Gurnee Pistol Academy

My daughter, Sara, and myself attended to gain our ILL CCL. The class was very informative, well run and downright fun. We both achieved our NRA Pistol certificates, qualified by shooting live ammo and left with our ILL CCL completion certificates. we also experienced ILAZER training which was very helpful as well.
Jerry, Sue and Judge Dave were great to work with and are first rate instructors.

Wow, I was amazed how informative my class session was. Great instructors who are passionate about safety, knowledge, as well as proper technique. I enjoyed my class and highly recommend Gurney Piston Academy.

Great time with great instructors. I have a lot of friends with firearms and always felt a little uneasy using them. The instructors make sure you understand the way a firearm works, the laws around them, and how to maintain and buy one. They even called before the class started to see exactly what I wanted to get from the class. It felt like I had a private tutor teaching me everything I need and wanted to know. Also no one tried to force me into buying anything. They also brought multiple types of handguns so we could try each one out and see what works best. I highly recommend this place!

Gurnee Pistol Academy is the best place to learn proper gun handling and safety, as well as the laws that affect gun owners. I always wanted to learn, and Jerry, Sue, and Dave have been great instructors, as well as very patient with a student unfamiliar with the language and terms. I highly recommend them to anyone, novice or experienced.

I was new to firearms in general but knew I wanted to eventually get my IL Concealed Carry license. Luckily I found Gurnee Pistol Academy. I have been extremely impressed with all of the training I received as well as with the three instructors Jerry, Sue & Dave. Their combined real world experience, knowledge and training make them excellent instructors. In addition, the training they provide make their students well prepared to safely handle firearms, understand legalities of firearm ownership as well as understanding proper concealed carry.
During the process of signing up for the classes I had several questions. The instructors communication was excellent and they were always available via email or phone and provided quick responses. I love the logistics they have as well for the class, it is in a very convenient location (Gurnee Mills Mall), with the range certification being just down the way at the Bass Pro Shop gun range (also at Gurnee Mills Mall).
I have now taken my IL Concealed Carry 16 hour training as well as my Utah Conceal Carry class with Gurnee Pistol Academy. I highly recommend the Gurnee Pistol Academy to anyone from beginners to experienced shooters looking to obtain their concealed carry license.

Gurnee pistol academy has to be one of the best out there! I went in knowing absolutely nothing and now I’m a regular at the range and know all my laws and information.
Jerry, Dave and Sue have such a wealth of combined knowledge and experience that you really couldn’t ask for better training.
I have now completed my basic training, concealed carry training and the hours I need for my Utah license and it’s all thanks to these fine people.
Highly recommended. Such a fun bunch of people.
