Came by here on a Monday night to check it out — and was pleasantly surprised! It looks nothing like the outside — very night and clean inside as well as spacious. It was pretty packed for a week night. Bathrooms are also kept clean — a huge plus for me. Drinks are well priced and not weak at all! Much better than drinks at the other surrounding bars. They don’t make food, but they have menus from local places that you can order for delivery to the bar. Love the Jukebox touch — so fun! Overall, enjoyable experience and I am definitely looking forward to coming back on a weekend!

Watch out when you go here! There little bouncers with there little man complex will try to intimidate and bully the females. They think they own the parking lot! Totally unprofessional. Will never come here again and I will make sure I let everybody know on social media. And I will be notifying the proper agency about the serious health and safety code violations I witnessed! They water down there drinks, the place smells like something rotten is in this place! Horrible!

Now we came on a friends recommendation. It’s pretty chill! The live band here on Saturday played like the doors, Johnny cash, all stuff you can sing along to very fun. I didn’t try any hard drinks but the coolest part was the table tapper. A huge carafe of beer like 90oz’ for around $ 20. The only setback is after 8pm they don’t serve it. From a marketing standpoint it makes sense. The parking is wack. The crowd is like 30+ but you know what it’s fun. I like it and would come back. Oh and they have pool. It’s not 5 stars because I’ve yet to try anything but the beer

Cigarette smokers paradise, been there a couple times, all dudes all smoking cigars or cigarettes. booooo I felt sorry for the bartender even if she does smoke, that’s messed up… hate to be stuck there for one hour let alone eight! They do have a popcorn machine and a couple pool tables on the weekends they have house bands. whoohoo, if you want to hold your breath for a while. Restroom is slightly less penetrated of smoke.

I thought that smoking was not allowed inside of bars? Well, apparently that law does not apply to City Lights. People were sitting at the bar smoking cigarettes. Also, every day of the week has a special. We went on a Wednesday. Wednesday’s are supposed to be $ 3 shots all day. When I asked the bartender, she made an ugly face and said there are no specials. I told her that there is a poster in the ladies bathroom that shows their daily specials. She just shook her head and said no. The bar was not busy at all, and there were two bartenders, so this could not have been because she was overwhelmed. I didn’t get her name, but this bartender that had a stank attitude all night was an Asian woman, that’s all I know. Not worth it. If you’re looking for a dive bar around here, just go to the one down the street. Moonlight Tavern. You won’t regret it :)

Before entering got checked by security. Get in, it’s a dive. But thats a good thing, I like divey places. Restrooms, clean, plenty of sit/stand tables. Plenty of Room at the bar. Good music, dj is decent, pools tables are busy, but I like the set up. Plenty of tv’s, Drinks are too pricey, bartenders are rude stuck up. Waitress. .wait is she my waitress, no way to distinguish her from other ladies in the«lounge». Crowd tonight was 40+ above. 1st time here, not a good 1st impression.

I have been coming to this place since before I was 21; hold on there, don’t go getting all legal on me here or call out the ID checkers. No, this place is the local bar and I knew many of my friends parents that hung out here. I remember on one trip to Ensenada, where I could drink legally, we stopped here so a friend could come by and say goodbye to her dad [and yeah get a couple of bucks]. Well I don’t judge but when I first turned 21 this was the first place I came to. And the night before my wedding, my best man and I had a cocktail here too. Yup, there have been a lot of special occasions. It used to be that I could not come in here with seeing a couple of friends or people I knew but as I get older, well you know. The one thing that has been constant is that they always serve a great [translated to strong] drink at a good price and they have had some great bands over the years. The current band that we look for is The Dirty Old Krows. They play a mixture from the ‘60s to current music. Be prepared to hear the Cure, Doors, David Bowie and the Eagles. The dance floor is pretty large, they doubled the size of the place around 10 years ago and they have plenty of tables with a couple of pool tables to boot. The waitresses seem to change around a lot but then over 25 years, they should. Don’t want to see Grandma bringing drinks in her… Oh I can’t even finish this line! So here is the skinny. Tonight with the Krows were playing and they had a great crowd. I had a great time and can’t wait to get back. But the last time I came in, well the homies were out in force and I think I was more scared of the old[er] rucas. This place is definitely a DIVE. Still it was uneventful and fun but really its the crowd and City Lights has little control over that. Its always been pretty safe and security is always present; hell the bouncer in the front was huge and you couldn’t miss him. So come on in and if you see you on the dance floor, ask me for a dance!

