Description

Specialties

Shaolin Kung Fu Center of Hadley has provided traditional chinese martial arts training and set the stage for excellence in kung fu training in and around the Hadley, Amherst and Northampton region for 10 years.

We believe that a true martial artist is much more than a fighter, but a warrior, one that has developed skills to meet all of life’s challenges with both inner and outer strength and wisdom.

Our comprehensive training program includes basic stances, effective hand strikes and kicks, hand forms, weapons, and self-defense. Shaolin Kung Fu comes from China and is one of the oldest and most respected of martial arts. Our curriculum derives from traditional Shaolin Kung Fu, incorporating Northern Long Fist (Chan Chuan), Wushu, and Eagle Claw (Ying Zhao Quan) styles.

History

Established in 2004.

Shaolin Kung Fu Center of Hadley was started in 2004 by Sifu Sean Laurent. When Sifu Sean moved to Oregon to go to grad school, Sifu Lisandro Vega took up the teaching at the school. Sifu Li has been a hallmark of excellent kung fu instruction in the Springfield region for more than 25 years. It is under his guidance that the head instructors at Shaolin Kung Fu Center continue to train, and thrive. In 2011, Sifu Li reopened the Shaolin Kung Fu Center location on Bridge St in Springfield. In 2012 we moved from Amherst to our current location in Hadley. Between these two locations we are able to spread the joy of traditional kung fu training to a wide audience.
