I am a local wine maker and must say that I enjoy every time I come in. They are more than serviceable, knowledgeable, and do a top job of not only finding what you need but ordering whatever they don’t have (which is rare I must say).

Didn’t make any beer here, but came in for supplies. Store is on the smaller end, but they looked like they have everything an amateur beer or wine maker needs. If not, the gentleman behind the counter let me know they would order anything I wanted. Got great advice on some of the questions I had, and noticed they had a sizeable selection of yeast in the fridge. Definitely will go back sometime for my homebrewing needs.

Great brew shop. Lots of stuff in stock, and if not they’ll order it and get it fast. Nice to have a quality place locally. The information you’ll get from Brett and the other guys makes it worth shopping there on its own.

I wanted to update my previous review based on my most recent visit/​experience at BYOB. After the unfortunate incident at BYOB, the owner, Brett. personally reached out to me and offered to help me put together my next recipe from start to finish. We began the recipe building process with a draught of one of the many unique BYOB brews. He assured me that my recipe was well written but gave his own advice when I asked, which will surely take it to the next level. He assembled all of my ingredients while answering all of my questions and made sure my cup was full. We even went home with growlers of his American Pale Something and Wheat Wine. His apologies went beyond words and there’s no question that if I will go back. BYOB is an authentic, genuine local brew shop full of everything you need to brew any beer. I will look forward to my next visit!

BYOB is a great homebrew supply store. Brett carries pretty much anything you could possibly need or think of to brew a great beer, and supplies are very fairly priced. It is a very well organized place. There are classes you can sign up for to learn how to brew if you want to get started. He has a wealth of knowledge, and is willing to share. He might homebrew more than anyone i know! If you haven’t been here. get here!

This is one of the best home brew shops in South Jersey. It’s perfect for the novice or the expert brewer. All grains, hops and yeast are stored properly. The staff is friendly, helpful and they clearly love brewing. The store is clean and very well organized, pricing is clearly posted and quite reasonable. Brett is always willing to go the extra mile to help you out and make his customers happy. If your in the area and want to learn how to brew beer or make wine BYOB should def be one of your stops.

Been a home brewer for many years and been to almost every Local Home Brew Shop in the area. This one is my favorite. It’s clean, well stocked and the owner Brett is quite knowledgeable but more importantly willing to take time and share his knowledge. He’s a brewery first and a business man second. This store is great for everyone, the first time brewery or those who basically have a nano brewery at home.
However the really nice thing about the shop is it’s a fun place to go and lose an hour talking about beer, not only with Brett but anyone else who might be in the shop, the free advice is almost priceless.

Super shop. Proud to have this as my local HBS. Brett has a bright, clean, well organized, and beautifully laid out shop. He has just about everything you could need on hand, and what he doesn’t have he’ll be happy to order for you. Huge liquid yeast library to file through, as well a healthy hop selection. And all the specialty grains you could ask for. Brett is very knowledgeable, as well as Evan, if you happen to be there when he is helping out.
I’ve never made use of it, but his brew kitchen in the back looks to be a sweet place to learn the art if you got the chance. Brett usually has a few of his experimental brews on tap, and he is always game to share a pint.

BYOB is just a few miles from my house. I was happy when it opened because the other two shops I used were 45 minutes away with traffic. Then one of them closed.
It turns out that convenience is not the best part of this shop. Rarely is BYOB out of an ingredient. The owner knows his customers and brewing and has an uncanny knack for stocking extra of uncommon ingredients when a new recipe starts trending.
The prices are reasonable and the quality and service unmatched. The only thing I can find fault with is that not all brewing equipment is available there. But, to be fair, this isn’t a warehouse store. When BYOB doesn’t carry something, they don’t hesitate to help you find it; even if it’s from a competitor.

