If I could give less of a rating I would. I was repeatedly talked down to by staff and by the doctor. If you’re not paying for a consult the doctor will not bother with your concerns. This is an up-​front money factory. They are not in the business of making babies, they’re in the business of making money so if there is any extra work to be done (e.g. insurance claims) they simply won’t. Don’t be fooled by their website, they will not care about the patient unless the patient waves a very fat check at the front desk. Once that check is cashed you’re history. I got conflicting information from different parties and when I tried to clear up the story I was told I needed to pay for a consultation to talk to the doctor. This office made it obvious I’m not ready to be humiliated by my reproductive issues. I’ll be adopting a child who needs me and invest any additional money in that future. This is only my personal experience I’m sure other people have different experiences.

Dr. Sherbahn and his staff are amazing! We walked into his office last year feeling very lost and he was able to navigate us through that difficult time. During our initial visit, he looked at our health and genetic issues and told us point blank, «You will have X amount of healthy embyros after all the testing», and five months later he was exactly right (now I’m 2 months pregnant!). If you have any doubt about which clinic to choose, I would look at the SART (Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology) IVF success rates and look at not just the success rates but also the amount IVF cycles the clinic performs in your age group. The decision is too important (and too costly) to just pick any ol’ clinic!
I’ve noticed some people complain about his use of statistics, but he’s trying to give you the most realistic picture possible, and as an Engineer myself, I find comfort in that. There are a lot of people trying to sell you their service. Dr. Sherbahn is established, has a proven success plan, and will give you the best chance at expanding your family.

If you are having trouble conceiving, visit AFCC first! We completed two IUI cycles at the UIC fertility clinic, but found it as mismanaged as can be. Nurses were often unavailable, and the wait for ultrasounds/​blood work was usually long after our scheduled appointment. They often submitted claims incorrectly, which result in nasty bills arriving at our home, and phone calls to the UIC billing department. On a friend’s recommendation we scheduled an appointment with Dr. Asemota. Dr. Asemota was great– she listened to our concerns and put together a plan that fit our needs. We were then able to conceive (twins!!) on the first try! The nurses were amazing, and their staff was fabulous with our insurance. In addition, they have weekend, and early morning appointments available. I highly recommend Dr. Asemota, and her staff to anyone who is having problems conceiving.

I came here with my husband because I had unexplained infertility. First we did clomid with iui 3 rounds and paid around 500 $ each time. After that didn’t work we just decided to do the ivf. We spent about 23k for the ivf, medications and testing. I was blessed with a beautiful baby girl. I gave four stars because there was one rude lady which I don’t remember her name. I also gave four stars because I got pregnant during the first round but some of these other reviewers are right about this clinic only caring about the money. I fortunately was able to get the new woman doctor and she was nice. It’s very expensive to have this done and I can see how people can get taken advantage of because they are desperate to have a child. Just do the research.

Awful staff. The nurses do not communicate between each other, you will hear one thing one wk and it will change the following week. Nurses talk down to patients as if they know nothing. Unfortunate experience.

We paid over $ 25 000 to do IVF and we were pleased to have a daughter out of the process, we were unhappy to learn that even with paying over $ 25 000 the other embryos were not tested in advance for Down syndrome?! Why? If you have a built in lab, include it in your price !!

Dr. Sherbahn in the reason we have our ten month old son. We had been through hell at another fertility clinic, but got pregnant on our first round of IVF at his practice. All of the nurses were amazing and so kind and patient. They made us feel so supported and well informed during the whole process. We feel so lucky to have found them.

We’re celebrating our beautiful daughter’s 5 month birthday! Made possible by Dr. Sherbahn and amazing staff! Thank you for the greatest gift ever! I truly believe you do God’s work.

