John’s Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning

John was polite, punctual, accurate, efficient, and effective. I had a small job for him (a stained cushion), and he correctly identified it as being soiled through use (not stained by my jeans), and did a great job of getting the stain out. His rate was very reasonable, and he was courteous throughout.

I give John and his carpet/​upholstery cleaning service a complete, 5-​star recommendation. After having my dog get sprayed by a skunk, and then run through the house, the place needed to be fumigated and everything he touched needed to be cleaned. 8 rugs, two couches and a mattress! John came to the rescue immediately. He was polite, full of information, arrived on time, and his estimate was extremely reasonable. John also has some great odor eliminating spray and cannisters that worked, too. The place is getting back to normal, and did so much quicker because of John’s fast and careful work. I have used John multiple times for rugs and furniture cleaning. I also recommended him to my extended family and friends who have used John with great results. He is professional, reliable, and extremely knowledgable as he has taken the time to answer general questions I asked him about other rugs and furniture. I once panicked about marker on a new rug that would not come out with any cleaners. I called John and he came right over after finishing his current job to assess the damage and direct me on how to solve the problem. I know he is there in a pinch for any carpet and furniture cleaning needs which is a great feeling for a busy mom with 2 kids and a dog!

John was a very nice man and took the time to accommodate my Saturday request because of a dog accident on my area rug. He originally was only available Wednesday, but moved an appointment around to come at 1030 in the morning and was on time. He cleaned my area rug and bedrooms setting realistic expectations for what I could expect out of my wool rugs. He offered to come back and use a different deodorizer on the rug if I was not satisfied when it dried and offered to clean the rug for a great price if I ever needed again just to bring it over to him. I would use him again.

John started out very professional. He took the time to ask many questions and help manage my expectations. His price seemed fair compared to the other two people who bid the job. Johns big pitch was that he did the cleaning himself rather than subcontract or hire other people with less experience. But when he came to clean it seemed that his equipment was not the industrial cleaning equipment I expected.
The carpets, for the most part came out looking much better but there were a few areas that still didn’t clean up totally. We had one office and one conference room, in particular, that had a white residue the day after he finished his work. Heavy in some spots. I though it looked like the shampoo that they sprayed on first didn’t come out all the way.
We called John and he did come back to work on the areas again. He stated that to really get the two areas cleaned properly that he would have to come back after hours when he could have full access to the floors. About a week went by and rather than letting me know which evening he would be back he called me rather upset. He was looking for payment, which I could understand. But I stated that we would pay him when he finished cleaning the white residue areas. That set him off. He stated that he would take legal action if we didn’t pay. That he never stated he would be back. That the reason the floors showed signs of white residue we from the salt outside. (which I don’t agree with).
I didn’t make a big deal about it. We paid him about a week later. It wasn’t much money about $ 425. I had just wished John stayed more patient when dealing with his customers.
So needless to say I am not thrilled with my experience working with John’s Carpet Cleaning. I would not recommend him nor will we use him again. With the help of our cleaning company we were able to get the white residue out, somewhat.