Brew Your Own Bottle (BYOB) is a fantastic local home brew shop (LHBS). When I first started brewing I would buy all my supplies for an online company, who had great prices and very good customer service. Visiting other home brew shops they seemed a little expensive, but then I found Brett’s shop. I was dead wrong about the prices. Brett easily competes with the online guys and the personal one-​on-​one customer service can’t be beat. My wife even enjoys going to the store with me and hanging out for a little bit with Brett while discussing beer and brewing. The only problem I have is my trips there seem to start getting longer and longer! Which really isn’t a bad thing.
If your looking to get into hop brewing he even has private classes. Wish I know about them before I started brewing. Could have saved myself a few headaches and would have had a blast learning with Brett.

I grew up in kitchens and learned how to cook the old fashioned way: by taste, feel, and intuition. My aversion to precision and cookbooks would make Alton Brown cringe.
Nevertheless, I decided it was a good idea to begin brewing beer, despite the fact that my distate for rigid formulas, math, and patience make me a classic example of the type of person who should avoid homebrewing at all costs.
When I entered Brew Your Own Bottle for the first time, I did not know what to expect — although I was certain the owner, Brett, would peg me as a fraud before the door shut behind me.
If he did, it wasn’t apparent.
I asked him stupid questions. I needed him to repeat some answers a few times before I could grasp certain concepts. I called him on the phone for help later on while brewing my first beer and then drove quickly back to the store after I broke my hydrometer before ever using it.
None of this deterred him. He answered each question with the same calm demeanor and relentless patience. He also cut me breaks on the cost of a new hydrometer and gave me some spare parts that I lost along the way for free.
With each passing visit my inability to wrap my mind around a certain concept or my reluctance to change the way I thought about the process of brewing persisted but Brett always remained incredibly helpful and levelheaded.
I think he views my questions as a challenge and that sparks his creative side. Whenever I tell him I want to brew something new but I have no clear idea of what I want to make or how to make it, he offers suggestions and then breaks out pencil and paper to jot down a new recipe that he’s making up just for my benefit.
Not many store owners would go that far out of their way to appease a stubborn customer who is probably better off not brewing beer at all but that’s exactly what keeps me coming back to Brew Your Own Bottle. Brett provides great customer services and gives an incompetent novice such as myself the confidence to realize I can brew good beers. He helps to make the otherwise tedious process of homebrewing surmountable, challenging, and exciting.

Can’t agree enough with the previous reviews! As a first time brewer, I came here seeking out ingredients and a 5 gallon stainless steel pot. Two gentlemen in the store provided me with advice and tips on brewing and invited me to their Brewer’s Meeting. I have been told by another brewer that the prices here are very reasonable. I was also told by Brett, the owner, that if I needed any help during the process, I could give him a call. Now that is GREAT customer service.

Love this place. Helps a ton that it’s only blocks from my house, but I’d probably go here regardless. The owner is very knowledgeable, and I’ve never needed something that they didn’t have. They have almost absurdly convenient hours (11 – 7), which are ideal for me since I don’t get home at night until 6, and start brewing at noon on Saturdays.
Can’t recommend highly enough.

If there’s one thing I have to say about BYOB, it’s that they don’t carry enough variety in grains, but the owner has a great sense of what to use to substitute, so it’s not that big a deal. The prices are generally pretty good, certainly higher than ordering online, but that’s understandable. They’re still significantly cheaper than Home Sweet Homebrew. They’re in a very convenient location, and have good hours. The store ALWAYS smells like boiling wort, which I love. They also have a great gear selection, and do on-​premises brewing, so if you’re a newb, you can get instruction here.
I’m a member of the Gloucester County Homebrewing Club, and get a 10% discount on everything I buy there, which is nice. Also, I buy my bulk grains in sacks, just purchasing adjunct grains locally when necessary. The owner told me that I could come in any time and use their grain mill to grind my grains. That’s good customer service.

This is my new favorite LHBS (local homebrew store).
Stock is plentiful, prices are comparable to buying online (without having to wait for shipping), plus you get the benefit of extremely helpful service from the owner Brett.
Moreover, they rent high-​end supplies as well as offer «brew-​on-​premises» services.

Brand new store. Convenient location for south jersey… also right near PATCO. The store has a ton of grains, extracts, equipment. They are constantly turning over inventory. There is also brew on premises and lessons available too. Brett is a great owner who knows what he is talking about and more t han willing to help you out. I find myself there at least once a week.
