My husband and I came here for the second time and I have to say… have not been disappointed at all … This time, we came here on Christmas Eve and invited my husband’s brother to join us. The food and service were wonderful … it is hard to find traditional Japanese food with such a good favors. We will be back, here again, many times and also will recommend to anyone who looking for Japanese food.

Food was good, nice fun experience with friends. They need better ventilation with all the smoke created. You will smell like hibachi when you leave.

We live in the area and this was only the second time we ate there. Not sure why we overlook this restaurant but we will definitely be back. I keep forgetting it’s a Japanese/Korean restaurant. Food and service was very good. We had the traditional meal instead of the hibachi bc I was craving Korean food. For appetizer we ordered the Negimaki and Boston roll. Entrée was Gopdol Bibimbap which was served on a hot stone pot. If you like the crunchy rice on the bottom, then get it on the pot, otherwise order the regular bibimbap. My husband had the Hotate Gai Yaki which is broiled scallp with enoki mushroom. We both enjoyed our meal and also ordered a Bulgogi Japchae for takeout. The best part was they have my fav for dessert, fried ice cream! Place is a bit pricey but the food was worth it.

I heard really great things about this place, so I decided to give it a try. The woman on the phone was really rude to me. She quickly took my order, almost rushing me off the phone. As discussed on their website, and as I always tell any place I am eating, I have a seafood allergy. The woman hung up in the middle of me trying to tell her this! I called back and tried to tell her again. She was again rude and said«yeah okay!» I was so tempted to not pick up my order or cancel it, but was craving my cucumber rolls way too much.

As far as hibachi goes, the food is good but not overly memorable. The service is abysmal, and I’m tired of an establishment making me feel like they’re doing me a favor by serving me. This is the place to go for rushed, rude service.

We ate in the upstairs part of the restaurant, not the downstairs hibachi area. I think we were the first there for dinner, but more came shortly after us. My wife had dumplings as an appetizer that were excellent. My appetizer was raw and cooked fish with cucumbers and a small amount of noodles, also delicious. For the main course, I had some wonderful Red Snapper served over a bed of greens. Snapper was awesome. My wife had a spicy chowder/soup that was wonderful, but it was so spicy, the sweat dripped off her, and her nose ran. For dessert we had a cheesecake dipped in tempura batter and fried, topped with some fruit and whipped cream and a fried ice cream that was also dipped in tempura batter. Dessert was the low point here, but it wasn’t bad. Some on here fuss about the price, but good, well prepared food is well worth it. If you want cheap food, go to the Chinese take out. This food was worth what we paid.

My most favorite place to eat. It is a little pricey for the area but I’d rather pay more to have quality sushi rather than get a bargain and be sick. The service isn’t the best, and they seem to charge for things sometimes and not others(spicy mayo? $ 1) but overall the BEST restaurant in warren county.

Any place that charges for refills on sprite and doesn’t tell you is pretty shady. Even when I mentioned this to the manger they said too bad. Won’t be coming back here ever.

I have been frequenting Fujiyama since they opened back in the early 2000’s, at a young age a LOVED sushi and began coming here with my parents since it was the only place around! Some 10+ years later, and I’ve yet to have a bad meal or bad service. I’ve had plenty of great lunches and dinners and have made memories while doing so. This restaurant is family owned and operated, and done so with great hospitality. I always feel at home when dining at Fujiyama. Sexy, modern atmosphere which is great for a date night. Large dining area to accommodate larger groups. Hibachi is excellent, and always fun. On your birthday, the owner comes out to give a HILARIOUS, and sometimes embarrassing performance of his own rendition of the«happy birthday» song… prepare for side splitting laughs. Highly recommend, I’ll be dining here for years to come.

This is a consistently good restaurant. I’ve been coming here with my family regularly since they opened I would guess at least 10 years ago. Japanese food is expensive because the ingredients are expensive so be prepared but you’ll definitely get value for money. They have a great sushi bar, hibachi and a regular dining area. My wife and I lived in Japan for a while and I can say that the food here is as good and fresh as anything I’ve eaten there. It’s BYOB which is not an issue.(let’s face it, this is New Jersey). There’s a well stocked liquor store down the road(with a good selection of Saki and Japanese beer). The servers get your glasses, ice buckets set up straight away. Yes it’s popular and gets busy but the service is consistently good and the owner is on the floor all the time. It’s a favorite of ours and it’s worth noting that the owner is putting money back into the business again to tastefully expand both the dining areas and the parking space. A little taste of Japan in Mansfield.