Totally Divey, Smokey(even though you’see no smoking sign here), and it smells like a dead animal that died outside. Hey, that sounds like my kind of place! Beer is about $ 6 here. All domestic stuff, including the Goose. Popcorn is free If going westbound, you have to make a U turn. If you want to go westbound again when leaving, you’ll have to go eastbound past the 60 and then make a U turn legally.(kind of a pain) Pool table is $ 1 a play here. Small lot, security on site, clean bathrooms. I did wish it had: Better ventilation, music on all the time, and maybe couch seating. Hence the 3 stars. Otherwise, an okay place to hang out and it doesn’t feel like you’re being threatened by biker gangs.

The homie Geo and I came to this spot on a Sunday morning. We were trying to find a place to cure a little hangover from the previous night. We were looking for a place that opened early and to our surprise this bar opens at 6am! We had micheladas which were pretty good and to make our experience better, they had complementary menudo, can’t go wrong with that. Place was pretty chill, prices are a little high, but service was pretty good.

We went to this bar and the service was no good. I asked for a double and the drink was weak. I went back and told the server and she gave me a bad adatude and said I was lying about the drink. All I wanted is what I paid for… service is no good here will take my business somewhere else..

City lights is no longer Biker Friendly! The drinks are week and the beers expensive. I dropped in last night and it was full of gang bangers. I would never go there again!

A friend of mine referred me to this bar, he said it was really nice inside, not what he expected at all. So I gathered a few friends and told them to meet up there a few weekends after. Since we’re all girls me and my best friend were waiting in the parking lot for the rest of the girls. We noticed a significant amount of people going from the bar to some back house they have near the parking lot. Kind of seemed a bit strange after that so we decided to hit BWW instead. Don’t think I’ll be trying this place out. I’ll be back to review if I do.

Yes my rating is bias. Bias because they pissed me off last night and it’s usually not the best experience anytime. Last night at a last minute request of a couple lady friends I reluctantly took Über from the comfort of my house to «S**tty Lights». I’ve been to City Lights many times over the years being from HH. In fact many of my friends and I have reluctantly gone there because they have beer special that comes in a huge disperser you can have at your table. It’s always been a casual dive bar so we’ve never had big expectations and for me it would be convenient if I drank too much there’s a motel next door. To cut to the chase. Last night no sooner that I stepped out of the car and it started driving off did the door guy tell me to call the driver back. Which technically you can’t, they must be requested through the App. I asked why? The door guy respectfully told me there is a dress code and shorts are not allowed.((Understand something. I was there, exactly two weeks to the night, ago and had no problem wearing shorts. Now suddenly there is a dress code. WTWhat!!! It’s a dive bar people. Needless to say the security leader came out and nicely explained it’s a new rule and it’s posted. POSTED?! Yes, it was posted INSIDE, where I’m not allowed to go in because I’m wearing shorts. Not baggy shorts, or gang apparel or anything remotely negative, just shorts and a shirt. Same as wear pretty much anywhere I go. Sunset Room, Moonlight Tavern, Fridays, City Lights, etc. Security did allow me to go in and tell the girls I couldn’t stay and welcome them to stay since they were there to see their friend perform. Waitress even asked if I wanted a drink, LOL. I looked foolish and felt foolish walking down the street by myself to go to the Moonlight Tavern, where they let me in wearing shorts mind you. LOL So I tell you this it my not really affect their business but I know 100% at least 80 locals that replied on my fb of this rant will no longer do trading at this establishment. Thank you to the door guy and security for being nice and respectful to about the situation but we’re out.

This place was awful. The manager & owner were both extremely rude & unwelcoming. It’s no wonder the staff was also rude & unwelcoming. The TVs are small & fuzzy, making it difficult to watch games. No HD. I will never go back. The smoking was gross & trashy.

–Saturday Night Review– What do expect in a dive bar in Hacienda Heights? A mix crowd from old to young, swanky to beach bum, and interior smoking?! Luckily, all the ceiling fans were on to disperse the smoke. There is live music every Saturday from 8:45PM and on. I would suggest getting to City Lights when the band starts if you want to grab a seat. There is NOFOOD served here, but City Lights allow outside food. They even offer a menu from delivery places! The live band is awesome and plenty of folks were dancing along with the tunes. Friday Night: switches every other week from DJ to Live Music; check calendar! I was also impressed how clean the bathrooms were(3 stalls). It’s renovated to a modern bathroom, black toilets! Overall, I would definitely come back to this no cover charge, live music dive! The bill came out to be $ 40 after 5 drinks, cheap! It’s spacious and clean for a dive bar, no intimidation. It’s as good as it gets for a dive bar! PS two pool tables also available for fun and games.
