Welcome to Pengo Complete Auto Service. Located in Hacienda Heights, CA, we take care of every problem and concern under your hood.

We service engines, transmissions, brakes, and commercial van/​truck fleets while daily performing tune ups, oil changes, smog tests/​repairs, and other emission related repairs. We are ASE and STAR certified and offer warranty up to 2 years. Big or small problems with your vehicles are important to us and we’ll give you an honest price for our outstanding services.

Every member of our staff is highly skilled and known for the quality work we accomplish with only the best parts.

We have 3 service bays, a large canopy to shade your parked car, and comfortable waiting area with radio tunes and Wi-​Fi.

History

Established in 1988.

We’ve been here before the 60 freeway existed. What’s kept us here is more than just quality parts and outstanding service. That must always be there, but our dedication to stand by our word and treat our customers fair and honestly has kept our business thriving throughout the years. We work hard to fix each and every issue under your hood because being stuck on the side of the road or in a bind is never fun. I have a mechanical engineering background that helps me advise my customers and staff well. I served in the Army and specialized in auto repair for that branch. I have learned that honesty and respect are vital to any success in business and my military and engineering background enables me to take care of my customers through experience, skill, and core values. Many people walk through my doors and most stay with Pengo because of the trust they have in our staff and culture. I love what I do and keeping my customers happy is what keeps me working hard. I don’t know how this shop is still there. If it wasn’t for the actual owner of this shop, I would give them a NEGATIVE FIVE star. The lady at the cashier is extremely RUDE and only cares about the money in your wallet. If you’re lucky and the owner is at the cashier, you’ll get a great and honest service but if the lady is there, I’d suggest you go out the door and find another shop.

Not sure where all the negative reviews are beefing about; these people are VERY HONEST about what they charge you for their services. In fact, their cost is WAY BELOW all dealer costs AND they make sure to check your car inside and out. When they add extra repairs to your vehicle, it’s because there’s a need for it and 10⁄10 you need that service. Oudi is a very honest and hard working mechanic and our family has been taking our cars to their shop for over 10 years without any issue. Just because they’re Asian doesn’t mean they’re money grubbing, for those who said such racist statement. These guys are definitely a great local mom and pop mechanic shop. Give them a try, you won’t regret it!

Wow. This shop CHEAT CUSTOMERS! Shady a** place with shady a** workers and shady a** owner (s). [asian owners] DISHONEST PEOPLE.
They will convince you to thinking there’s parts in your car that needs to be fix/​replace when you don’t. You come here for one thing done and they’ll tell you another needs to get done. (This review is based on the experience of coming here with a girlfriend to get her car work done. I told her to not fall for their lies.)
Idiots here are money hungry fu*ks, and they work as a team.

Don’t smog where they do repairs. Came in for a Smog after purchasing a used car. I waited around half an hour before they brought my car in. They took another half hour to do the actual test. I was failed due to a visual aspect of the inspection. Some places let you know that you’re missing a part, especially if it’s one that is in plain sight. Well I got charged 40.25 for failing. When I asked what the part was they said were unclear and said that the repair would cost 150. I did my research and the part cost 30 at most. 120 for labor. Here’s the best part the part that I needed was a vacuum surge tank that you can literally buy and plug into the egr system. Takes seconds to install. 120 labor for that. Unprofessional to say the least. Used to be a loyal customer for years. Not anymore

I have been coming to this shop for years as well as many family members. I can vouch that Odie the owner has saved me hundreds of dollars on unnecessary repairs. Often I go in thinking it’s one thing big, when it turns out to be a cheaper sensor or simple adjustment. He and many mechanics have plenty opportunity to rip off the lay person or women, however I trust sending my wife here without me present. Time and time again his advice has been valuable and honest! My 2000 white Toyota Tacoma has 240K miles on it, has never left me anywhere and I have only performed scheduled maintenance at Odies shop! I am the original owner so if u want your car to last and need a trusted mechanic, this is your place.

TOTAL SCAM** first, I have a K&N cold intake exhaust on my truck. They smog my car and say it passed but we don’t see a CARB OR EO number for the filter. So I didn’t get certificate. They could’ve looked and saw no sticker and say,” it has no sticker so we can’t give you certificate”. They charged me $ 43 for nothing. I would not recommend these shysters for nothing.

I always take my car there for smog checks. And if they can’t do it they are always nice enough to recommend a place that does certain types of certifications that they don’t offer there. Owners are really nice and prices are reasonable. Been coming here for years. not sure what these other people talking about. Came here on a Saturday at about 11:30ish and they gladly helped me. So YES I recommend this place. As far as the negative reviews just remember you can’t make everything happy some people think that everyone should roll out the red carpet for them but I say whatever’s to them ;)

They do star smog and repair, just in case, if you fail the smog test, they can also do the repair for you. I was recommended by BAR office. And found that they are one of few honest mechanic shop.

I needed two smog checks for two different cars in the last two months. I took my first car there and was turned away because it was too close to lunch time. Being a small business, I can ignore this blow off. I took my car elsewhere because I needed to get it done. This month I went back with another car. I walked into the office and asked if I can have a Smog Check. He looked at the clock (11:40AM) and agreed to do the smog. Then he asked me if I had an after market radio. I said yes and he turned me away. Said he could not do the smog check because of a communication problem due to the factory radio not installed in my bmw. BOTTOM LINE: HE DID NOT WANT SMOG BUSINESS. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS PLACE FOR ANY REASON.

Came here for a Smog check, the people aren’t to friendly, but not rude at all, payed 37 $ flat for the smog check, the waiting room had AC and a fan running but was kinda cluttered and dirty, over all not bad for a 37 $ smog check

Its funny how the last post says Honest Mechanic, because I came here for a smog check and they told me that I do not have a catalytic converter on my car and that I need them to install one in order to pass the smog. But when i looked, I pointed to them, there is it. Then they said, your other catalytic converter.
Am I stupid or something? I ended taking my car somewhere else to get it smoged and behold, it passed without needing to install any or other catalytic converter
Dont get ripped off and find another spot to get your car worked on

Small mom and pop shop on the corner of hacienda Blvd and Gale. Yes it’s my mom and dad’s :). One of the few honest mechanics in the area that charges you on only what you need and really tries to fix your car at the lowest price possible. They’re the best people i know.
