Tony’s Auto Repair

My wife went to them for an oil change and to check on a couple of sensor issues in her Volvo. While thre, he looked at the wheels and just told her that her front brakes «urgently needed replacing, the rear could wait another 3000 or so miles». He quoted us about $ 750 for pads, rotors and sensors. He fixed one of the issues but we declied to do the brakes because I do my own brakes and know that I can do the four wheels for about $ 100 in parts from PEP Boys. I took a front wheel off the other day, and to my shock the pads and rotors were essentially brand new! Did he just see a foreigner and figure he had a mark? I complained to the dealer that recommended him who called him and he was given yet another total bald-​faced lie! This time he told the dealer that my wife demanded original Volvo parts not after-​market parts and complained about squeeking in the brakes. Neither thing happened at all. In fact my wife, for whom English is a second language could never have demanded that in English. This guy lies, and clearly tried to steal from us. I have a photo of the front pads taken yesterday… Watch out. Filing consumer Affairs complaint.

What can I say… Tony’s Auto Repair employs legitimate mechanics; They do quality work, bumper-​to-​bumper. One of the main reasons I have used Tony’s auto repair in the past is due to his experience with German vehicles such as BMW, Mercedes, and Audi (maintenance wise can be a little more difficult than your average vehicle) has fair prices and the experience to work confidently.
Although I very often do my own engine work (recently, the coolant thermostat, transmission pan/​filter/​fluid, transmission flex joint and spark plugs) on my out of warranty BMW 650i When it comes to jobs that I just don’t have the man-​hours or equipment to complete efficiently I generally wind up at Tony’s negotiating lol.
Tip: Tony is not a huge fan of haggling So if he kicks your @ss out of the shop for over-​negotiating, don’t be offended.
Take it from someone who understands what really goes on from a mechanical engineering perspective; This shop does quality work at a fair price.
