Great place to rent kayaks and spend the day on the river. Motor boat rentals are pricey, but getting a bunch of people on a pontoon or a few in a motor boat hitting all the swimming holes and rope swings is also fun.

Came here for a day on the water ($ 300+ for the group) to find and empty office. We call and are told it’s «Too early in the season to rent» …it’s June. And we are looking at rental receipt from yesterday through the window. These guys are lame save yourself the trouble.

I’m not sure why there are so many negative reviews here. Granted, I’ve only been here once, and it was in a group to rent kayaks, but we all had a great time. The customer service wasn’t five-​star, but the people were pleasant enough, albeit busy (it was a beautiful day to be on the water). We did not have any trouble with the kayaks or any sort of exhaustive explanation about how to use them – not sure what Brad M. is talking about there.
The final point is that we had a great time, good enough that I want to go back again with different friends. If my experience changes in the future, perhaps I’ll see what these negative reviewers mean, but as of now, I’d recommend this place to others.

Ah! Stay away. This is a dishonest business where the OWNER will tell you that «you don’t have to worry about gas» and then charge you at the end of the day and deny he ever said that. It doesn’t say it on the contract but doesn’t matter. I was told that «well, I have your credit card number right here, so I can charge you no matter what». WOW. I have never been so disrespected and treated so unprofessionally by a business before. I can’t believe Massvacation recommended this place. There are plenty of other marinas along the Connecticut River. A quick search showed alternatives like:

Normally I do not like writing a bad review, but I feel totally justified here. Not only did the large group that I was with feel the same way, but I was also justified in the parking lot by another customer. He said that other places don’t charge for gas and he totally agreed that the guy was sneaky about the gas charge.