Solid hibachi(let’s face it — hibachi has been serialized in recent years) and an even better sushi spot. The sushi menu is a little long IMHO it can be a little confusing, but it creates a nice atmosphere to hold onto the menu and order in waves. The staff is extremely nice and engaging, especially the owner who can always be seen greeting guests, checking on tables, opening doors, bringing complimentary appetizers to tables that wait too long, even mopping floors! I swear he works circles around everyone there; you can really tell that he cares, and it shows in the way they do everything. Two pieces of advice: try the iced green tea, it’s amazing; and ask your server(or the owner) for suggestions from the sushi menu.

Interior décor was very nice and everything inside was exceptionally clean. We enjoyed the food, but we’re not particularly experienced with Japanese cuisine. The staff was excellent, our waitress was polite, attentive, and helpful. A man who we presume to be the owner/manager came to our table and greeted us which we thought was a nice gesture.

We have always like this place. As far as Hibachi goes. Very tasty. Sushi is solid. We had a very young looking chef tonight. Outstanding food. Respectful and funny. Our server was kind of MIA. Drinks we not timely. Overall they do a real good job. If the parking lot is real full. Just know what you are in for.

I think that the prices are high BUT if you get a platter its worth it!!! I go with my husband and two kids and the platter boat they bring out fills us up! Plus you can choose your rolls and sushi. It can be a lil dark in there but the staff is always friendly and courteous. When I went on mother’s Day they even gave the moms a lil gift!

You get what you pay for. This place is a little pricey but most sushi is. I would rather pay and be content than have nasty sushi. I love the angry dragon roll and King Kong roll. I really do not like any other sushi in NJ when compared to this place.

Ugh where do I start. Pulled in, full lot. Nowhere to park. Decided to turn the Volkswagen into a jeep and climb a curb to park on the grass. Good thing I just washed it! Here’s the timeline: Sat down after a 15+ minute wait Waited another 15 minutes for wine glasses After ordering we waited 45 minutes and still haven’t gotten our food but everyone else seemed to be getting their orders Over an hour goes by and we finally get 2⁄4 appetizers 15 minutes go by, 2⁄4 apps are done and then the other two come out Waited another 30 minutes and our dinners finally come out, one by one, at different times within the half hour Nobody gave a crap about the fact that this was going on, they just smiled gave us our check. Never again.

I have been to this restaurant 50+ times over the past 6 years or so. I have never had a complaint or a bad meal/experience in any way. The rolls are outstanding, as is the selection. The best special rolls out of anywhere I have been. I generally will not eat sushi anywhere else anymore. No sushi I have ever had can light a candle to Fujiyama’s freshness and taste. The service is excellent. The atmosphere is perfect. It’s BYOB, which is always great! I am never disappointed. They are exceptionally accommodating and so friendly from the moment you walk in the door. You never feel rushed, even on the busiest of nights. And boy, does it get busy. Morning, noon, and night this parking lot is PACKED(well maybe not morning, but you get the point). You must try the Play Boy roll! That is always a must regardless of what you are in the mood for! **This review is solely for the upstairs portion of Fujiyama. I have been to the Hibachi portion many times as well and always have a negative experience.

We really wanted to like this place. The inside décor is lovely and you cannot tell from the outside, how nice it is on the inside. The sushi was mostly tasty although a bit overpriced. The menu was quite confusing with too many options and categories of rolls. The service was fine and attentive. The owner came by and asked how everything was _before_we got our food. Ummmm OK so far? I wish he had come by after we got our food. We would have let him know that one roll was AWFUL. We made the MISTAKE of ordering a HURRICANE roll that was topped with spicy octopus. My husband and I thought this roll tasted AWFUL! He described it as tasting like cat food. Within 90 minutes, we both had EXPLOSIVEDIARRHEA. YUCK. If you get sushi and it makes you sick, you’d be a fool to go back.

Less for More… We have gone there several times in the past and always enjoyed it despite the prices. Tonight we went back in and found new menus… with higher prices. Plus we ordered the usual for our two small kids, Kids Hibachi Steak, to share. Only now, we would have to pay an extra $ 10 for them to share. I asked if we get an extra soup or salad. NOTHING. We essentially are paying for one of the kids to be there. Never again are we going back.

The owner greets us at the door as we walk in which was nice. But that’s where the quality service stopped. Our server brought us luke warm tea and when we asked for hot tea he took it away, and when he brought it back it was still the same! Then when he was pouring us water, he spilled it all over the table and asks if he can borrow my table napkin to clean it. I give it to him, he wipes it down, gives me a new napkin from another table, but then leaves the dirty, wet napkin he used in the middle of our table! He left it there throughout our entire dinner! Food: edamame was subpar(beans inside seemed to not be cooked long enough)… The miso soup was also not hot when it was served to us! Our seaweed salad tasted pretty good, so no complaints with that. We had several rolls and some sashimi and the prices were average for a typical Japanese spot. The fish seemed to be pretty fresh and we enjoyed it for the most part despite such a disappointing start to dinner.
