were $ 2 and vodka drinks about $ 7. The bartenders were older females but friendly and quick with our shot requests. There were some douchey kids who for some reason were giving our group the stank eye(they were probably threatened by the one fireman covered in tattoos) but we diffused the situation and they scampered away. Next time I’m in Hagerstown at my friend’s I will surely stop in here. A friendly neighborhood pub with great prices.

Thank you Unilocal.I was just passing through and staying the night. I Unilocaled and there it was. I am only thankful that I do not live here or I would need a change of address. There was nothing about this place(first time visitor) that I did not like. And on the recommendation of fellow Unilocalers, I had the Rubin and my wife and I split the Fried Brownies. I will need to agree with the other reviews, this is one of the best Rubin’s I have ever had. The Fried Brownies are just wicked good. If you do not try them, you are not a foodie and should turn in your Unilocal badge. Other folks at the table all had different burgers. All of them loved them. Corner Pub, I think I love you.

I made my way out to Hagerstown, to catch a minor league baseball game. After it was postponed due to some unfortunate rain that decided to follow me up the coast, I decided that I wasn’t going to leave Hagerstown without at least some new grub. I stumbled upon Corner Pub, and decided to drink my agitation away. The atmosphere is small and cozy, wooden floors, and tables with barstools. The kind of place I imagine has a ton of regular customers in a town like Hagerstown. Pool table, and other bar games for the, despite it being relatively empty while I was there. The food was not bad; the Irish Nachos were essentially potato patties slathered in nacho cheese, onions, and jalapenos. My entrée was their pub Fish Tail sandwich was like, and I don’t mean this in a bad way, pretty much how a McDonald’s Filet O Fish looks in glamor shots and television. It’s pretty good, entirely. But the one thing I must completely gush over is their fried brownies dessert. I flipped the menu to the back, and saw«Fried Brownies,» and my mouth literally made an O face. I was expecting a plate, but it was instead served to me in a goblet, covered in a whipped topping. Good lord almighty, the first bite was like that scene in Fight Club when Edward Norton discovers how great consensual fighting is. I press the warm, slightly crisped brownie against the roof of my mouth with my tongue, and it explodes into this warm, gooey chocolate richness. Chew, swallow, repeat, wipe off drool. This alone could warrant a repeat visit if I make my way back out there for the makeup game.

So, I’ve tried be be less forthcoming with 5 star reviews, but this place deserves it. After reading the first three reviews here on Unilocal!,we decided that this place was worth a shot. Finding it was a little hard, but once we did(it is on a corner, duh), parking on the street was easy. Not a huge place on the first floor, but very interesting seating, a nice bar area, and a pool room in the back with good music on the juke box. Walking in, I was flabbergasted at the selection of beers on tap as well as the Scotch selection on the wall behind the bar. I mean, who carries a 21 yr old Scotch in a dive bar??? I felt a tear form in my eye… Their menu was simple, and looked very interesting. My dining/travel companion ordered fish and chips with a Newcastle Brown, and I opted for a reuben sandwich and a Guinnes. I was told that the fish was nicely double breaded, and not greasy at all. My reuben was probably the best reuben I’ve ever eaten(and I like reubens). The meat was not overly tart, but seasoned just right. The dressing, kraut, and swiss flavors were all made with quality ingredients, because they complimented each other very well. I followed my meal with a second beer(a Hop Hog IPA from Lancaster, PA) from the tap, and was highly impressed. For as busy as the place was, we got excellent service, especially for obviously not being regulars. I might just go back tonight for more.
