Mahwah Movers

I just recently used mahwah movers. I can’t say enough good things about this company. Mike was great from the beginning. He gave me an estimate that was lower than some of the other companies I had met with. Mike also personally dropped off moving boxes for me as well. The day of the move, his crew was on time. They did a great job, and were very careful with all my belongings. I would highly recommend using this moving company. I’ve used other companies in the past, this company went above and beyond my expectations.

Had a small move of a sofa to my mothers house, movers were on time & very pleasant to deal with. Price couldn’t be beat!!! I recommend this moving company

I also unfortunately had issues with Mahwah movers. They damaged my ceiling and walls when moving. They said that they would fix it but never did. They took longer than the estimate time. When they left I realized that my jewelry was missing. It has been locked in a safe but somehow was now missing. We had transported it ourselves but left it out while moving things in ourselves. We called Mike and said that he completely trusted his movers. Really? then why are there multiple reviews now that say otherwise? Don’t use them.

Wow, we were SO disappointed in this entire process. Initially, their estimator, Mike, did an excellent job of making us feel secure and confident in the company’s capabilities. We initially did not have a definitive move in date and he seemed flexible and supportive of our situation.
MOVE OUT: our estimate was based on a 10-​man crew and an 8-​hour day. A 4-​person crew showed up, late of course. I have to say that these guys were really hard working, professional and friendly. They worked diligently throughout the entire day. We kept asking about the rest of the crew. Apparently, Mahwah Movers has a consistent problem with overselling and overbooking — their own crew was griping about the way they are exploited for the company’s profit. The second crew finally showed up from another move at 3:00. THEY DID NOTHING. They stood in our driveway, smoking and joking, left cigarette butts and trash when they finally left. Someone from the crew stole my Bose speaker that had been playing all day. It just mysteriously walked away with the moving truck. Mike assured me that he would buy me a new one — funny but I never received it.
STORAGE: Who knows? I assume it was properly stored. There had to be organizational issues as I never received several big boxes that of course, contained all of our Apple Airport Express equipment and assorted household goods.
MOVE IN: Mike called several days before our scheduled move in to ask if we could bump the day back one day as they — you guessed it! — were overbooked. We got approval to do so and he gave us a discount for the inconvenience. Same good crew showed up (two hours late) plus a few other guys that seemed to be professional. We though that everything went well. When we started unpacking, we realized that a lot of stuff was broken or damaged. A box of Limoges china, bubble wrapped and in a hard side plastic bin, was crushed. An antique dressing table had a broken leg. An antique tilt top table from the 1800s had a giant gash on it. An expensive contemporary bookcase had broken tension rods. Scratches on beds. Sloppy wrapping I presume.
SUMMARY: We approached Mike about the broken furniture, the stolen Bose speaker, and missing boxes. A few missing items showed up within a couple weeks of my inquiry. We were promised that he would send someone to fix the bookcase but it never materialized in the nearly three months post-​move. Always the same excuse — «We are so busy!» After a couple of weeks, he just never communicated again. How’s that for responsive, proactive, accountable professionalism? The whole experience was an utter disappointment. DO NOT USE MAHWAH MOVERS.

I just moved 4 decent sized GLASS jewelry showcases with Mahwah Movers. These guys were prompt (even thought there was heavy traffic), professional, and quick. I called about 5 different movers before using these guys and they were quite a bit more to obscenely more expensive than MM. I will definitely use these guys again and highly recommend them.

Used them twice: first time move was great; second time: one big mistake. Considerable breakage and about $ 1000;00 of crystalware damage they refused to reimburse. Sued company in small claims court and won judgement for $ 900.00 plus costs only to find out that Mahwah Movers does not have a banking connection with any NJ bank! Apparently there is a parent company somewhere. Do business with them very very carefully!!!

After a horrible experience during my last move I was skeptical about any moving company. Mahwah Movers came and changed my mind. I will only use Mahwah Movers.
They came out to give me the estimate and were very informative. They gave me a breakdown of all charges that would occur. They came in under priced which was amazing. They moved my three bedroom home into their storage place. The crew chief Scott and his crew were amazing. They handled my stuff with care and they were quick and efficient! I would recommend them to anyone!

I would not recommend using this company. Their drivers are reckless and dangerous. One of their drivers side-​swiped me on the highway and nearly ran me into a concrete barrier and he did not stop. When I tried to get him to pull over afterwards he kind of gave me a go to «you know where» look. I filed a police report and filed a claim against their insurance company only to be denied a claim and told I was lying and that I made up the vehicle, the vehicle license plate and the description of the driver. All the driver had to say was that he was not involved. I had photo proof of the damage to my vehicle and a complete description of the truck and driver, all he had to say was, «it wasn’t me.» I ended up paying for my own damage to my vehicle. The driver is lucky he did not injure or kill me. If they drive like that I doubt your belongings will be well cared for. The company is dishonest and reckless, and their insurance company backs up their dishonesty and recklessness. If you care for your belongings and the well being of other drivers, steer clear of this company.

Mahwah Movers to the rescue! We had a terrific experience with Mahwah Movers. Mike came out and did a thorough estimate so there were no surprises on moving day. He even dropped off moving supplies (boxes, packing tape & paper) in advance for me since I just had a baby and was struggling to get packing. The movers were professional, quick and accommodating. Great moving experience considering the nightmares we’ve had in the past and have heard from others. Definitely recommend them and would use them again!