Don’t waste your time with any other clinic — trust me — head to Dr. Sherbahn ASAP.
ABOUT ME: age 40, 2 failed IUI’s, 2 failed IVFs (DOR + Male Factor) — CURRENTLY expecting TWINS in a few months thanks to Dr. Sherbahn!
COMPETENCY: This was apparent from the first consultation. Dr. Sherbahn’s numbers speak for themselves (and I wish I had done my research before wasting time at the other clinic). The perfectionism that he exhibits is reflected throughout this entire clinic — from the ultrasound techs to the nurses and office staff, and most importantly, the embryologist and lab. This perfectionism was frustrating and caused us a number of long delays as they waited for everything to be «just so» with me before proceeding with IVF, but it was VERY worth it!
NURSES/​STAFF: We were so much happier with the nurses and staff at this clinic than our previous. You can email them anytime and you get a prompt response. You can call them anytime and they actually pick up the phone! Even after hours someone called me back when I needed them to. The nurses really know their field and are pleasant and helpful and courteous without giving false hope (something you don’t want at my age).
The billing office was great too — everything was clearly explained, and we received a refund for overpayment within weeks of the insurance claim going through
BEDSIDE MANNER: I was frankly terrified to meet Dr. Sherbahn after reading some of the Unilocal reviews. As someone who is very emotional and sensitive to doctors’ bedside manners, I was expecting the worst, but willing to put up with anything for good results. However, I was truly pleasantly surprised — Dr. Sherbahn is not a mean or rude person — he is a perfectionist and takes his practice very seriously. He cares about his patients, and though that might look different from person to person, at no point did I experience rudeness, stiffness, condescension, etc. Having said that, it is important to note that at all IVF clinics you don’t really see the doctor except for consultations, retrievals and transfers. So for us, it was even MORE important that we liked the nurses and staff — and I was very happy with them. Cathy, Deena and Sue are wonderful, kind ladies who work very hard, and Irena, the ultrasound tech, was my anchor during this difficult journey. I loved them all.
Bottom Line — we’re having twins, and we are eternally grateful!

Thanks to Dr. Sherbahn and his great team we welcomed our twins into our family. Dr. Sherbahn will give you honest and direct advice that is backed up by sound expert reasoning. We recommend this clinic as highly as we possibly can.

This is the worse doctor I have ever encountered. My wife went here for her first ivf, and it was a failure. Dr. Sherbahn will only see you for consultation, retrieval, and transfer. He has the worst personality of any person I have ever met. No strike that his nurse Cathy is even more unpleasant than him. When we questioned why they were so neglectful, they told us if we didn’t like it we could seek treatment elsewhere. This is the level of disrepect and hostility you have to deal throughout an entire ivf cycle. Also, if you are over 35 and have diminished ovarian reserve, he is not the doctor for you unless you want to be on very high doses (600IU) of fertility meds which destroy any viability of a delicate DOR egg. For our next IVF, we are going to New York to see an expert who knows how to handle diminished ovarian reserve and women over 35. Dr. Sherbahn even told us at our consultation that his prefered age group is 31 – 32. Save your money and seek treatment elsewhere, unless you are a young and fertile patient which in that case you wouldn’t be needing Dr. Sherbahn.

We spent a year at this clinic as a patient of Dr Deutch. After seven failed IUIs, we finally got pregnant from IVF but miscarried right away. For our FET, we were forced to switch doctors when Dr Deutch left the clinic. I was nervous about the switch but Dr Sherbahn is a brilliant doctor and we are SO happy that we ended up as his patients. He is a perfectionist (which I loved) and we got pregnant again from the FET. The clinic is open 364 days a year too! And the nurses are wonderful, especially Cathy, Deena, and Sue (ask for one of them). Bottom line — Dr Sherbahn is worthy of your trust in helping you start or add to your family.

I went to a rival center that couldn’t pull it together. This office runs like a well oiled machine which is exactly what you need to make it through the crazy process that is IVF. I live in another state and chose to come here. Also with the Lupron trigger you have no change of hyperstimulation which I was afraid of. If you are paying out of pocket the rates of ultrasounds is lower than competitors too. Dr. Sherbahn is certainly committed to you getting pregnant, no doubt about that. I love that they open by 6 in mornings which gets you in/​out before work. I am pregnant at 36 on first try thanks to them!
