Roger Joseph! I absolutely love the new look and cant wait the 2 weeks to brighten the colors a bit more.
After a lifetime of trying to find a great colorist and failing miserably I’ve grown accustomed to dyeing my own and never been able to achieve that perfect look. I came upon RJ salon through Unilocal and i will be a regular here going forward. My hair is healthier and not damaged at all even after the # of times we’ve lightened and stripped and dyed. RJ is a perfectionist and knowledgeable and loves what he does. I felt welcome and so comfortable here with him and his staff. Service. over the top! RJ stayed til 2am to complete my hair with a complete blow out at the end. A perfect 12 hr salon session that has me absolutely raving!

I heard about this place from a friend since she got her hair done here first. I really loved her results and decided to give it a shot myself. When I did, I didn’t regret it! RJ definitely helped me out with picking the right color for my hair and I am very picky when it comes to my hair. Very satisfied with the results and am definitely going to be getting my hair done here all the time! Very friendly staff and care and attention is great. Always have interesting convos with RJ haha

Because I have fine hair, I asked for a blunt cut so my ends don’t look too thin. I literally got the opposite of what I asked for. I said something at the time but didn’t want to freak out until I washed and styled myself. Called a week later to express my dissatisfaction and he basically told me why I’m wrong. So upset and disappointed. Won’t ever go back

I’d have to agree with the previous poster about the difficulty of scheduling an appointment.
I myself have left multiple messages trying to schedule an appointment — one voicemail, and one with the receptionist they seem to have there now.
No one has bothered to respond.
It shouldn’t be this hard to schedule an appointment, and quite frankly — it is insulting. This establishment has lost my respect, and I will no longer be giving them my business.
There are a number of other comparable outfits in the area. I would highly suggest going with them.

RJ is a perfectionist! I came into the salon looking like Cousin It and he listened to what I wanted and gave me a fantastic style! He is very friendly and you can see the passion he has for his profession. Thank you RJ!

Called three days in a row, several times, during posted business hours and nobody ever answered the phone-​voicemail every time. I don’t trust a salon without appropriate reception. Who has time for that? I had questions about services and you’re never there. Next!

RJ is absolutely brilliant and a true expert! He is very knowledgeable and works wonders with his hands! He creatively worked on giving me the perfect sombre! Alicia who is RJs right hand is very friendly and will keep you entertained. The salon is extremely clean and they are very professional. I was recommended to RJ by a very good friend and now I would recommend to others. You won’t be disappointed!

My first experience with Roger has made me a new loyal customer. I explained what I was looking for and Roger was able to interpret my objectives spot-​on. What a wonderful introduction to a new salon and professional!

I was skeptical when I first arrived– I have high standards and I also hate paying for my hair cuts and colors. The place is does not necessarily appear overwhelming.
I met with Roseann and it was one of the best cuts and corrective colors I’ve had (and I do this a lot). She knew exactly what I wanted color-​wise, barely charged me for the rinses she did and her cut revived my gross and damaged hair.
Got a ton of compliments on my cut and am planning on returning.

I love RJ! I have curly hair that is difficult to work with and I have tried MANY other hairstylists trying to find someone who could style my hair properly. I have even gone to Livingston and Hillsdale to salons that specialize in curly hair to no avail. Little did I know that the man who could make magic worked in my backyard! I’ve gone to RJ three times now and I have walked out of there happy as could be every single time! He also did highlights in my hair and they are dropdead gorgeous! He really takes the time and listens to what I want and delivers! And he’s such a nice guy and a pleasure to talk with!

RJ is the best hair dresser I have ever found. I get so many compliments for weeks every time I go to his salon. He spends a lot of time being very detailed so the haircut always looks great. I recently moved 45 minutes away from him and tried to go somewhere else local. It was an awful experience. Now I am back, his haircuts are more than worth the drive. Go There!!!

If you are looking for a quality haircut, RJ’s salon is for you. I have been to a few higher-​end salons and I’ve never come across someone with as much skill as RJ. After my first cut there, I have yet to even consider going anywhere else. Try it out and you’ll see what I mean. He pays EXTREME attention to detail and is very precise, making it easily worth every penny. He is very personable and friendly too, which is a nice way to pass the time and have fun while you get your hair cut.
Overall I would recommend RJ over anyone else, he is fair with his prices and you get a cut that will keep you happy until next time. What more do you need?

I have been getting my hair cut by RJ since I was 15 years old. I am now 31, moved away to the west coast for 8 years and even came in for a cut every Christmas when home visiting family. I relocated to Brooklyn almost a year ago and now I drive from Brooklyn to get my haircut in NJ as i really could never trust anyone else to cut my hair. He is so maticulous at what he does and has built such a great staff since opening his own salon. I will NEVER go anywhere else to get my cut. I mean c’mon he’s been cutting my hair for more than half my life!

I just had the most satisfying haircut of my life. These people are skilled, they listen, they take their time, they charge a fair price. As a guy who’s been somewhat particular about getting his haircut (from ages 4 – 14 I would seldom let anyone cut my hair and so it was very long; since then I usually cut my own hair) this might mark a turning point for me. I look and feel like a million bucks and will definitely be coming back here in two months time.

I origianlly found this salon on Unilocal and they deserve the high rating they have. This salon is great! RJ does my hair and the color is amazing! Always just right. I don’t get to come here as much as I’d like (or need to) so it takes awhile but it’s worth it. Everyone is always friendly and talkative.

I first met RJ when he cut my wife’s hair for our wedding. She was stunning! Then I started using him to cut my hair instead of the $ 10 on the corner. SO MUCH BETTER! He has given me a few different styles over the years and all of them were awesome.

I was in desperate need of a haircut, so I called in the day of to see they were doing any walk-​ins. Needless to say, they were more than accommodating. The girl at the desk, Mia, was really nice. Also, she does an awesome shampoo job. RJ was super cool. I gave him a brief explanation of what I was looking for. Fortunately, he knew exactly what I wanted. He’s a very experienced hair stylist. I would recommend this place to any I know. Overall, I had a great experience and plan on getting a haircut with them again in the future.

The best salon in the area… I used to live next door and that’s how I tried RJ first, since then its been years now haven’t even thought of trying anyone else even after relocating 150 miles away.
I live in Delaware now, and drive all the way to NJ to get my haircut done once a month and its worth it. He is best at what he does, very artistic, creative and patient.

RJ is the best! I have been going to RJ for years! He takes his time and you always leave looking the very best! He is the only one I trust with my hair and of course he did my wedding, as well as my sister’s and sister –in-law’s.

Why I love Roger Joseph Salon and RJ, himself?
1. He ALWAYS cuts my hair in a way that flatters my face. For a woman that is key.
2. His cuts last for weeks and even months from a style perspective.
3. COLOR, COLOR, COLOR… He is the best at it. He has made my hair, pink, fuscia, purplicious, raven blue, and the traditional blond. My hair stays healthy, even when he does a double process to strip out the black.
4. His head massage when he washes my hair… SERIOUSLY, it is like heaven.
5. The ambiance: chic, meticulously clean, and great company.
6. Willing to spend hours on me even when it gets way past normal hours. RJ is totally focused on achieving the quintessential color and style. He is kind of like a Edward Scissorhands with my hair. I never tell him what I want simply how long to keep it. He just gets in a zone. and I get out of the chair a while later looking fabulous.
Pros: RJ himself. Color. Ambiance. Great conversation. Head Massage.
Cons: I have to make appts and can’t just walk in. Men do but woman he invests some solid time in. The rates are like living in the city. But honestly, it is worth every penny.
