This place is a staple in our restaurant rounds! The food is consistently delicious and the service is good.

This place is wonderful, but difficult to find on a dark night. Just remember it’s right next to a Cumberland Farms on the left side of route 9 leaving Amherst and just before Esselon. I liked that I was immediately greeted with five small authentic Korean condiments and aromatic tea. None of us picked hot and spicy selections, so the meal was filling and soothing. One friend requested hot sauce on the side and our server was happy to refill it upon request. It was just what I would have made at home, but without the pots to clean up.

I’m admittedly not an expert on Korean food, but it was fresh, fast and delicious! Lots of vegetarian options.

Went here recently. I had the bibimbap or however it’s spelled. Was good. And had a fair amount of beef in it(I’ve been to places where the meat is just a few tiny pieces). My companion had some seafood stew. Was a large portion. Nice and spicy and had clams, mussels, squid, etc. Was very good. Will be back.

I had lunch at this restaurant last Saturday, not having been there since the new owners reopened this Korean restaurant which had been at this location for many years. The prior owner had done an excellent job with both food and cultivating a pleasant experience. The plating was very pretty and the food was good but not exceptional. I would have given this restaurant another star except for the fact that the experience was so poor. The restaurant was empty and I was seated in front of an air conditioner next to an elderly Korean man who was exercising and surfing the net on his phone while he spoke out loud constantly to one of the servers. He seemed to be related to the owners and did not seem to understand the need to maintain decorum appropriate to a restaurant in which many people may be eating. Midway through my lunch, little children who also seemed to be connected to the owners or workers in the restaurants, began to fight and argue quite loudly.

My family and I love this Korean Restaurant under new ownership. We also loved it previously but it is even better now! The food is outstanding. Delicious, fresh, plentiful. I live in Northampton and have many dining options, but Gohyang is my favorite. Anyone looking for a delicious Korean meal at a very reasonable price should try this out. And the dishes they bring before the meal(gratis) are always wonderful and different. Can’t recommend this restaurant highly enough. Kudos to the chef.

We love this place. The owner/chef prepares all of the sauces from scratch and takes special care to present each dish beautifully. The portions are generous and lunch prices are low. The staff is welcoming and well informed. You will have a memorable experience when you eat here.

I really hate giving bad reviews, but I must be honest. Let me start out by saying I MISSTHEOLDOWNERSANDTHEIRCOOK. :-/ First of all the menu has less items than the original owner. There was a chicken dish that I use to order off the old menu called Dak Bul Galgi(excuse the spelling) this dish is very traditional in the Korean culture and I wonder how is it not on the menu, I mean this is a KOREANRESTAURANTRIGHT? But anyway this traditional dish usually comes on a plate sizzling. So after describing this dish to the waiter he had to ask the cook if this dish could be prepared, moments later the water came to my table and to me it was possible, so I nervously ordered it hoping for a good outcome. When my dish arrived it looked good along with the red seasoning but the taste was not the same. The chicken used was chicken breast drowning in to much sauce. The former owner used cuts of chicken thigh meat and the dish came on a griddle plate sizzling not soaked in sauce and the taste was off it just wasn’t the same that I was use to. Very disappointing So now because I was disappointed, I decided to order an additional plate called KALBI or GALBI. This dish is another traditional Korean dish where the the meat described as several strips of short ribs that come on a plate sizzling. Well the ribs were flavorful not too much bad to say, however I’m used to slightly thicker ribs and scissors which are used to cut the strips, this is traditional Korean style. Final thought is I feel there is a certain level that lacks tradition Korean culture and the fact that there are no chicken dishes on the menu is a bit shocking. I don’t think I will be returning anytime soon. However the staff are extremely nice and very willing to assist you, they are very very friendly and service was great but not so much the food.

Had the kimchi pancake and Kalbi. Kimchi pancake was very well made — great texture and flavor. Not too soggy. Good sized portion, would order again after trying the seafood pancake. Their banchan consisted of steamed broccoli(overcooked, just steamed broccoli), bean sprouts(no sesame oil, very bland), kimchi(standard, fermented not fresh) and fish cake(no complaints). Small portions, not sure if they refilled because I didn’t want a refill of anything. Kalbi was served on a stone plate. Good sized portion for number of pieces ~14. But they were cut quite thin and had wayyyy too much sauce for my liking while eating Korean bbq. I’m there to eat meat and the banchan. They do serve it with rice though. Overall it was ok, good enough for me to go back and try their other dishes.

My boyfriend and I are major fans of Korean cuisine. We came on a weekend so the lunch special didn’t apply(sort of disappointing) so the lunch was a little pricey. The two dishes we ordered amounted to $ 30. We ordered the Sundubu(seafood tofu) and we were disappointed by how little seafood was in the tofu and the lack of flavor. It tasted watery and the flavors were very subtle, not like other Sundubu we’ve had. The Kalbi(korean short ribs) was slathered with the sauce which gave the ribs its only flavor. It tasted good because the sauce was doing most of the heavy-lifting. Each of these dishes came with a small bowl of rice and we had to order another bowl for $ 1 to complement the dishes and to get full. Customer service was good, the restaurant was clean, and they have an unique Korean market next door with specialty Korean items. If you’re looking for great Korean food, I would recommend the House of Teriyaki which is close by.

It’s a pretty cozy restaurant. I love the sea food pancake and the bulgogi!
