Clarion Inn

Great hotel! Stay here! This is a well managed property, highly attentive to details, remarkable quality. Rooms and lobby look like they were just made over on a high-​end home decorating show — modern, stylish, fresh… very impressive. And it is all so new, it literally seems like I was the only one who has ever stayed in the room. Hot breakfast was very good, including eggs, sausage, ham steak, Belgian waffles, muffins, juices, and excellent coffee with my favorite Coffeemate flavored creamers. It’s like staying at home, but nicer! I paid $ 99.

Stayed over Thanksgiving holiday the room was clean and quiet, despite being very close to Hwy. The gym and pool looked nice. The TV 40″ was just too big for me (or the room). The bed and pillows were a tad to soft but that is a frequent complaint of mine the HVAC unit made a bit too much noise but it kept the temperature very comfortable. The icing on the cake was breakfasts every morning if you are traveling with family this savings could really add up. The juice was fresh and you can make you own waffle. (Don’t forget to tip generously)

Hotel is very nice overall. Their «bistro» at night seems to be a bust as there are way too many other places to eat in the vicinity than bar type food, at least for me. Breakfast was good at best.
The rooms were nice with one MAJOR exception. Their AC units! They are «Green», meaning they turn off if no activity within 15 minutes. Supposedly they read heat (as in body temps) but I did not find that in my experience. Even on the coldest possible setting of 66 it turns off during the night when one is sleeping. It would not be so bad if the fan stayed running or if there was some sort of override, but alas there is none. Even arriving in the room it is HOT AND STUFFY due to no activity. And since I booked thru AARP, there was «nothing the hotel could do to compensate me when asked how my stay was upon checking out». And this was after being moved from one room to another at 11pm the night before.
If you like hot and stuffy rooms; a/c’s that are off when you arrive and cut off during the night then this is the place for you. Otherwise I would suggest going to another of the many hotels in the Gulfport/​Biloxi area.

We stay at this hotel yearly for our family vacation. This year, we noticed a lot of great upgrades to the property. The art, style, and beds seemed to be new. Though extremely frustrating because the air conditioner kept turning off when sleeping because it was motion censored, the new systems did keep the rooms comfortable. We also love to take advantage of the complimentary breakfast which is complete with eggs, ham and biscuits or lighter options like yogurt or cereal. The staff was also very nice and helpful when it came to cleaning the rooms when we requested and providing complimentary razors as we forgot ours.

The room smell bad and is really dark, almost impossible to read inside, but the wi-​fi is the worst, my device detected the wifi from the other hotels, but not the clarion one. Sucks !!

The front desk was awesome and friendly… location is walking distance to places to eat. the room were average comfortable beds and the hotel was peaceful.

When I arrived yesterday (June 28^th) I was told by James that if I booked with Expedia, Hotwire, or
that those companies have not been sending the reservations. It didn’t make sense because how could all three major booking companies have the same problem? That wasn’t the case and it was an error on Clarion Inn which caused them to overbook (since they didn’t put in everyone’s reservations). I was in the lobby for 2 whole hours which caused me to miss the event I was in town for in the first place. When I asked James if whenever this gets resolved if I could be accommodated for my inconvenience, he went on a rant to say how it’s not his fault and basicAlly no that he couldn’t do anything. And in the same breath he proceeded to tell me that I should’ve booked through Clarions website.
Long story short, after getting hotwire to re send the conformation information (TWICE) James told me there was nothing they could do and that they were over booked and there was no room for us. I then called hotwire to see if they could move me to another hotel. Hotwire was definitely willing to move me but they had to call the hotel to verify that Clarion couldn’t accommodate me. Hotwire’s agent clicked back over to my line and told me that (miraculously) James said it turns out that they can accommodate me. When going back inside a lady named Lauren helped us and apologized for the confusion and even gave us an upgrade for our room.
I have NEVER experienced such poor customer service in my life (I’ve been treated better by McDonalds employees). Yes, there was a sticky situation beyond James and Lauren (and I totally understand that it wasn’t their fault) but customer service goes a long way.
Now the room itself was okay until I found hair in the bathtub from previous customers which was pretty gross, but other than that it wasn’t the best. After the frustration I endured, it was really hard to notice anything positive about the hotel but I would NEVER stay here again.

The room was nice but im changing my review because of how the handle reservations you basically get charged twice if you hold the room with a card and pay in cash I am waiting for «the hold» to fall off my account they are blaming the bank and the bank has nothing to do with charging my card clairon inn does sadly we will not stay there again sad really the room was really nice

Für den Preis den man bezahlt sicher ein gutes Hotel. Ich würde hier keine Ferien machen, aber als günstiger Zwischenhalt auf einem Roadtrip passt das ganz gut.
Das Hotel liegt direkt am highway uns sehr nahe am interstate, also perfekt für Autofahrer. Essensmöglichkeitrn gibt es hunderte, einige sind auch locker zu Fuss zu erreichen, z.B. Wendy’s und Hooters. Ersteres liegt sogar so nahe am Hotel dsss man leider auch den ganzen Geruch der Küche riechen kann.
Das Personal war nicht wirklich motiviert, aber was solls. Unfreundlich waren sie auch nicht.
Das Fitnessstudio war ganz ok mit zwei Laufbändern und einem Kraftgerät.
Meine 4 Sterne Wertung soll richtig verstanden werden: Das Hotel ist ganz klar ein 3 Sterne Hotel — aber angesichts des Preises und der Erwartung an ein 3 Sterne Hotel gibts von mir 4 Sterne.

Night employee «Clarence» was awesome. Friendly guy (who may enjoy talking a little too much) was quick and efficient. We passed through Gulfport at 1am and were exhausted. Rather than sleep in the truck we decided to stop. Little did we know that there was a BIG music festival going on. After hitting 4 different hotels and being told a ridiculous number for a rate (and being denied the military rate), we decided on Clarion. We told Clarence that we were only passing through and staying maybe a total of 8 hours. Rather than lose a sale, he went ahead and gave us the rate (nearly half price!) since the hotel had plenty of empty rooms.
The room itself was good, beds comfortable, room clean, and plenty of shower pressure. Only issue we had was the noisy AC and the people hanging outside of our door talking for 20minutes.

Great place to stay great staff makes me feel like I’m at home every time I stay there.

THIS IS NOW CALLED CLARION INN and worth staying at! I’m a neat-​freak germophobe so hotels are a big thing for me. We stayed one night at this Clarion and were glad we did. Clean sheets and bathroom, quiet, and convenient! There are quite a few hotels in the same vicinity but for the price, convenience, hot breakfast, amenities and friendly staff, we’d choose this one again. AAA discount accepted and the front desk staff was glad to give us dinner recommendations. Located right off I-​10 and within 8 miles from the coast. Definitely give it a try! Rated high on Tripadvisor website as well.
